Maybe you know what to do, after dry brushing give the oil paint a good amount of drying time (12 to 24 hrs)before you go on and seal your paint job with an acrylic varnish.
Great technique, particularly with the faces. There is debate about whether to paint the whites of the eyes in 1/35 scale. I believe figures look more alive if the whites of the eyes are painted. Proper shading around the eye and the right size pupil is key. Your steady hand makes it look easier than it is. I prefer to paint figures with acrylics but it can be challenging to shade and highlight because they dry so fast. I will try using oils for that in future.
Hey Paul, thank you and there is always the discussion about painting eyes on 1/35 figures. I´ll try to keep the eyes as little as possible to avoid big comic like manga eyeballs. Sometimes eyes are looking good, sometimes not. Sometimes it depends on the modelling abilities of the manufacturer. Painting with oils makes it a little bit easier to erase mistakes, but the drying time is long.
Very nice painting on the figures, I never thought about using oils over acrylics for highlights. I have been experimenting with glazes but it is good to know there are other methods to try. Thanks 👍
I typically don’t pint the eyes of 1/35 figure. Just use dark color wash it. Nobody really care what colors of the eyes and what direction their eyes looking to for this small ratio figure. I think it give more nature facial expression.
I know what you mean. It is always a challenge to paint eyes on small scale figures and I am never hundred percent satisfied with eye ball painting but I like it to give every new miniature a new try for an individual facial expression. Thanks for your comment and have a nice weekend.
Hello Joao, you can dilute Tamiya acrylics with ordinary tab water but they dry very soon. For a longer drying time you can dilute them with isopropyl alcohol but this choice is expensive. I use Tamiya acrylic colours only as a base coat. If you want to paint only with acrylics a wet pallet is helpful.
Terrific work.... I just added you to my subscribe list. Fine job, sir. Loved the figures. Who do you buy your Warrior figures from? Name of supplier? Please 😃
Hello Monty, thank you so much for your sub. Highly appreciated. The figures I used are from "Stalingrad Miniatures". A russian manufacturer but with a worldwide distribution I think. I´m from germany and I purchase my figures and other stuff from local online suppliers here in germany. Maybe you are from U.S. or U.K., you can look for figures by Andy´s Hobby Headquarter. As I know he provides a world wide distribution with online stores in U.S. and Europe. I hope you find what you want and I wish you a nice weekend.
Thank you James, in this case they are from a russian manufacturer called "Stalingrad". You can search for Stalingrad miniatures in the net. In my opinion, the figures are too expensive for the quality offered.
@@DIORAMUS- I also build models a bit, returning to the hobby after a 20-year break. I currently have a Cromwell from Tamiya in 1/35 scale. I admire the precision of painting. The figures are very difficult to paint. You came out very nice. Greetings from Poland.
Super to see a knocked out T-34 !
Hey Gerry, only abandoned usable as "Beutepanzer"😁

I usually blend oils at the boarders but I will try your dry brush technique. Thx.

@@DIORAMUS- I use the Winston Newton oils that are water soluble. They have a shorter drying time.
OK, good solution.👍
NICELY DONE!
Thanks derf😃

Hi, could you tell me what you use to dilute the Tamiya acrylics to use on the brush.

What was the brand of figures?
Search for "Stalingrad Miniatures" in the web. I hope you will find them.
Have a nice weekend.

Your work is really awesome...but it would be more awesome if you told more of the story. Thanks
Thank you Darryl, which story do you mean? The historical background or more info about the work? I'll pay more attention to that in the next videos.
Which brand are the figures?
Hello Sebastian, the figures are from "Stalingrad". You can search the internet for Stalingrad miniatures.
I wonder who made those figures?I have a early t34 I would love to get a set of those figures and do a diorama just like his.he did a great job!

Damn 😀, how did they want to win this war when they listened to such music?
The Russians listened to "Kalinka, Kalinka maya".
Muhahaha 😂
