@@ToyAlchemy I don't know anything about Gundam so do you recommend getting this? It looks really cool and price that I found this on amazon is good. And how hard is this to build? Like I said I am not familiar with Gundam so I'm not sure is it worth it? Also how easily does these break? Great video
thanks for the review I totally agree with having waterslide decals.. I didn't do all of it but still it looks good, this is probably my current favorite RG kit, I hope Bandai continue the new build quality, the other RG kits like you said have loose or breakable parts...
I use Mr Hobby Mr, Mark Setter for my Water Decals, but never used them with my stickers. I'm going to try and see how it works on this RG Red Frame kit.
He didn't join the waist part together all the way. When I put mine together it was so tight I think I couldn't separate it if I wanted to. Something he did wrong (this was the 1st thing I put together when I opened the kit.)
I wish that was the case, but the waist on a few of the RG kits has always been an issue. Bandai makes great kits, but the engineering of some parts just sucks and is not the greatest. Take for instances the PG Banshee and the arms.
Toy Alchemy there's a bunch people that I talked to about this. They went back took the torso pieces off. Snapped it together correctly and put everything back on. Then thanked me. I think if you try you'll see what I mean.
Waist problem? Just scrape the back side of the waist connector and just leave the other side, after that put them together with lil bit pressure and you will hear a click, and thats it.. Nomore waist issue..
+ZennXer Did you see the p-Bandai is doing a RG Blue Astray ! Sad enough, I will have to skip the RG Blue Astray Exclusive kit. I have to finish my other RG kits before I build another identical Astray RG in another color
+Tshadow 9 Let me start out by saying, I like all the RG kits. And yes they all have issues, but I like having that Master Grade feel in a 1/144th scale !!!
I was apprehensive about getting a RG kit at first but your video helped me out and now I'm very happy with my purchase. As you have said in the video, the inner frame legs have a tremendous amount of articulation. The overall inner frame just makes this kit really awesome but the waist joint is still a issue. Also, I accidentally broke the V fin and the little part on the abdomen kept falling off so had to glue that piece. I plan to buy the HGBC EZ-8 kai parts to add to the astray, but want to know if it's compatible with the RG.
The RG kits are my far by far my favorite. I hate to say it, but I have broken so many pieces building these kits that I too always keep glue ready just in case a part breaks. It can be very frustrating. Bandai needs to make replacement parts easier to buy. I broke the V-fin on the PG Banshee Norm. I was really upset, since it was not easy to fix/ I'm really happy that the video helped out.
Yes, Bandai does need to make replacement parts available at a reasonable amount. Still need to know if the HGBC Build parts are compatible with the RG kits, thanks☺
Its not just this kit or the RG line. If I had a $1 for all the V fins or other parts I have broken over the years I could buy a few PG kit with the $$$. I keep all the unused parts from all the kits I build to use when I break parts. The RG kits are great, I just wish Bandai would fix the waist issue which is the #1 problem in a lot of RG kits.
I herd you needed a damaged part replaced for this kit, did you get it on HLJ, or if not could you tell how you got the parts needed to finish that astounding RG cause it's great how bandai is going all out with the Real Grade series.
+Kyle Hartnett I got impatient and used some Tamiya Cement and fix it myself. But, yet if you bought it from HLJ they will replace the parts if its with 10 days of receiving your order
Hi, Just wondering if the waist problem is really that bad? I mean, does it pop off when you pull it like that in your in video or does it generally like to come off even with a light tap? E.g. I'm playing with it and another robot punch it directly to its chest area will it split in half? Sorry, I really want the RG Red Frame and the only thing holding me back is that waist issue.
+Codename C Let me say 1st that This is one of my favorites ! I think the whole RG line of kits are great. But with that said, the RG Astray Red Frame will fall apart easily. The waist connection was not one Bandai better design moments. You could use some rubber cement to make it a bit more sticky without damaging any parts.
if you ever want to take off the backpack dont. it's so stiff I actually broke mine TWICE! otherwise it's fine I don't like how the frame is built though it's a bit thin making it easy to break if your agressive with your kits.
+Francis Nodora Its for that very reason why I always have both ABS & PS plastic cement to fix all the parts that break. Some kits are great and you will never break parts, and other are just cursed and you may break 3 or 4 parts on x1 kit.
Now I just remove the bottom of the hilt and put the sword in the holding hand, then attach the bottom again. It's probably the only way you can really do that.
+NERDY G Well if the hand is loose I always use rubber cement to make it stiff to hold a weapon. The legs being stiff, you could shave down the joint peg a bit.
+Toy Alchemy thank you so much I really like the hands their just to loose. Thanks for the advice and it was my first real grade so i thought I was just doing it wrong
Toy Alchemy yo! i just finished the 00, omg. its fantastic! i might be biased though cuz its my first rg build. its a bit frustrating, but the result is the greatest part. i cant think of any words anymore to describe this kit. i think the difference between the red astray and the 00 is its versatility. 00 raiser got a ton of weapon, that means a lot of pose to make! u should definitely buy now and pls make a review for it!:)
As in living in america and buying it online does anyone really buys gundam markers and sand down stuff and clean them? I just use my hands and a sharpie and they look decent but still it sucks.
Buy a pair of Xuron flush cutters,a 7 step nail buffer, a hobby knife like an exacto and a set of Gundam markers and you will start to see a a improvement
Panel lining pens come in brown for red/yellow/gold colors black for darker colors and gray for white. Of course if you want a sort of cell shaded anime look just use black
I'm diggn your reviews dude. I'm new to the Gundam seen so I had to subscribe. Thanks for all the helpful info.
Thanks !! The RG kits I think is the best line of Gundam Kits.
@@ToyAlchemy I don't know anything about Gundam so do you recommend getting this? It looks really cool and price that I found this on amazon is good. And how hard is this to build? Like I said I am not familiar with Gundam so I'm not sure is it worth it? Also how easily does these break?

thanks for the review

+Gabe Karl Some of the stickers are already pealing off my RG Red Frame :(
My cousin told me to put topcoat on mine for that kind of situation
I use Mr Hobby Mr, Mark Setter for my Water Decals, but never used them with my stickers. I'm going to try and see how it works on this RG Red Frame kit.
Try pushing the hip joint way down to its waist until you hear it click. That should prevent the top from falling off.
Dude, I love your reviews.
i just read you will do it tomorrow. cant wait for that
he calls the scabbard a scarab and i am cringing so hard
Thanks from Brazil for this video!
Hi i just noticed a slight mistake with your built. The white thigh panel above the knee is placed the oposite. Check photos ect. For reference lol

Nice review straight to the point no bs...

Thank you for the review! This will be my 2nd rg!

Same
But most importantly is this solid n beginner friendly?
You have to push the waist in more so it doesnt pop out so easily
Thanks for the review it looks better than the rg destiny which has a couple problems
+Tshadow 9 Let me start out by saying, I like all the RG kits. And yes they all have issues, but I like having that Master Grade feel in a 1/144th scale !!!
Good review as always 👍
+Sol Boricua (gunplabuilder81) Thank You !

+Myrolz Thanks !!! I have a bunch of HG Gundam Iron Blooded Orphan kit I'm working on this week.
+Toy Alchemy nice! I want ask you the Red Frame body easy to put off?
+Myrolz I want buy it but feel worry 😅
+Myrolz Don't worry, its an easy kit to make. If you have any questions I can help help you :) You will like the Red Frame kit
This kit will put off when push to top? Sorry For my Bad language ..

+MoChan.Official Watch for my MG Amazing Red Warrior tomorrow ! I just made the video today !

i broken the red shoulder pad and fixed it with thinner (sad)but it is good now. i dun like the wraist.

Toy Alchemy Is the HGBC EZ-ARM flight unit compatible with the RG Astray?
you made a good review keep on it
+Deri Heriyanto Thanks !! I have a bunch of reviews that I will start putting up this week.
good review.thanks
In my opinion, 00 is still the best RG. Tbh though I'm biased lol, butt I did get the kit the day it came out! Getting this red frame next. 👍
+Joed T. thats what i thought too! but after getting the red frame and putting some extra details..its hard to choose between 00 and astray.
+Igneos Kai I'm a huge fan of the entire RG Gundam Series !! And Gundam OO.
Toy Alchemy yeah, they're really great. im just nervous with the smaller parts, they tends to fall off frequently
I herd you needed a damaged part replaced for this kit, did you get it on HLJ, or if not could you tell how you got the parts needed to finish that astounding RG cause it's great how bandai is going all out with the Real Grade series.

I think the rg 00 raiser will give this kit a run for its money :)
+Derpasauras I have to admit I'm a huge fan of the OO Raiser and have been staring at this kit for over a month as it sits on my desk !
great review. looking forward to the next ones. are you getting the mg amazing red warrior? right now i'? building th mg sazabi. :)
+Kevin Nase I hope you like the Amazing Red Warrior videos
+Toy Alchemy i did. i,m getting mine next month. keep it up man. kudos..
I hope you enjoy the kit as much as I did. RG are the best kits, I think. But don't get me wrong I like build Master Grades a lot too
looks like you switched thigh armor since the "screws" are supposed to be placed outwards, not inwards. great review though
Is there any good way around the issue of the waist joint? Maybe some glue?
+Michael Greenberger I always use Rubber cement on loose joints. I might glue it.. I will let you know what I do

+Toy Alchemy Thank you sir!
how to paint the gold part of red frame katana? do i need to undercode it first before paint with gold colour? sorry im new in painting gundam
is there a way to prevent the upper body part from falling off?
+maning04 I wish there was a way to keep the body from falling off. It a great kit, just not very stable kit
if you ever want to take off the backpack dont. it's so stiff I actually broke mine TWICE! otherwise it's fine I don't like how the frame is built though it's a bit thin making it easy to break if your agressive with your kits.

+Toy Alchemy the sword is soooo shiny, what is it made of?
Am I crazy, or do the articulated hands just not want to hold the Katana??
+S.F. Yodamaster I had the same problem. The fingers were way too loose to be of any use. Its ashame, because the kit is very good
Now I just remove the bottom of the hilt and put the sword in the holding hand, then attach the bottom again. It's probably the only way you can really do that.
Its one of the reason why I used the fixed hands instead.
I got 2 problems with this kit. 1. The legs are to stiff. 2 the real grade hands can't hold the katana. Is their anyway to fix any of those problems?
+NERDY G Well if the hand is loose I always use rubber cement to make it stiff to hold a weapon. The legs being stiff, you could shave down the joint peg a bit.
+Toy Alchemy thank you so much I really like the hands their just to loose. Thanks for the advice and it was my first real grade so i thought I was just doing it wrong
+NERDY G Dont worry it wont be the last time you have this issue. I would say 1 out 3 models have some problem that requires a bit of a fix. :)
hello I'm Ryan I just wanted to know how do I get one Everest my first time getting one and I love you in Chicago
I got problem fixing part 06-2
ibcould not join the D5 to the 04
Is the flight unit from the HG compatible with this one?
+Patrick Aguilar Hmmmm, I dont know. Never thought about trying that.
+Toy Alchemy Please please try it when you have time. I think it will really look good if it works. :D
which is better, this red frame or 00 raiser?
+Igneos Kai All the RG kits are like mini Master Grades amnd I like them all. I have not built the 00Raiser yet, but the kit look amazing.
+Toy Alchemy alright! i just ordered the 00 raiser, i was really torn but i hope i don't get disappointed. Thanks for ur response!
You wont be disappointed ! I personally think the RG series is one of the best line of kits to build. Let me know what you think after you build it.
Toy Alchemy
yo! i just finished the 00, omg. its fantastic!

+Igneos Kai I bought it the day it came out, and it been gathering dust in my closet, Its still one of my favorite Gundam Series of all Time !!
How hard is it to build?
+Aron Ashurov This kit is easy and a really sweet RG kit !
Kinda pissed at bandai for not letting the RG Astray have TWO katanas like the MG version of it. I don't care about the flight unit tho.
