- After a flight across the country we bought a Foxbody Mustang to build and road trip to the NASCAR Chicago Street Race. Today we show you the massive parts haul we ordered at @JimmyOakes shop! @@ClaytonF10 he has maybe 5 guys working for him and only 1 helps with the builds. Just 999,995 short of a million, but it’s close.
Not to mention he's just building cars for himself and events.....it's for his channel. There's really nothing "on his plate" he does what he likes and is lucky other people enjoy it too.
Jimmy is a solid dude. Just like LZ. You bring the homies with you. And if you have watched him long enough you can see people have come and gone. The whole ct crew is fun to watch shoutout djnoway!

Yep, they’re only original once. Hopefully they keep all the original parts so whoever ends up with it can restore it.
No need for a wrap, white on red interior is the way to go !
Can I make a suggestion. If your going to slide the car around or add power think about sub frame connectors. Foxbodys are known for a lot of body roll, and on one with a sunroof it's so easy to tweak the body. But love to see the project coming along
If the red interior is staying, I feel the blue wrap might clash a little too much. But regardless, I hope we see some Weld wheels for this thing

It brings a tear to my eye for you guys to modify a clean Foxbody, and I'm not even a Mustang guy. So, onward to episode three!

I love this style of video where they just crank out the car and we can see real time progress and also the joking around that happens throughout the project
Love that you are working on an older mustang. Like MIckey i was in high school when I drove one of these. You guys are changing so much I kinda wish you had a lessor example. This thing is a time capsule and now it won't be. I have mixed feelings.
I like the stock body parts. I think the stock front end looks good. The front diffuser would look good if it attached to the stock one to make it lower. I like the rear diffuser and new head/tail ligjts. I'd convert lights to LED & keep it white & red stock colors. Vented hood is OK if it actually helps cooling and won't hurt anything if you get caught in the rain.
But that's just like my opinion or something man.

The animations were awesome in this one. Props to the editor💪🏆 those trail lights are also called "cheese graders" 🤮 the SN95 spindles and rear end are usually used for the 5 lug conversion. They are cheap and plentiful. Cobra front brakes, borgeson solid steering shaft, sub-frame connectors and a brass T5 shifter cup with washers replacing the shifter stick rubber are great first upgrades that really change how these cars feel when driving.
Cutting that hood is gonna hurt. Your car, you do you. But ouch.

....bought a new Mustang GT 5speed my Senior year in '89 and about 7 years later bout a '91 GT 5speed --> love this car that you picked up for this project --> would be a hard choice to modify this car because it is in such great shape; but - also great to see a project such as this one and can't wait to see the final outcome....

Looking at that dmax style hood vent, I could imagine a set of Work VSKF for this.
Oh, please go over the headlight harness from the headlights AND fog lights all the way to the switch. These are KNOWN heavily for overheating and melting. The wires are undersized, and get hot.

Nice project car to start with! I've currently got a 90 LX with 90k original miles on it that I'm building a 460 w SCJ heads to go in it! Gnna be a playtoy for street and strip! Hey! Are you guys gonna reuse the louvers for the rear glass? If not I'll pay P&H to ship it down here to VA as I would love to have a set for mine! I'm going for an old school look with the phone dial 10 hole wheels on it, but the rears are a 15x9 from LMR.. really cool look!
You guys need to put some frame connectors on the car, plus I'm not sure what throttle body you guys have but use the 70mm accufab one they are the best and should work great with the system max intake , and do some underdrive pulleys and a 373 or 410 rear gear if you don't already have it, that will wake the car up for sure , glad too see the build btw clean car
“We hate louvers ! Let’s ditch the louvered lights and the window louvers!” And… then add louvers on the hood.😂
It’s so cool to know that throtl is going to unveil the mustang at the Chicago Nascar street race. I’m a huge nascar fan so this is a collab I never thought would happen.

Wish I could afford you guys to do my 2003 Audi A4 😢 but I definitely learned a lot from you guys I spend two weekends wet sanding the bad clear coat spots I'm hoping that the next 6 months or so I'll get to change the break system rotors calipers shoes and lines

Just so yall know as somebody who almost exclusively works on old small block mustangs that intake without upgrading the heads is going to net you all of 10 horsepower. The heads and tbe cam are much more limiting than the intake ever were. With a good setup of heads cam and intake that are matched correctly you can make about 400 wheel on the higher end of the spectrum. But the two biggest flaws besides the heads are the transmission. That with sticky tires and a good grab of the clutch will blow at stock power. And the upper torque boxes which with sticky tires and mild suspension mods will tear out the floor where the upper control arm bolts in.

Hate those hard coolant lines that they put on top of the intake. I swapped a 5.0 into a ranger and had to do lower intake gaskets on in after driving it for awhile. should have been an easy job but those lines made it a pain
Instead of cutting the original hood, did you check out cervinis’s selection of hoods and body parts? They are made right in south Jersey not to far from the Philly airport
Not doing rear uca/lca? With that size of a tire you’ll probably have to remove the quad shocks and the stock arms aren’t going to do much to prevent wheel hop.
I wouldn't remove door molding unless you have new ones I've stripped on for paint an we had to replace them because they warp an dont look right when put back on
I’ve had 4 different foxes from 95 till now. My last one was in 2002. I kept my first, the rest got traded/sold/scrapped. This one is a just like the one I kept forever. They are only original once, 25k is probably 2/3k in my throw around money world. I’d have spent less and not disturbed such a time capsule. Wimbledon white w a porno red interior and that low of miles😢. I’m just a fox body guy that is glad I still kept mine.

Been building foxes my whole life and a stock 5.0 ho motor are very restricted , the intake and the stock e7 ports are so small you can almost cover them with a penny. I woulda put a cam in that car to match the intakes rpm operating range .

In my country, Indonesia. if you get an old rare car (Mustang is very rare in my country) especially with like brand new car like this, all you have to do is park it in the garage and if someday you want to sell it you will be very rich because in my country for hobby is very expensive. I'd be interested to know what the Profit from Resale parts added up to from this project. The people restoring fox body's have to be prowling this video salivating over what parts you are removing and not re-using.
