One of the absolute best figure painting tutorials out there. AWESOME job man.
Stunning figures. Nice to see the variety of colour of the uniforms. Thanks for sharing
Thanks Steve, I couldn't paint them all in one shade, gotta have the mix and match look !
Absolutely amazing!
This is the best figure painting tutorial I have seen - inspiring!
*What a pleasure to follow your painting on figurines, every step is clearly explained. 👍👍😍*
Thanks mate !
Beautiful! Would you consider making a video where you use “beginner basic” tools/techniques? Would be very helpful to see great models being made with just a paintbrush and some basic weathering techniques
lovely work, a pleasure to watch.
Lovely result! Fantastic video.
Truly amazing how you bring the figures to life
Many thanks John
painstaking work, the finish is lovely. great work
Great vid. Love me some DAK. I can't wait to see the completed diorama. I also want to say thank you for introducing me to VMS products.
Your welcome Billy, they make some really good stuff, the dio will be on the way, either during or after the next project!
Such amazing work, James. Your channel is a must for all modellers regardless of their experience. Will be looking out for the next episode to see what other marvels you will be creating. Thank you!
Thanks Robbo, I'm pleased with the progress the channel is making thats for sure !

Well done! Some of the best I’ve seen! Amazing tutorial - thank you! 👍
OUTSTANDING, James! Very nice figures enhanced may fold by your painting. Rifle stock and pistol holster especially fine. Thanks, too, for the written call outs on the colors you used.
Thankyou Lawrence! Much appreciated
Thank you for this video! I've been waiting for a detailed explanation of figure painting. It's best to learn from an expert!
Thanks Nacho much appreciated !
Very well explained and illustrated. Thanks!
Terrific Video, James. Really enjoyed watching it as it brought happy memories from my adolescent days when much of my spare time was consumed modelling Tamiya 1/35 Armoured Vehicles and Military Miniatures figurines. I love your detailed technique which was a joy to watch. You really bring these DAK figures to life and I have to say they are one the best that I have seen. I look forward to seeing some more of your Videos and I have also subscribed. Thank you for sharing your wonderful Video with us. Stay safe and God bless.
Now 'm very happy, because I could watch your painting from start to the end. Also I got a lot from this video.
Thanks for uploading.
Thankyou, I'm glad you enjoyed the whole process !

Amazing work.
Great tutorial,I’ve just finished a load of figures and to be honest they look like my 2 year old nephew painted them but they are the first ones I’ve done so watching these tutorials are a must watch for me and probably many others out there ,, absolute master class my friend 👍👍👍
It's not sorry. it's mediocre and miles away from masterclass lock down models its nice to be nice but one should stay on the carpet with it
@@markusadanitsch648 Wow, we’re so lucky to have RUclips expert in the comments! But I can’t find your “Master class” video showing a far superior technique. 🤷♀️ It must be still in editing! 😹 Do you have any progress on your work and teachings of the greatest techniques? 🏆 The RUclips is waiting anxiously, please, Sir! ⌛️
Beautiful work again. Keep the videos going, I really enjoy them

Magnífico para mí la escala de 1/35 es ideal para pintar en todos sus detalles tanto como romanos medieval Napoleón o el siglo 20 le felicito mi vista llano es tan buena como la silla gracias por compartir
Heilige strosak!!!

I use blue tack on top of a wine bottle top screw type and push it on to a cork it makes a great cheap figure holder.

Excelente!!!
Thanks !
You did a great job on painting you figure I have been painting figures for over 40 years and I love watching how you paint your figure you have a nice day and be safe
Thanks a lot !
these are the most beautifully painted figures I've ever seen i swear. i just got a Tamiya 35 scale tank #35378 and it has 5 DAK figures. Also im gonna see if a store in my province of Ontario will source the Scale75 figures for me, they import the busts and more expensive sculpts, i dont see why they wouldn't get those for me.
i got a story for ya. so im disappointed with vallejo so much i started switching my paints over to AK Interactive, the 3rd gen 236 line and the new 3rd gen figure line. I purchased a vallejo Panzer Aces 70.310 old wood and i was expecting a nice beige almost buff color, and what did i get? brown. i messaged vallejo, do you think they got back to me? lol. so it made me think if they mess one one color they must've messed up more before and they will continue doing so. I have 70 vallejo model and panzer aces paints i can wipe my butt with.
Amazing I love to paint figures like you I use tamiya
Paints I guess I need to buy Vallejo paints
Vallejo are brilliant for figures, you can just keep layering them and the coverage is really good.
James@LPJ Models - Excellent figure painting Tutorial video. Question: Vallejo Model Colors dry a bit slower which enable you to do the needed color blending when you add on each layer of color?
Hello Mr. Peter, most of the time I'm building up gradual layers of slightly darker or lighter colour, the layers aren't blended as such into the previous layer but optically blended with slight colour shifts each layer.
Belle réussite de ces figurines avec refs !! Il aurai fallu indiquer la période et ou ....Félicitations ....
Well saved that sunny tone is not a favourite of mine! My friend just got all the scale 75 products in so got a good few sets to try and some British figures
Thanks mate ! They look like good paints
amazing tutorial. But I have only one suggestion.
The skin is very pale. Keep in mind that they are from the Afrika Korps, they are in the middle of the desert, therefore the skin should be much more tanned and perhaps with some dust.
Excellent!!!
Could you show us how to blend colors on faces, clothes...etc in 1:16 scale, in more detail & more slowly(step by step)?
I dont have any 1/16 figures at the moment but I'm not ruling it out, maybe in the future ! Thankyou for the kind words
👍👍👍
great video trying to paint some tarp for the kettenkraftrad maybe the figures but the colours you blend them very thin or?
Always very thin :)
This was very informative; thanks! I just wonder if the figures' skin surfaces are as yellow as they appear next to your normal-looking fingers...? They seem a little jaundiced in the video!
Thanks ! This was the first video recorded with my latest phone so things were a bit off, they aren't as yellow in person, the final shots reflect the true colour properly
What color did you end up painting the pack for the extra MP-40 magazines on his waist?
lit
Stunning work James!!
Can ask a question regarding the VMS Binder is it similar to odoreless thinners?
Hi Dave sorry for the delay, its not like odourless thinners no. Its a binder meaning it turns into a weathering paint sort of thing.
@@lpjmodels HI James, not a problem thank you for that.
Amazing work , What do you use at thinner? Water, medium, thinner?
Thanks ! Just water from the tap
nice job, but i dont understand something... how your valejo paint can be flat ? Mine as a glossy finish except if i put a mat varnish coat. And for the video, do you skip a step ? Because your paint job as perfectly blend and i see nothing lol (Sorry for my bad english, i am a french speacker)
I recognize the pointing guy as my opa
I am trying to understand what the clear box is with your colors in it.Is this wet napkins inside the clear box? Is this used to stop the paint from drying? Thanks and ill keep watching your video's .
Its a Wet Palette, a useful tool, you can make your own from a sandwich box (airtight) and some wet pallete refills for cheap if you shop around.
Keeps the paint wet for days !
i think i asked you this before, but the pants you say you mixed with English uniform, Buff, and Ivory for the tan. Those are the pants correct? but the dude with the mp40 is his top a solid English uniform, like the dude with the rifles his top's a solid Russian Uniform WWII?
Sorry for the late reply my man, I used various shades of the English uniform, buff and ivory for the tan uniform. Just to add a bit of variation. English uniform on its own is way too deep !
@@lpjmodels thanks for the reply. so i recently acquired a vallejo panzer aces color 70.310 Old Wood and its nowhere close to the hue it's supposed to be. i did a lil more digging and its not just me but other people have a problem with vallejo consistency. for example olive green today won't be olive green tomorrow from a different batch. I'm thinking of switching to AK interactive 3rd gen, any thoughts on them or their consistency?
Awesome......can u recommend me what are the best brand to buy colours/paint.
At last I seem to have found a expert who understands that military figures and vehicles are not a gloss finish!
Thanks !
