Lyrics:
Everybody
Don't want no war,
'Cos we're too young to die,
So many people,
All around the world,
Seen their brothers fry.
What's the motive?
In your madness.
You've made my people cry.
So politicians this time
Keep your distance.
'Cos we're too young to die.
You know we're too young to die,
You know we're too young to die,
You know we're too young to die,
You know we're too young to die,
What's the answer?
To our problems.
I think we've gone too high,
Little children,
Never said a word now,
But still they have to die.
It won't be long.
Dancing like we do now,
To put this sad world right.
So don't you worry,
Suffer no more,
'Cos we're too young to die. Видеоклипы
It’s crazy. Despite being made in 1993, this feels like it is from the 70s and something futuristic at the same time.
Could’ve been made in modern times as a retro tune

I'm fortunate that my kids love real music with instruments. I know that each generation is different, but it pains me that so many kids don't listen to anything with real funk elements. So much of hip-hop right now is simply mumbling over boring trap beats. At least our generation had musical diversity in our favor...

Rechercher dans le domaine en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funk_musicen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Funk_music
Funk is a music genre that originated in African American communities in the mid-1960s when musicians created a rhythmic, danceable new form of music through a mixture of soul, jazz, and rhythm and blues (R&B). It de-emphasizes melody and chord progressions and focuses on a strong rhythmic groove of a bassline played by an electric bassist and a drum part played by a percussionist.....
According to the words of J.K. himself, the singer of jamiroquai "My mission is to bring back funk and disco....."
Now if your mission is to "bring back something from the past" you can be a decent band, you can be a great band, but cannot be "ahead of your time", this is not how creativity works motherfuckers !

I remember back in the day in '93 when this track came out. I sat in front of the tv watching MTV. I was hooked on it from the first time these funky tunes hit my eardrums. The vibe is so strong and positive that to this day it puts into an instant chill mode no matter how streesed out I may be. From that day on I was a fan of Jamiroquai. Sweet memories.
Found this play list, just track after track of amazing tunes and forgotten memories, feeling good

"You made my people cry". Masterpiece track. Peace to all the victims of the unfairness of History, atrocities, slavery, wars. Peace to the Native Americans. I hope war & human madness will end on this planet if we are not destroyed by it before.
you saw the message in it, others just see it as a song.
But why did you mention Native Americans in a separate phrase?
Almost everyone was a victim to the unfairness of history, slavery, and wars.
Hell, Native Americans were brutalizing and enslaving each other long before Europeans came along.

A musical genius? You mean he's a culture vulture
Jamiroquai was so underrated, and they were way before their time. Some of their lyrics music and their videos were incredible. I love Jamiroquai.
Sad that this song can't be spoken of in a past tense because it is still VERY RELEVANT today!

Featured on Now 26, available on Amazon. First discovered it on 100% Dance Volume 4, released in 1994, a year after this track was released. The opening stringed element at the beginning is the highlight and I think it was sampled.
With all the turmoil in the world right now, I can't help but listen to this over and over again.
I love all the details about this video: The birds flying at the beggining, the sunset, his hat,his clothes, his dance's move's,the jacket of iroquai's tribu, all is beautiful,he feels proud about his origins and his ancestral times,¡i love this guy and his voice!.
The meaning seems more relevant to me now than at the time. So bad we have to go all over it again and I don't believe it is for the better this time. Still one of the best bass lines ever.

as a small child growing up in Europe in the late 90s, Jamiroquai had a great impact on me. the weird hats, the interesting "space" music, Jay Kay's fast cars, the iconic dances, the super cool Godzilla soundtrack and video...all defining childhood memories. I mostly listen to hardcore punk and noisy jazz, and it's interesting that several of my friends who listen to extreme, underground music also reported the same fondness for Jamiroqua as a child.
