Whats your favorite weak spot to shoot in War Thunder?
pls do tips that can 1 shoot on top tier tank :D
russian 76mm (MD-8 shell) can go through the roof of the churchill 7, swedish 40mm SAPHE can one shot kill pattons through the cupola and late russian heavies through the lower side, any gun with 120mm+ penetration can insta break the breach of the is-2 by shooting above the barrel (easier than cupola or barrel shot and good for tanks without APHE), russian 14.5mm can go through the side of shermans and jumbos, american 76mm and any similar caliber with enough pen can kill a tiger 1 through the gunner optics, pershings can be killed by most APHE by shooting the driver or machinegunner hatches, 88mm pzgr 39 and the panther can go through the jumbos turret at 500m, kv-1s can be killed by any APHE with 50mm+ pen by shooting the machine gun from a 45 degree angle ,any sufficiently large HE shell can overpressure most vehicles by shooting the lower part of the tracks (150mm+ vs is-2, fv4005 vs maus, and a lot of smaller calibers vs lighter targets), and probably a few more i cant remember
Any machine gunner port on american tanks. Especially at high mid tiers. They haven't been scary since :D
Same for KV/IS lower plates if you have enough pen. One shots everytime
The center port of KV-1's. Especially handy when it comes to facing KV-1B's and KV-1E's.

As far as the entire Sherman line goes, I've also found you can shoot the road wheels with high explosive on a 75 mm or greater gun and it will overpressure the entire crew.

The jumbo has another weak spot. If its is full front on as it should be, you can bounce a shell off the tracks and into the hull if you have the proper angle. Found this out in protection analysis and then tested in a custom with friends to see if it worked and it does. Feel like it's a very unknown place to shoot one so try it out in game and see what kind of toxic reactions you get. Also you can go for the cupola too

@@AutumnDeIighthe means when a jumbo tries to angle and become unpenable frontally due to the mg being angled or away. You can try and shoot through the lower hull through the tracks typically trying to either bypass and pen the rollers or sprocket due to the armor being thinner there
No, I literally mean you can bounce a shell up off the top of the track into the hull. Shoot it right above the sprocket and below the skirt from a direct front on aspect

KVs and IS tanks (at least until the IS2 1944) have a relatively weak LFP, so most guns can comfortably go through it, and it usually lights up the fuel or kills all the crew. Additionally, the turret cheeks are usually penable.
Playing the KV-1e tonight I came up against a Churchill crocodile and got in a slap fight with it. Then I remembered the turret roof shot from the video and it did the trick, thank you.

I shot his barrel, forced him to angle, got an amazingly lucky shot, he started on fire, lost his driver and all of that and got a side shot on him. All thanks to this video, you saved my life lol. Sometimes the kv series of tanks can be penned on the lower front plates, along with the IS-1 and 2
For the Jumbo, it has a bit of a shot-trap under the mantlet, so if the MG-port is bushed-up you can try aiming there -- though you need a tall-ish tank, like Tiger sized, to hit it. Also works for T34, which can be a pain in the ass to fight headon.
Because the hull likes to bounce weaker shells, the drivers port and volumetric can stop shells it shouldnt, and hitting the turret and knocking out gunner/loader/breech is a standard practice

This is why we have have secrecy in the military.
you forgot that even when a jumbo is facing you head on panthers and long 88s can actually pen the area about a foot or two above the track, no further left or right. usually a 1 shot kill there.
For IS-1 IS-2 and soviet heavies around BR 4.0 to 6.7, the lower front plate is a good area to go for a quick shot, given you have a decent cannon for the BR.
For the churchill/black prince in general, if you have a low caliber cannon(can't pen it anywhere), and happens to be on it's side, the two boxes on each side basically has no armor and shooting that part will take out the engine.
The French ARL-44 has extremely weak roof armor frontally.

If the Churchill angles you can go for the behind the tracks hull shot which just wrecks them.

What do you do for tanks that are like 500m+? Cause you can shoot the barrel sure, but driving up to it's side afterwards isn't always an option especially when they have teammates covering them. Do you just disengage at that point?
Yes, weakspots in this video is pretty much useless for 80% of the time. Fighting at that close range is rare. And usually tanks also have teammates. Barrel and tracking is also not considered a "weakspot" since you can kill modern mbts with that tactic. The problem is they wont let you shoot first.
If in this video tanks could actually shoot back, this guy would be dead in almost every engagement. These tips might work in theory but they dont work in real fights except few ones.
For example, if you are facing king tiger with 76mm you will most likely die. Avoid tortoise as well unless you have gun with 200mm pen+. Same goes for t95 those cupolas are hard to hit and fuse rarely detonates.

if you have a shell with a high amount of HE filler (preferably 70g or more) you can also go for the lower front plate of the hetzer, aim a bit upwards to hopefully avoid most of the transmission and the APHE will do the rest
One I have found if close up to a Tiger or another tank with an MG ball mount at the front...your round will enter and destroy the tank.
Also, for the KV-1 you can shoot the gun mantlet (the arc looking thing) from the side or at an angle and pen the turret.
You can bonk the Brummbar through the roof as well.
I can’t thank you enough for making this. I’m a very new player who wanted to play tanks but couldn’t get back into WOT and wanted to move to WT. But sadly wot taught me some nasty habits. Such as “just press 2” when encountering a heavily armored opponent, or stay moving to avoid artillery. Going for the gun is something I never would really consider either so it’s a learning process. I’ve managed to get the Soviets to 6.3 and the Germans to 5.7 and now the Americans to 5.3. So far the Americans seem to be the best teaching line as it seems to require weak spot knowledge as well as map knowledge for flanking shots. I still suck at range and tend to not get very many kills most games but guides like yours are really helping me out here so thanks again for taking the time to make it.
16k games with a lot of them in mid tiers and I had no idea about the weakpoint on top of the turret of the KV-1

On the tortoise if you shoot the machine gun Copolla on the roof it’ll kill the tank. Learned that from playing WoT.
The IS1, IS2 and KV1, KV2, and all KV have another weakspot: lower glacis or lower plate of the tank.
The reason people go backwards in the IS-2 is the massive engine eating shots not the angle, check your research💀
I only just found out the other day that a Panther can go through the lower plate of an American T34. Wasn't expecting it
What I’ve learned is any flat spot is the weak point. If you can’t pin the flat spot aim for the ports

Best weak spot on a jumbo or Sherman tank or any of the M4 line is the tank itself. At any distance at any angle. With any gun. Out of rounds or bullets? Use a pistol. Out of pistols? Just fart in the tanks general direction. It'll take out the entire crew instantly. Experience has shown me this.
That's all good info but in battle they will be down range behind buildings and trees they won't be standing still

Any tips against IS-4Ms? Don't really know any weakspot of that thing frontally (only maybe machinegun port next to the gun, and lower plate if he is going uphill)
The IS-4M really depends on the shell you're using.
If you load 105mm APDS the lower front plate is a weak spot at least most of the time
With 105 HEAT 90% of the time you can just shoot upper front plate and one or two shot it. The gun mantlet can also be penned with a shell of this type but it is unreliable because volumetric exists.
Early APFSDS is similar to APDS tbh in terms of weak points
If you are using a tank that has anything less than a 105mm gun I'm afraid you're royally screwed- unless you can commit track and barrel torture and get the lower side beneath the side skirts. The big mistake is to shoot the turret side. For the love of god please don't shoot there, it has way more armour than you think. Thanks for coming to my TED talk. :)
There is a very tricky and precise spot where the drivers hatch is. Where the drivers hatch is at you can shoot at the very top where both top and bottom parts of the hatch clip together. I have had king tigers pierce through there and have tried it myself, but it is still very precise and some people might not agree with this method. Still works tho if your using anything like the king tiger or stronger if it's just a standard AP round

The cupola shot is the square hole of weak spots.
You can kill Panther G from the front playing with 75mm Sherman

Angled hill Churchill on a downtier... Hell... But you can make it go fire by shooting the thing in the back
Churchill can also be .50 cal'd from the side. There is a part that sticks out that the rear side that looks to be a cargo container but I could be wrong, but its only 5mm structural steel and the engine is right behind it. Works on the churchill 1, 3 and the NA 75. Not sure about the 7 though

Shoot the KV in the lower plate and you will always 1 shot it

I'm pretty sure that bug has been fixed, tested it and it doesnt seem to work anymore. Atleast not against the panther or tiger 2

Its not reliable, idk why he said it is. I only shoot the cupola if I don’t have any other choice

What if your shell doesn't have explosive filler? I play UK and its very frustrating when you shoot the guy and the bullet just disappears
You have to know where to shoot, if you hit the ammo one hit is enought, if you can’t try to break the turret or the canon and then move safely for a second shot on the side.

With British tanks more often than not you can pen the front of things with the correct ammo. And also turrets. I'd suggest going for crew knock outs and ammo. And as we all know the ammo thing is inconsistent...
I would also want to add that tortoise has another weak spot: the dual machine gun turret on the right side of it's casemate

@@DawgIVLife all good. I actually didn't realise how weak is the weakspot you mentioned, I used to shoot it with more powerful guns. But my first thought was always to shoot the mg turret.
I believe the Tort also has a weak-spot on it's upper-front-plate, basically in the middle of that V-shaped bracket, for whatever reason it only has like 100-ish-mm of effective armor despite being a nearly flat angle.
Another thing to add, you can angle the machine gun turret to help alieviate this. (And then switch to primary gun only so it stays pointed in that direction)

I did not know about the hetzer weak spot; very cool.
The Jumbo has a weird weak spot in the frontal armour that I don't think is common knowledge. The roof armour can be penetrated where it slightly dips up, and if APHE is used, your entire crew can die. I only know about this because I have been killed once by someone doing it to me. You have to aim for the turret ring.

I struggle with all those IS-3, 4 series of tanks when I play Tiger II what do I do
Lower front plate right below the pike nose for the IS-3. Not sure about the 4 as I rarely see them but I would guess the same as the 3
If you're in a tall tank the IS-3 suffers from the similar weakspot as the Churchill Mk.VII, if you're facing the IS-3 front on aim where the mantlet and turret meet just above the gun, you should see what looks like a metal flap and that's where you shoot.
