I realized why metalheads and hard rockers like your videos so much. Not because we want to torture you, but because these genres are being validated from a music teacher for the quality sounds they bring. Rare to hear from an educator
Pls revisit dance gavin dance. Both of the new singles are killer. Also check out shrezzerz. They're a band I think you'll really like as they take one from your own with a metal jazz kind of fusion
The video was shot in a single take. Dylan is a brilliant videographer, and this is his 4th video for Spiritbox. He also did a music video for Senses Fail in the last year, and has a short film of his own coming out fairly soon about growing up in the music scene.
Zev IS a badass, he is always right in the pocket and I really appreciate that he is never overdrumming or overcomplicating his parts. He and Josh are a tight unit.
@@swirle13 Programmed by Mike, but even Mike has said that he sends the drum tracks to Zev to let him tweak them. So, what you're saying isn't totally accurate. Zev does have a part in the writing process.
This is the last track of the Fear of Fear EP, which seems to be a throwback to their earlier stuff in some ways, with a common thread woven through the songs (think the Mara Effect). There’s a theme around too close, too late, not enough time throughout the EP. Then she switches it up to sing never too close, never too late, there’s always time at the end and it just slays me every time. Like the EP is a story of healing.
Love your reactions...highly value your opinions ... the fact you also have perfect pitch and immediately can break down the chord progressions and riff to or off of them is why I will constantly keep checking back for {almost} every upload... its very informative and I just value other peoples {qualiified musically;gifted} opinions...thank you much for your insight!
Acoustic / stripped rendition of Spiritbox tracks, Courtney singing and David on keys. I'd be all for this. (Let's never forget how good that strings/acoustic Constance version was!)
You gotta check out the band, between the buried and me, extremophile elite live session. It’s got a horn and string section you’ll love. And the drummer is nuts.
6:15 thats something so special about music David! We dont even particularly get to chose what sound really resosnates with us but we feel it intuitivly as we listen. Its almost like we're tuning to a radio frequency right? You listen to a pice of music over here, and its not really doing it for you, too much of this not enough of that, keep tuning that dial. And then bam! Crystal clear you come across an artist like Spirit Box that so perfectly Resonates with you. The sound sounds right to you
Kind sir, I've watched your videos for a while now and love how into things you get, please do a reaction to "blood sport" by sleep token, ik you've reacted to a lot by them but it's a perfect song for you
You know... when you start riffing on metal on your piano, it feels like something you could probably do more of in your videos and it would become something people would go wild over.
Hi David!! 1) other commenters may have noted this, but it seems Spiritbox has been on an EP kick lately. They've done three 3-track EPs in the last year or so ... Rotoscope, Cellar Door, The Fear of Fear. You've now reviewed two of the three tracks on Fear of Fear. If you take on the screaming insanity of "Angel Eyes" you'll have all three. I dare you to do it! 🙂 2) I don't think I've ever donated money to a YT channel before. After all your work covering my two faves (DGD and Spiritbox), I'm changing that. 3) total aside, but if you see this comment -- do you like Tori Amos? I'd love to see your reaction to some of her classics, or even her new stuff.
Sorry to break it to anyone, but apart from drum clean ups to make sure its playable live. The drums are all midi. Micheal the guitarist programmed all the drums.
I'm not super familiar with Spiritbox, but i might have to check them out now. Also, I'm m going to comment this while it's still fresh in my mind after the concert. I can't recommend you check out In This Moment, enough, secifically, Black Wedding. I really think you'd like it. Other songs I'd recommend are Roots, Blood and Whore.
Just go ahead and round it out by reacting to the rest of the EP. The Fear of Fear. Cellar Door and Angel Eyes are great songs that show off the heavy side of the band.
Hello Mr I would like to request a band for you: Band-Maid They Lollapalooza festival performance was awesome this year. The songs Dice &Hate you find here on YT.You will enjoy that I promise 😉
Bring me the Horizon finally dropped a video (live performance) to Kingslayer ft Babymetal... And it's a killer performance. Also JORDAN FISH left the band today like WTF!
@@MusicShed yes I'm so sad about Jordan like wtf... Jordan was such a boon for who they are today, it has the flavorings of "creative differences" though they didn't cite. With how long it's been since the EP dropped I have a feeling it's this creative downtime between albums and their singles slow-drip something must have been unbalanced in their expectations not sure who's strategy it was or what the unrest truly was about but wow what a buzzkill.. ugh it made me sick... Like not like finding out about Petty, Cornell, Weiland sick more like... Damn they've become so enjoyable I wonder what's next kind of sick cuz I'm sure it doesn't look the same at all...
This video must have been a pain. They speed up and down the video which while filming they have to do the opposite on set. So if the video is slow mo then the audio playback on set is sped up. And the fast and glitch part the on set playback is slowed way down. All the speed changes are crazy to keep her lips synced to the track.
Amazing chorus! But Jaded is the best track overall Please react: Northlane - Dante Silent Planet - Antimatter Invent Animate - Without A Wisper Such atmospheric and my favorite songs of the last few months
Hi there - i just looked into your list of Artists and was quite surprised that you as a Jazz musician never reacted to Angelina Jordan - she got Jazz in her mothermilk and started singing Jazz at age 7 - Angelina won her National Talentshow at age 7/8 singing Billy Hollyday, George Gershwin and Dinah Washington - she jazzify every Cover she does and maybe watch her first Original song "What is life" written at age 11 - today at age 17 she already performed around the world and has signed with Republic Records at age 14 - Angelina got her own Studio by Republic but will not be promoted on demand from the family until she finishes school - i will put a link below at age 11 Singing Billy Hollyday "I am a fool to want you" for you to get a picture - cheers from Germany ruclips.net/video/79tM-Spcr1Q/видео.htmlsi=-RK51nvHqZbPSiRA

I also feel like he appreciates metal more by reacting to it. It goes both ways.
You nailed it!
Spiritbox never disappoints
You should listen to the band/song Sky Eats Airplane - World Between us along with so many others, Giants in the ocean by them as well.
Pls revisit dance gavin dance. Both of the new singles are killer. Also check out shrezzerz. They're a band I think you'll really like as they take one from your own with a metal jazz kind of fusion

I would love to see your reaction to Cellar Door which is a complete contrast to the lovely, ambient melodies of Ultraviolet and Too Close.
Zev IS a badass, he is always right in the pocket and I really appreciate that he is never overdrumming or overcomplicating his parts. He and Josh are a tight unit.
Agree. Spiritbox really struck gold when both Zev and Josh joined the band.
Not to take anything away from Zev, the drums were programmed on this EP. He did play the drums for Rotoscope EP though.
Mike writes all of the instrument parts, guitar, bass, and drums. They even state this on their official Instagram as of last week

that's what i'm here for!
Acoustic / stripped rendition of Spiritbox tracks, Courtney singing and David on keys. I'd be all for this. (Let's never forget how good that strings/acoustic Constance version was!)
Yes going to see en hear them this friday in Amsterdam!!!
7:00 is Gold. thanks man!
Please react to too close to touch "eiley" the amount of emotion in that song is something you'll connect with instantly
Dan Braunstein is the main producer who’s worked with them since Eternal Blue. Really talented guy.
3:12 😂😂😂😂

Both these Spirtbox reacts made my day thoday!!! I love when you play your melodies recreating the sound a bit.

Please play more on piano in your videos. Mooooreee!!!
Awesome reaction, but the fact that Invent Animate hasn’t been on this channel yet is criminal
freakin enjoyed it a ton. top and super unique. 😍😍😍Recently I've been addicted to October Ends' new song. Reacting to it would be awesome 🤘
you should listen to the acoustic version of when we die by yungblud! just came out today!
You know... when you start riffing on metal on your piano, it feels like something you could probably do more of in your videos and it would become something people would go wild over.
Or, they’d totally hate it!!! 😂

Same with bass - mike plays it on recordings. That's okay, it sounds good, and they can do it live.

Billy Royalton absolutely, opportunity to further honor Tim seems worth it to me.
