Wanted to try something new for the first video of this kind!

I like the edit but I feel like there's a lot of Shen talking about something that is not on the screen, maybe consider keeping some sort of split screen or picture in picture for these edited runs?

I know a lot of people are saying how much they would’ve rather seen a full-length run, but for what it’s worth, I really liked the edited version. If there was a way to upload the full VOD as well, maybe that would be the best course, but either way, I enjoyed the race and would love to see more!
Agreed. This has my focus and full runs I leave on in the background. Both fill different categories of content, so if it's not too much work both would be good

hey can you do a tutorial on how to setup the games you play i want to play a randomizer for myself but am having trouble getting it to work even with the guides and there really isnt a youtube tutorial out there to help

I like the fact you post edited version of your races. But I feel like the split screen is better when you do a race with Shen, it's less confusing than going back and forth between the two of you. Nice race tho!

the vods are on twitch on chris and shen’s channels. it was on nov 6 or nov 5. but this run starts a couple hours into chris’ stream.

I feel like I may be the only one to notice this, but Chrism, if you ever noticed that the audio sometimes sounds distorted in the game, there is a setting in Bizhawk you can change to fix that, some GB/GBC games like Pokemon and Links Awakening tend to slightly vary the clock speed like when you enter or exit buildings to load things, if you go into Config > Speed/Skip and select Audio Throttle then rather than keeping an always-constant clock speed in emulation (which causes the audio to warp) it will vary the clock speed and framerate to match the audio instead. I noticed this in both yours and Shen's gameplay so I figured I'd point it out if you wanted to look into it.

I really wish this video wasnt edited down so much. I didnt really understand what the run was and it felt like i was halfway through still confused and seeing it all in real time wouldve helped me understand quicker. Absolutely love these wacky runs too
I like this edited video, I feel like this is better for focused watch while the full vod is great background audio. Both styles have plusses and minuses.

What a fun video I love this concept dude.
In all honesty, whoever makes your intros/graphics for the explanation of the rules does an amazing job! Super entertaining video too! Would love to see a 2v2 race of this someday! Either you and Shen vs 2 others or you and someone else vs Shen and someone else so it is someone who has done this run paired with someone who has no experience with how the items work out.
I absolutely love archipelago, and I'm glad to see more content of it from you! I'm seeing a lot of comments saying they prefer full playthroughs, but I think edited versions of playthroughs on the main channel and then the full ones on the second channel is good!

When you say "double emerald", are there games that are available but arent on the Archipelago website? is there a good video guide to setting up this multiplayer randomizer?
pokemon emerald just got added to the future 0.4.3? 0.5.0? version of Archipelago so more of these are coming ^^
I think the hint system can help with one player waiting on the other. You might already know all of this, but there is a way you can fine tune it, where the cost of buying a hint can be changed so that you can’t just hint a ton throughout the run and have to use them more wisely.

If you want to do more edited content that’s ok but it would be nice to have access to the full VOD. Maybe on a dedicated VOD channel or playlist… Love your banter with Shen. You always find new ways to keep Pokemon interesting.
My favorite videos are with Shen of gen 1 & 2 games, but they are often too long for me to watch the whole thing. Edited is great!

I think with this style of editing, with lots of jumps, it would be a good idea to add voice over to bridge the gaps. It can get pretty confusing when there's suddenly a huge jump in progress, especially with the randomizer meaning that even people who know the games well will have trouble following properly.
Also supporting the preference for side by side over this swapping between screens.
This mode is very fun to watch, would be awesome to get a full lenght run of the both of you!
I plan on uploading full length double game view versions of other runs we do as well! Might be uploaded to my 360chrism plus channel though!
I am quite unsure whether I should upvote or downvote this video. I love having more Chris/Shen content since I like their chemistry but I prefer full-length videos. Since Chris already stated on stream that he is unsure whether this video will do well, I will downvote it for now and hope that he receives that as the feedback it is supposed to be.
He tends to read comments a lot, so hopefully just this comment alone let’s him know.

@@BARUtubbig I am always for giving people more options, so I am with you there. But on the other hand, the Twitch VOD feature is terrible and RUclips feels much nicer, to me at least.
He now has a separate channel that he's starting to upload unedited/longer videos to (360Chrism plus), so hopefully it will turn up there eventually.
I wouldn’t be able to commit to the whole playthrough, so I’m thankful for this edited version. I think this what the main/alt channel split is for. Might be nice to have the uploads posted simultaneously so the people who would watch the long version don’t have to intentionally avoid the edited one.
