I have the Gundam Astray Blue Frame Master Grade Model and just like the Red Frame seen in this video it too had a big ass weapon mounted on it's back that looks like a big ass sword.
My bro gifted me this kit about 2-3 Christmas' ago and I finally over the past few days have been building it. I got stumped when the waist pegs weren't connecting to the legs properly, and thanks to this video I saw I accidentally put the feet on backwards! Realizing that and fixing it I was able to continue onward, so thanks for this small video with better close-ups of the pieces!
Words of advice for those looking to get an MG Astray of any kind: 1 - Be careful with the side armor parts for the chest. One of mine split in two without any effort. That's how fragile it is. 2 - Get metal replacement parts for the hips immediately. The ones you get in box WILL break if you so much as move them at all. They are not strong enough.
So this is actually the Red Frame "Kai" (2010 kit), right? I recognize the "Tactical Arms IIL" backpack unit that can transform into a "sword", "arrow", or "flight" form. Very cool, nonetheless. I wonder if you'll also do videos on the MG versions of certain other Astray frames soon? ^ I'd especially love to see Blue Frame "D", the "Out" Frame, or even the base Gold Frame.
yes, i was confused as well, bc the Master Grade regular Astray Red Frame is P-Bandai, so i checked the Gundam Wiki for the box arts and, well, this kit is of the Astray Red Frame Kai
Hey question as you seem to know this kit, was a version done with gold chrome for the sword hilt,guard and scabbard tip. I'm curious if my kit I got was legit as that's the only extras it had compared to this version.
@@williamnewell186 Not as far as I know. There however *_is_* a "Gunpla 30th Anniversary Version" of this kit that comes with clear armor parts, though.

Nice! The Astray series are a personal favorite of mine in the entire Gundam Franchise. Do the Blue Frame next.
Finally! So this is how the Red Astray looks like. I bought it more than 10 years ago. I hope the kit is not yet brittle.

This was my first " modern gundam kit. The sword impulse refired my love of gundam. I have a few 80s kits.

the one that broke on mine is the back of waist that holds the backpack adaptor, and yeah that hip joint is tight and needs to be loosen
