- Senior Red Bull figures have privately informed journalists of their concerns at the competitiveness of the Ferrari project built by Fred Vasseur, with Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc expected to be joined by Adrian Newey in their 2026 regulation challenge. McLaren also expect to compete for the title next season after the Miami breakthrough for Lando Norris.

No one assumes that, but the championship will is something else. There’s a reason a lot of the time Max, Lewis, Alonso are beating their teammates quite handily during the races. I realize Lewis isn’t doing that consistently with George but I have insufficient information about how much testing and setup is affecting this but over the course of last year it wasn’t close.

Possibly. But not 100% sure this is going to happen. Especially if Mclarens upgrades are this good. And now with Ferrari bringing a massive upgrade package. Dont let your Dutch bias show. Max might win a few more races this year. But if McLarens upgrades are this good and this is just the first round of them. Max might be in a spot of bother the rest of the season.

Adrian should take-over the technical direction of the sport at FOM. (We may even end-up with non-hybrid eFuel V8’s with blown diffusers…we can live in hope)

To say the Red Bull will win is in my opinion jumping the gun. If we look at the now, there is two teams are showing growth in there performance, they certainly can upset the top four positions, so if Max thinks it’s a done deal, he not focussing where it counts. Every race is important., you can only race one day at a time.

If the final year is more competitive cause more team have caught up... then why change... leave it as is... so the supporters can have better racing.
That’s the thing, the final year is only competitive because of the regulation change. Teams don’t develop on the cars as much or not at all and entirely focused on the next reg cars, allowing the next few fastest teams close in on the fastest team

I’m sensing a McLaren like resurgence for Mercedes this year
The McLaren resurgence was in the works before the season even started, they knew they were gonna be bad in the beginning and they knew what they had to do to improve. They didn't just come up with it mid season. Mercedes thought they were gonna be good coming into the season, and they don't seem to know how to improve. No shot.

The Top 3 arent counted towards your budget. Lewis, Charles and (possibly Newey) could be the top 3 salaries. Thus making the rest of the teams salaries not that much of an impact.

Surely if Newey goes to Ferrari next year , he is not going to have that much of an effect on the their if he comes halfway through the 2025 season as developments would of been all decided and in the manufacturing process.
If sainz goes to Redbull he will take points of max for sure, so maybe keeping Perez is in their best interests.
Piastri was on Verstappen's pace, Norris was a 10th faster. Brown said Piastri's car was 2 tenths slower than Norris'. I think Maclaren should be strong in Imola as if Piastri gets a full update package, they'll have better strategy options than Red Bull. Ferrari? That will be interesting as well, but I'm not sure how much Carlos is willing to work with the team these days
Newey is going to help build the 🇬🇧 new tempest fighter plane. To replace the typhoon in 2035.
I don't agree with the comment about verstappen. Anytime verstappen isn't starting from the front or has to challenge other drivers with equal machinery he bottles in a tight challenge. Moans and whines on the radio or makes mistakes. The true test will be when the playing field is equal I don't believe he is anywhere near as good as those that have come before him. Way too many driver aids and buttons to push now to give drivers an edge.
The logic regarding Perez not taking points from Max is flawed because they are both fighting against all drivers. Therefore, your teammate's performance has an equal effect as any other driver.

Yes, Newey is brilliant, but let's not act like he can't be out innovated.
IT is a narrative brought about by LH fans and British media that Adrian Newey is OP and it is an unfair advantage for RBR and it's dominance is exaggerated immensely to belittle Max's achievements.
Funny how Max is sleeping at the wheel of a Newey Rocketship now Newey must go to Ferrari to get the best out of Hamilton.
They did but the man's track record is stellar.
With a PU down on power, he still managed to create cars that were excellent aerodynamically and chassis wise even during Merc's dominant period. Tracks such as Monaco, Austria, Mexico and Singapore spring to mind, where he managed to have the best car for those tracks in some instances.
The above is worthy of applause from me, and he has consistently created cars in the top 3 year after year. He has been perhaps the most consistent designer of the last 15+ years at least.
Newey dominance has traditionally only been ended by changes in regulations putting more onus on PU performance, or, having teams such as Ferrari, where they can brute force development at two test tracks such as during the Brawn-Schumacher era.
The most equal designers deserving a mention includes Aldo Costa, who (I think) has a better track record than Allison. Don't quote me, but it's very close. This is also one of the reasons I think Merc are performing poorly now. Andy Cowell leaving was another, as well as the 220 engineers that were poached by just one team (RBR).

As a Former LH fan Lewis he's not the same, he will put up a fight but out of 10 he will lose 7. You need to have a very strong car and strong moves to beat Max even though im not a team Max at all. It's a rare moment admittedly, but perhaps all should have listened to Jos Verstappen, (Max's father) predicted.
The imploding of RedBull Racing has already begun, because the allegedly super- 'dodgy' Christian Horner remains in the team and is selfishly and stubbornly holding on to power.
A high number of development engineers (a lot poached from Mercedes) are following Adrian Newey out of RedBull looking for jobs in other teams. . .
Should 'advisor' Dr Helmut Marko and current world champion Max Verstappen both leave (for Mercedes), then RedBull will take years to recover. . .
Next year all this bollocks about working with Lewis will be the biggest soggy nappy in F1 when Lewis starts at the back and gets sod all points all season 😂😂😂Lol
Newey is the best, but, I don't want Newey to go to Ferrari. If he does, then everyone will say Ferrari only won because of Adrian Newey. Ferrari are so close now it proves they don't really need him. I'm also against Lewis going to Ferrari, they don't need him either.
