This Diorama was done about 20 years ago!!!So, the figures are done in a very old school/ basic way.
The paint was Humbrol enamels.(i don't use enamels for general paint anymore only for weathering effects cause its too toxic)
Clothing is as follow: Basecoat color then Dark wash and or pin wash then dry brush then detail painting.
Face: Basecoat then apply a somewhat thick application of burnt umber oil paint and removed most of it with cotton ear swab leaving a small amount into the recesses but letting it fade in...then dry brush a lighter tone. then paint the eyes...
It is important to use very good quality brush and learn to take care of them. When someday i finally did that move, it really improved the results and is so much more fun and easier to do .
I now use Winsor and Newton Series 7 brushes. 3 sizes only a #0 a #1 and a #2. with Vallejo paint and game workshop acrylic colors and washes.
