okay, viewing your review I think I got a better definition for what eusexia is. is that moment when you are really hedonistic and pursuing ephemeral happiness. and you are euphoric and kind of happy but you start to become tired of feeling so euphoric and you start to feel calm, in a weird way, and then you happen to stumble on the feeling, not the fact, the feeling that you also deserve to be loved and that you are loved and that you love others and that you love life. i don't know if anyone can relate to this but it's one of my favorite feelings.
buuut, yeah, this feeling is very ephemeral and it's a glimpse of what fulfilling activities and real connections feel like. just more intense and less stable
Yeah, I think the ambiguity of eusexua means we all can recognise that feeling in our different life experiences. For me, when I feel most at awe, my face feels a warm glow - I think that’s a kind of eusexua, an in the moment connection from body to mind 🙌
I read an additional layer into perfect stranger that most people are ini-dated with too much information or are in the habit to also seek more information on individuals through social platforms And not actually engaging in conversation or the moment. On top of the stuff you mentioned as well.

Often all the different facets of eusexua can be experienced at a rave at the same time!
AVAA 🤠 FKA Twigs is Formerly known as Twigs, because she named herself twigs because it was the sound of her knees from dancing since she was 7yo, and Twigs was already taken by another band when she bursted into fame (dancer for Jessie J, Ed Sheeran, and others, not a great experience for her). Also she adores dancing and her mom is her number 1 fan, striptease MV is a request that her mom did, she wanted to see her dancing on her own 🩵 also mentioning Billie Eilish makes a lot of sense, but Fallen Angels film by Wong Kar-Wai is kind of referenced IMO.

AAVA prof. i have a really important message to deliver to you! kelela is dropping a live album, recorded at the historic blue note jazz club, in two weeks. i don’t know if you’ve ever heard of her but please believe me when i say that she is a top 3 rnb artist of this generation, next to frank ocean and sza. although she has a very dedicated fanbase, she has never gotten the appreciation she deserves. i would love for you to consider listening to this upcoming album and maybe even doing a video on it. i was actually present at the show that was recorded for this album and it was the best performance i’ve ever been to. the music was on the level of what a contemporary sade would sound like. for a little bit of extra context, she’s signed to warp records, the same label that aphex twin and danny brown are under, so hopefully that adds some type of credibility to the level of quality that i’m describing. also she released one single for it yesterday if you would like to hear that. also MIKE is dropping an album this friday, would love to hear about that too. i always appreciate your videos, your video on blonde encouraged me to read swann’s way. thank you!
36:20 Tunnel is in Marseille, specifically Boulevard Urbain Sud. Perhaps not an explicit Diana reference but certianly draws parallels (chased into/through tunnel by car lights, symbolizing the paparazzi), but with a different outcome than Diana in the end of the video (turning to and embracing the paparazzi), reflected in the lyrics (sharing/showing her mind, stripping her heart and exposing it through an outstreched sternum).

After an evening to think on the idea, it holds up, but is likely just as much/more of a continuation from Magdelene & 'Thousand Eyes', themes of paparazzi and walking the line (literally in the MV) between privacy and performance. Even the "biblically accurate Twigs" mirrored-self at the end of the MV fits in; revealing only a small part of self to create an idol, keeping the true self private. I feel it's certainly a reclaiming & recontextualisation of that trauma; "I'm stripping my pain 'til the pain dissapaers, opening me, opening me feels like a Striptease" Unrelated to Striptease but I just bought Eusexua while picking up Arca's KiCK i, very much loving the visual similarities between the covers yet contrasting themes of abjection and eu-phoria/sexua

When I first saw the title track come out, my personal interpretation of eusexua was that the “eu” prefix had something to do with Eukaryota- the kind of biological life other than bacteria and archaea.… but then once she talked more about the album i realized that made literally no sense 😭 i completely forgot about the word euphoria

I really hated the production on this album. Having grown listening to electronic music in the 90s it felt like someone quoting your favourite book in the wrong context. I guess it was always going to be a hit or miss for me.

I am younger and don't have the context of 90s music, but I think that's kind of the point of the production. it takes inspiration from the 90s and recontextualizes the techniques within the current musical landscape. but, yeah, i empathize with what you are saying, I struggle a bit to listen to old songs, but that's probably because I don't know the proper context around it. just like (I'm assuming here, sorry if I'm wrong) you don't follow the social media/young people trends
