(* shrug *) It was the only name I could think of. It was mostly just a reference to the Unearthed Arcana Subclasses that tied the two classes together. There's an UA subclass for the Wizard called the Artificer. And an UA subclass for the Artificer called the Archivist. Which had similar themes to the Order of Scribes Wizard, funnily enough. I mostly didn't want to call it the "Artizard" or "Wizaficer", lol. Mashing the two names of classes only works with certain pairings.
Ooh, I did say Plate, didn't I? My mistake. Thank you for pointing out my mistake. Well, the good news is is that the Armorer's Arcane Armor doesn't have a limit on what type of Armor you can use for it. So you can have your Archivist sporting a suit of Arcane Studded Leather. Granted, that's a base AC of 12, so that does bring the Total AC down to about 26 after all of the bonuses. Still not bad.
I like the concept. :) I'm not sure if I would go exactly this route, but I do love the idea of making a wizard a lot more survivable. I also love the idea of thunder gauntlets attacking multiple times with the bladesinger. Personally, I still would like to stay out of melee as a wizard, so I think i'll take a more ranged friendly defensive option like Abjuration, but this is still a fantastic build that I feel needs much more love.
This build has been getting a lot of love today, I will say. I can understand why most people would want to stay out of melee. This build uses melee as a bit of a last resort, when you run out of Spell Slots. If I were to have gone with more of a backseat style, I may have chosen War Magic or Abjuration and perhaps used Artillerist. Anyway, like I mentioned in the video, you don't need to follow my advice to a "T", I actually love hearing about what other people do with their own builds. There are even times where I get inspired by them.
Idk if this goes well but i went 3 armoror artificer 17 evocation wizard. Ment to be a blaster tank but with how my dm is ruling hex(getting it from spellwroute tattoo). It allows me to spam magic missle and deal some decent dammage, along with if he needs, he becomes a boxing melee wizard with thunder gauntlets and booming blade.
Sounds like it will work just fine. Hex only states that you need to hit with an attack to receive the extra damage from it. You just need to keep in mind that Hex is a concentration spell; not to mention the duration of it as well. I would probably suggest going 5 levels into Armorer Artificer, just so you can use Extra Attack and get your money's work out of that Hex combo.
I'm currently working on a warforged or Autognome Artificer 1-2/Scribes Wizard 11-12. He's a robot monkey named SEVEN (Sentient Entity Versed in Enchanted Notation)
SEVEN. I like it. I can see an argument for either one. Though I would say that the Autognome would be best for a robot monkey. Unless you are looking for more of a gorilla or some sort of other type of ape. It all depends on the flavor, I would say.
@@Drahjan_BeginDownload definitely more on the chimpanzee side! He'd be a small size. The toss up between the two is whether or not Autognome will be allowed in my next campaign, but that's my first choice of the two.
I love the image of a thunderboxer robot so if I were ever to play as this build I'd probably lean with that aesthetic with forcefields as well due to the absurd AC. Also your voice is really nice. Question tho, I think it said that you can use your intelligence modifier for the armorer's weapons ie the thunder gauntlets. If so then wouldnt that make the Strength score redundant?
Why thank you, my friend. And yes, the Armorer does state that: "when you attack with that weapon, you can add your Intelligence modifier, instead of Strength or Dexterity, to the attack and damage rolls." What I like is that keyword: *can* And that's why I decided to use the STR modifier in the calculations for the damage for the Thunder Gauntlets. Bladesong/Song of Victory gave a bonus that would not have been there if we were already using the INT modifier for the Thunder Gauntlets. Sort of the same reason why the spell Tasha’s Otherworldly Guise is not in my recommended spell list. We already get the bonus, so the bonus from this other feature doesn't apply. I just saw your response as I was typing this, so I will answer it as well: while yes, the Bag of Holding replicant does serve to make carrying most of our inventory easier, I was also calculating for the items a Bag of Holding would not be able to carry (after all, even the bag as a limit to how much it can carry/hold). Such as our Armor, which while the STR requirement is ignored to put the armor on, it does still count as an item we are carrying. Also, we do want to be able to jump, so a decent STR score was necessary, lol. One of our goals for this build was to go against the memes that defined the Wizard, so I calculated for a "STRonk" Wizard. [That was a terrible joke]
