I like that this isn't 100% nit-picking every inaccuracy. Its the perfect balance of "this is inaccurate but I still like it." Can't wait for more.

I’m loving this series so far, and I’m glad that you guys aren’t digging into every minute detail that annoys you in these dinosaurs and can just have fun watching them, other paleo channels would put some dinosaurs like Velociraptor in f tier because they don’t look like velociraptor, but you actually are ranking the overall design of the dinosaurs based on how much you like them, and that’s great
Also please do a prehistoric kingdom ranking too, that’d be great

One of the sad parts of JWE2, herbivores are so weak in the game

I definitely like both Euoplocephalus and Minmi the most out of the other ankylosaurians in the game since they have the correct armor placement with it being actually part of the skin instead of separate armor plates.

I get insane that Sauropods in this game are just huge punching bags, they do nothing to protect themselves, they don't use their tail or they don't kick predators.
It is even more sad to see that small carnivores that can pack hunt (Velociraptor, Deinonychus, Herrerasaurus, Proceratosaurus, Troodon, Pyroraptor, Dilophosaurus and Atrociraptor) can annihilate Sauropods in seconds.
I think Sauropods should be like physical gods, and the only thing that would dare to attack them would be the Indominus. And I really dout that Frontier will in the furute make Sauropods able to defend themselves.
But leaving that aside, I'm liking this series, can't wait to hear what you guys have to say about my favorites: Carcharodontosaurus, Iguanodon and Dreadnoughtus (both the Fronteir version and the Domion version. Same for Iguanodon).

    I KNOW THAT STORY!
    DINOVERSE BY SCOTT CIENCIN!!!
    Bertram philips was an ankylosaurus
Mike peterfsky was an adolescent t. rex
    Janine farehouse was a quetzalcoatlus.
    Candayce Chambers was the leptoceratops.

  • @Churi_Venatriss
    @Churi_Venatriss Год назад +3

When you mentioned the story about it just plopping down and waiting out predators, it reminded me of something. I don’t know if you guys are familiar with Path if Titans, but you play as the dinosaurs. There’s an Anodontosaurus in it, and one of the skills/abilities is “Hunker Down” so when you crouch for more than five seconds it grants greatly increased defense. It (obviously) also deals high bone break. I can’t really say anymore on it as I’ve never played it. And if you liked the JWE2’s gait, you’d probably love the shuffle the Ano has in Path of Titans.
I love when you were purposely mispronouncing the name. “European Sisyphus” killed me. XD

Oh my god, I remember that book with the high schoolers getting their minds sent back in time! I think there was actually a series, but I only ever read the first one. It’s been years since I last read it, and the kindle it was on has disappeared somewhere. Need to see if I can dig it up somewhere else and re-read it for old times’ sake, if nothing else..
Edit: Two things - 1.) Did some digging (HA!) and found the name of this series. It’s called “Dinoverse,” which is a tad uncreative in my eyes, but that’s neither here nor there. Anyways, 2.) “an animal the size of an elephant with spears for a face” is quite possibly the best way I’ve heard someone describe a Trike, and I will use that as often as possible from now on when referring to them. Thank you.

You still have a lot of species left to make content on in this game but if you’d like suggestions for other video games with fossils to examine RDR2 has 30 separate fossils that go on to be miss matched in a giant amalgamation by the paleontologist you send them to in a lampoon of the bone wars but individually they might be interesting to look into. They seem to include species ranging from actual dinosaurs to Pleistocene mammal and even some aquatic specimens all with a relatively small amounts of skeletal data. I’ve just thought it could be a fun thought experiment to try and break down which 30 North American fauna make up the whole scavenger hunt.
There’s even a few other fossil/skeletal examples in that game including a mammoth, some cetaceans, and an early Native American person who seems fossilized in a cliff face

Euoplocephaus having the locomotion of a Rhino or Hippo... that's a raally interesting conclusion to be made.. I mean, I don't expect a dinosaur like Euoplochephaus to be running at 40 or even 20 mph over short distances, but I can believe it could crank up it's speed if in needed to.

18:11 I’m sure they’re joking but I still wanted to comment because many scientists (not just paleontologists) are wanting to be as accurate and perfect as possible. Things like Combat don’t always go smoothly so small variables like the euplo getting hit in the face are likely to be present. It’s honestly more accurate if an accident like that occurred.
