Lyrics:
Oh yeah, what we're living in (let me tell ya)
It's a wonder man can eat at all
When things are big that should be small
Who can tell what magic spells we'll be doing for us
And I'm giving all my love to this world
Only to be told
I can't see
I can't breathe
No more will we be
And nothing's going to change the way we live
Cos' we can always take but never give
And now that things are changing for the worse,
See, its a crazy world we're living in
And I just can't see that half of us immersed in sin
Is all we have to give these -
Futures made of When You Gonna Learn now
Always seem to, be govern'd by this love we have
For useless, twisting, our new technology
Oh, now there is no sound - for we all live underground
Saddest thing about this.. 25 years on... nothing has changed. Apparently we're never gonna learn.
Dear Donald Trump
This is when Jamiroquai was the most powerful. Not a brand, not a company, a bunch of youth speaking up about issues they believe should be spoken about. Seasoned by the everlasting new wave that only JK knows how to make! Brilliant.
And in 2020, this is more relevant than ever.
real music, real message
I think they accidentally put Virtual Insanity lyrics in the description
this song is way more relevant now than as it was 30 years ago. we've got governments caring more about banning harmless social media apps than banning assault rifles and helping the environment. the world is going backwards rather than forwards.
This song was SO ahead of its time, it must have hurt JK that it didn't have the commercial success it should have done.
Only 5 million? Humanity 🤦🏻♂️
Emergency on Planet Earth is such a killer album from start to finish.
the saxophone and didgeridoo is amazing sounding in this
I remember when this song came out. I was 14 years old, and was a big Queen fan at that moment. The first time i heard When You Gonna Learn on tv, i was hooked up. Jamiroquai became a part of my life, and i could not get enough of their albums from the 90´s. Nowdays i still listen to their albums, but one thing is for sure. Emergency On Planet Earth is still today an album, that´s epic. Even if 20 years have passed, the message is still strong.
Man, the bass is so damn funky.
One of the most beautiful songs of Jamiroquai...
The most danceable protest of all, love it!
One of my favorite bands of All time
Still Jamiroquai's finest moment IMHO. Being there in 1993 and hearing this come on the radio (!) for the first time was something else - what an impact this song had, especially back then - the groove, lyrics/message, chord progression, arrangement - all perfect - and still as up-to-date as ever, hasn't dated a bit, yet it take me back to the early '90s. Peace.
Jamiroquai's fans fell in love with this masterpiece!
デビューした当初からほんとオシャレ
this is the song of Jamiroquai where you can most hear the passion, both in the singer's voice and performance, and in the instruments players, so I believe
