The fact that you were ready to throw hands every time Warner and/or Vivienne were being snarky to Elle is just the best part of this reaction.
I thought that Owen was the younger brother
@@nancyomalley6286 Is he? Luke's wiki says he's the youngest of the three Wilsons.
@@y2kmermaid64 I guess Luke just seems 'older'-He gives off that 'oldest in the family' vibe
ok you were hilarious doing this..that is a compliment..sarcasm rules..my hilarious comment was not sarcasm...lol
I love that this movie has a female protagonist who is so unabashedly feminine and is still smart, nice, hardworking and loyal. Plus the female friendships are pretty wholesome too. There a bit of a tiff with Vivian, but they do sort it out. But otherwise, the sorority sisters are all supportive. Its just nice not seeing the film rely too hard on a women are catty trope.
“What like it’s hard?”
**Iconic**
Best line.
A perfect score on the LSAT is 180. Elle got a 179! She didn’t just pass the test she DESTROYED IT 💕
The minimum to pass is 175-A 5 point window! It's a miracle anyone gets in to law school
"Why does that guy sound like owen wilson?"
Me: Luke ... Wilson 😂😂😂
Him: Why does he sound really close to Owen Wilson?
Me: ... Should we tell him?
😁
hahaha I couldnt tell if he was serious with that, they look so similar too!
No kidding that is news to me😅
Yup. That’s Owens little brother. 🤗❤️
That’s what I thought😂
No, he'll figure it out
"what like it's hard?" Is not only iconic, but it would have hit Warner sooo hard cuz Warner's been working towards Harvard his whole life and later Vivian tells us he was waitlisted and daddy had to make a call, meanwhile Elle just woke up one day and decided "I don't need backups, I'm going to Harvard" and crushes the admissions requirements. Such a fun movie with some great messages (:
I love that you noticed how Elle departed from her signature pink color throughout her time at law school. The costume department did an awesome job of showing how she wanted to fit in and didn’t feel like she could do that being her true self while at law school until the end 💕
The guy who plays Emmett is Owen Wilsons brother if i remember right :P
Yep, Luke Wilson ✌🏻 You got it
I just learned that from the Movie Budz reaction to this
I personally love that Vivienne and Elle realize competing over men isn't worth it and become friends. It's pretty common for women to feel threatened by other women rather than realizing their dude is the problem, so I'm glad it was addressed
They have something in common. Both were used by Warner as props to support his life and ambitions.
actually i would say that it's common for that to be portrayed in movies and tv shows so much that people think it must be true to real life, when it's not. of course some women don't realize their skeezy s/o is the problem, but more often than not women support each other irl. the reality is it's often male writers/directors who push the trope that women are catty and threatened by each other and always in competition. i know of multiple women who ended up good friends with the girl their boyfriends cheated on them with (obviously the other girl hadn't known he was already with someone in those cases).
but yes, it's definitely refreshing to see movies showing women supporting women and whose writers/directors did not give in to sexist, misogynistic, or otherwise distasteful tropes.
I love how in this movie Elle was always smart and its shown throughout the beginning in the way she talks and such, She wasn't 'dumb' then started to study and suddenly 'smartened' up, she just never considered that she might actually really enjoy a 'serious' job like a lawyer because no body ever presented her that she COULD do that
I like that one of her friends who didn’t get everything was shown, also against stereotype, to speak two very different languages. It wasn’t something she bragged about or anything. Like Elle.
I love Elle Woods for her optimism. She's a go-getter, a motivator, and so sweet. plus, she's not wrong about blonde discrimination. I have had a lifetime of experience of being treated differently because I am blonde. The dumb blonde jokes, perceived naiveté, calling you fake or even frigid, but Elle shows you are more than your first impression. You can also lean into the positive perceptions of blondes: kindness, optimism, fun, confidence, and shining like your golden hair.
What I always love about this movie, now that I've seen it 3billion times is that Elle retorts, "What, like it's hard?", when we learn that Warner got waitlisted and she evidently did not.
Justice.
"SOMEONE HOLD MY EARRINGS"
"SOMEONE HOLD ME BACK"
*snaps fingers*
PLS I LOVE THIS MAN
I would trust this man to hold my drink at a party any time
“You…got into Harvard Law?” “What, like it’s hard?” One of the greatest lines EVER in cinema, but yes, the one-liners are unstoppable! 😍 Also, shame on your wife for never insisting on watching this with you, it’s seriously one of the greatest comedies ever!
I really disliked Vivienne at first too... but the more I've thought about her... I can't blame her at all. Warner SAYS that they 'broke up but got back together over the summer" ... but what if they DIDN'T break up at all and Elle was the side piece while he was in California? It explains why she was so quick to believe Elle was sleeping with Callahan to get ahead. Also her attitude earlier with tricking her at the Halloween party, saying that Elle was "awful" because... of course you're going to think that the girl that your boyfriend cheated on you with (even if she didn't know and he is totally to blame) is a terrible person! I am glad they became friends in the end.
Also, Luke Wilson is Owen Wilsons brother silly.
You saying you had a wife is the biggest plot twist ever! 😂😂🤷🏾♂️
I've always loved the pro-feminine message with this movie. Especially because it subverts your expectations. It starts with you thinking that Elle is going to be the stereotypical ditzy blonde, but then she winds up being just as good, if not better, than most of the other characters, but she never has to sacrifice who she really is to do that. I love the fact that this girl can be absolutely gorgeous, dress fabulously, and enjoy things like fashion and make-up, while also graduating at the top of Harvard Law.
The musical is so good!! I would even say it's better than the movie, since the story its so over the top it works great as a musical and they gave some characters and relationships (like Elle and Emmet) much more depth. Plus the whole proshot is on RUclips
I want to see him react to the muscial on RUclips!!!!
Emmett was just an okay character in the movie. like he and Elle had chemistry but he wasn't really there much, but in the musical he and Elle are like the best characters. I love it so much.
The musical is such a blast! Anyone who has only seen the movie is doing themselves a disservice. The movie is very good, but the musical is great! And on youtube!
1:15 fun fact: those are real frat boys. They happened to wander by the set, and got put in.
As someone who is more than sick of the “dumb blonde” stereotype (even tho I’m a guy), I am glad this movie exists
*Elle's boyfriend (Warner) shows with with shades at night*
Me: Okay.. don't recognise this guy but he's already giving off a skeevy vibe
*Warner appears in the next scene without his shades*
Me: OMG Alaric Saltzman what are you doing here O_O?!
I just realized that thanks to this reaction and was tripping, also the fact that the pool boy's name is Salvatore makes it even better!
@@cdgornallA OMG I was thinking the same thing hahaha
I love all the subtle ways they show how intelligent Elle and her sorority sisters are, just in the beginning alone. Elle's fantastic memory when that woman tries to rip her off, her friend speaking fluent Chinese like it ain't no thang... amazing.
I can provide expert testimony that law students and lawyers all love this movie. 👍👍
And happily, it's really not that unrealistic by movie standards!* Just pretend Elle is in her second year by the end of the movie rather than her first -- in the US, second-year law school students can get a "baby bar card" and then they're allowed to do everything a real lawyer does, as long as a real lawyer supervises them and signs all the documents, like that guy who sounds weirdly like Owen Wilson does here.
The most unrealistic thing is how no one on either side noticed during the months leading up to trial that the prosecution's main witness had a shitty, ahem, I mean an internally inconsistent alibi. Also, Callaghan should have hired a PI to find out where Brooke actually was, regardless of whether or not Brooke felt like sharing it.
* In real life, everything takes longer and requires a lot more paperwork, and anything interesting happens through emails going back and forth between ordinary offices well before any actual court dates. If you're surprised during a trial, you really screwed up somewhere.
And this movie is the reason I've had a 20+ year crush on Reese Witherspoon. Also, I can't think of a movie that is more about accepting others for who they are and not what you see than this one is. From start to finish that's the whole damn message. Be who you are and don't let anyone tell you you're not good enough. The whole Chuck scene is god damn perfection. Luke Wilson played that whole questioning bit spot on. We all wish we had an Elle Woods in our lives. The world would be a much better, if pinker, place.
I would *love* if you reacted to the musical on here! It was filmed for MTV and the proshot is on RUclips.
I second this
YES
YES
My mom is a lawyer, and she introduced me to this movie, and we both love this movie so much!
💕💟💗💓💖💝💘
One of the rare cases when the movie came before the musical, and I love the musical more. I saw the preview when it opened in San Francisco and… Omigod! 💖🇮🇪🐶
The musical is really good. If you do check it out, make sure to watch the version with Laura Bell Bundy.
"That was the 7% we weren't looking for!" OMG You crack me up! 😂😂
♥️♥️
Emmet=Luke Wilson brother of Owen
You are going to love Legally Blonde: The Musical. Since there is a filmed version of the play, I am hoping you will do a reaction video for that as well.
Yes, there absolutely is a Bend and Snap musical number, which was my part when I was in a production of it 😆
15:23
OMG because he is Owen Wilson’s brother Luke Wilson!!
Mind 🤯
That fact that he said, he sounds like Owen Wilson. 😂 that’s Luke Wilson. His brother.
Seeing this and remembering how my mom let me do the bend and snap when I was a 7 year old little girl.... I was so innocent back the
4:22 She's watching an episode of general hospital. And here's the real irony: he WAS lying!
the entire musical is on youtube! you should definitely react to it, it's one of my favorite musicals and it really does the movie justice
If I ever meet MoviesInDepth.
I will definitely greet him with The Bend And Snap maneuver. 😉😂
😂😂😂
I was just binge watching your videos and then you upload THIS?!?
You've made my day :D
I think one of my favorite, albeit very subtle or just unknowable to many, moments in this is when Elle pulls up to campus. She’s getting cat-called and someone says, “this ain’t LA!” I love the irony of that, since a good portion of this movie (and Van Wilder and others) was filmed at UCLA. I used to sit with my coffee before class in the area where she asks for the social events calendar 😄.
I kinda would like to see your dad's reaction to that movie too XD
Haha me too!
_Legally Blonde_ is getting so much love lately and I am here for it.
omg yes, watch the musical!!
the guy who plays Warner is Alaric in The Vampire Diaries! the switch up tho lmao
Great reaction, I'm totally subscribed now! I'd love to see your reaction to the musical, which, like the movie, is much better than it has any right to be. And you even predicted another number when you said the professor reminded you of a shark -- the professor has a song at that point called "Blood in the Water"😂
okay bestie we need a reaction to the musical, it's on youtube in full
"Was it historically accurate?" Lol, does he think he's watching a biopic?
See I never watch Legally Blonde but it gives me major John Tucker Must Die Vives which now I feel like I missed out not watching Legally Blonde for myself but I'm glad you did a commentary on it
The love interest sounds like owen Wilson because he's literally his brother, Luke wilson. LOL
If you love the movie… the musical is even better!
I love how Warner only says “hi” and you still immediately know he’s a douche 😂
If you recognize Paulette from Friends, then you should also recognize that Elle was also on Friends.
As a film typically reserved for the girls and the gays I gotta say I love that straight people are appreciating and open to watching this classic! It's about not judging a book by its cover and enjoying things for what they are. Aside from the painful gay stereotype in this film which is a product of its time. It stands up even now with a strong message that many people can learn from.
the legend himself, keep up the great work brotha!
I love how guys mainly react to this and is always giving gay bestie always thats why I'm so into these reaction vids, your personality and commentary is so so lovely 💅🏾
Who else is getting serious Dylan is in Trouble vibes from him?😂
If you want to laugh a LOT seek out drop dead gorgeous, so many big names, the funniest mockumentary I've ever seen in my life, completely under rated. If nothing else check out the cast list and decide from there lol
I enjoy your reactions.. you are hysterical for being straight, LOL LOL LOL and he sounds like owen cuz they are brothers. LOL LOL LOL the bend and snap, works every time !!!!
the LSAT test for admissions is scored out of 180. She was off by ONE POINT.
Something in my soul says she got the point off cos some grader didn't like her writing it in pink pen or for dotting one of her i's with a heart
But otherwise was like "SHIT she's fucking *good*"
Vivian being constantly asked for a coffee by the professor made her realize this is how women are treated and that she has the best ally in Elle. but
seeing Elle being groped pushed her back into her internalized misogyny and blaming the pretty girl instead of the powerful man
Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy. Happy people don't just kill. They just don't.
This reaction was just GREAT!
after watching this reaction i wish I could see your reaction to the musical! It's so fun lol
i switch from this and the musical being my favorite every week
I’ve actually never seen the movie, but the musical is one of my favourites, just as over the top as you’d think lol, hope you enjoy!
i really hope you record your reaction to the musical! it is seriously amazing, the character development is just *muah*
I love how you're having the time of your life while watching this 🤣👌🏼💜
I love your reviews so much! I can never stop laughing!
This is one of the funniest reactions you've done 😅
You *HAVE* to watch CLUELESS. It's a classic.
I always forget how much I love this movie until I see it again.
i love this movie so much! and i loved your reaction too!!
Yessss this is such a fun reaction video
I love the movie AND the musical sooo much I can't even put it in words
“Alright someone hold my earrings”
Why was that me when I first watched this movie I love him 😂😂
Lol, not him asking why Owen Wilson's brother sounds like Owen Wilson!
Love his energy!! 😂
I just love those type of movies, "chick lit". It's just art! Another great react. Love from Brasil.
This movie is so hilarious I hope you do the second one as well!
Luke Wilson and Owen Wilson are brothers. That's probably why they sound alike. ;)
YES YES !!! i highly recommend watching the musical too !!
personally, i think it's better than the movie with incredible performances and more fleshed out characters
7:22-7:23 i love that line, it's so iconic 😂😂👏🏾👏🏾
I watched this at least three times, back-to-back. 😁
I heard that the group of boys on the lawn in the opening credits was an actual college fraternity hazing and a mother recognized her son from it. Now is that true? Eh, its a funny story so who cares lol
I loved this!!! Now, I would love nothing (NOTHING) more for you to someday react to Grease 2. It's so, so bad but by god I love that stupid movie and I have since I was 7 and since it's also a musical it would be right up your alley
I’m glad you actually enjoyed that. If that’s the case, I highly suggest watching the sequel and Legally Blondes. I suppose that one would be a spin off.
I would love to see you react to the musical if you can because I like it even more than the movie.
love it! totally need a reaction to the musical!!
The Musical is my favourite musical the songs are a bop!
Would love to see your reaction to the musical -it’s sooo good!!! ❤️❤️
YASSSSSS !!! Finally!!! Elle Woods is one the icons responsible for my savage upbringing
💖💖💖
Was this the moment you realized this is Luke WILSON? That is amazing!
Please please please react to the musical. It is on youtube and in my opinion even better than the movie. And I would love to see you react to it as a theatre artist yourself
OH MY GOD OHMYGOD YOU GUYSSSSS
I love this movie and I have seen every movie reaction on RUclips. You had my favorite reaction, most guys I have seen react to this movie are very judgment of Elle.
One of my favorite feel good movies!
14:16 THATS LITERALLY ONE THE SONGS IM CRYING
I love the musical version!
Introducing Luke Wilson as the upcoming love interest, the older brother of Owen Wilson
I know she's in friends and a lot of other movies. But I do like her in Amercian Pie as Stiflers mom.
I love that there isn’t really a love interest in this movie. Like there’s vibes with Luke Wilson and it’s confirmed in the end, but they don’t immediately get to together. It takes years. There’s no kiss, no flirtation, just support and friendship with the suggestion of more 💕
