I like Kida more, but I will admit, this is a cute pairing and I would not have been upset with it at all. I also like how Audrey was the first one to join Milo against Rourke after his big speech. That took a lot of courage from her, not knowing if her other friends would follow. It shows how much she cared about and trusted Milo.

I first saw Atlantis when I was about 6 and Audrey was my literal dream girl. Now as an adult, I understand fully where my love for tomboys originated from.
That's because it was, this was the era of straight to video sequels. Lower budget, lower effort. Usually completely different actors trying desperately to sound like the original cast. Oh and completely BS plotlines.
I was born 2005, fuckin agree. It's all 3D now, never thought that was better. Still don't. There's been a few standouts but for every Spiderverse there's a project that could've been done 100x better in hand-drawn animation. Doesn't help that the standard for 2D has dropped so now a 2D rig is standard for cartoons.

This is one of my Disney favorites.. The Story.., voice acting, character depth, Animation, and writing was on point.. A fun adventure ride this one is. The first one anyway., I never seen the second yet.

This movie is a classic. Better than most Disney projects nowadays. I really hope that there’s a chance of actual sequel. (I know there was this second movie, but they butchered the series with that one)
All of my favorite Disney characters when I was a little girl were unintentionally strong women of color. Audrey, Kida, Jasmine, Pocahontas, and Esmeralda were always my favorite. I didn't realize it back then when I was a little, but one of the reasons why I loved them so much was because they looked like me! Representation and strong female characters that don't need a prince are important!
Weird, because I'm a white male and my favorite characters were Mulan, Aladdin, Hercules, and Cuzco, only one of which looked anything like me. Interesting that I had an easier time relating to characters based on who they were as people rather than what they looked like... and didn't seem to gravitate to characters who shared shallow physical traits with me. It's almost like that's the non-narcissistic way to view stories or something...

A lot of Disney's sequels seemed to be phoned in back then. Like, they wanted to cash in on the original's success, but with half the effort.
I dunno, despite animation quality the worldbuilding and mythos were still very creative, and the characters were fun to watch.
