    At first, 16-hour shifts sound daunting and intimidating, but they really aren’t bad. I work two 16-hour shifts (day and evening combo, aka 6AM-10PM) and then one 8-hour day (6AM-2PM). Truthfully, the schedule can not be beat. You have 4 whole days off plus what is left of my 8 hour day so it really is kind of like having 4 1/2 days off every week! 😊

      Thats what we do as NURSES. A quick question was it in a Hospital setting (aged care) or Nursing Home.

    • @reactionswitherin5504

      @@HikariMiwa 16 hour shifts are exactly that, 16 hours 😊 . I guess you could say 15 when you take out your 2 30-minute breaks (or sometimes I take it all at once as a full hour). You do get some sleep but it it usually short, especially if you have to be up again early the next morning. However, the long days decreases the total number of days a week you work and to me, that is worth it. I love having my long stretches of days off at home. 😊

    It’s so much more inspirational to watch a day in the life video of healthcare worker like yours than watching a day in the life at GAFA which just shows off their staff cafeteria.

    Hello! Thank you for the video. May I ask a question in regards to grades in aged care RNs. I graduated nursing in Australia on 2021, and I have been working in an aged care in Melbourne as a casual RN since Jan 2022. As I don't have enough working experience as a RN, I have been employed as Grade 2 RN and I currently work as an EN role in my aged care facility. I was wondering how I can become grade 4 or 5 RN in an aged care? Do I need certain amount of working experience or additional education such as postgraduate to become a grade 4 or 5? Or shall I just apply for a grade 4 or 5 position in another aged care facility? But, I only worked as a RN grade 2(EN role), so I was wondering how I could work as a upper grade RN. Thank you for your time considering this question.

    Hi, i live in sutton nsw, and I'm thinking about doing the bachelor of nursing, but, i don't know if I really can while everyone has told me that it's tiring, hard, dangerous, and I have watched some videos about nursing and these old nurses where all of them saying things like it's not worth it, because of the recognition, doctors would look down on you, treat you baldly, the danger of getting all kind of diseases, the patients have the right to atack you spit on you abuse you, and you are suppose to be nice with them in return you get a bad salary you don't have time to have a personal life, and it's emotionaly draining!, what do you think? Any advice on that please?

    • @JessaMenor
      @JessaMenor  Год назад +1

      i would say it really is a draining job but ive spoken to nurses who really find nursing their passion and theyre happy doing it despite the physical and mental stress. I think you'd find something stressful in any job. What matters is whether or not you are passionate at it. So I'd suggest you think about what you really like to do. And do just that!

      That's a lot for one person. It is 1 nurse to 40 resident but the CP joins in the drug rounds, so you only attend to about 15 or sometimes 20 residents.
