This song was about a public suicide by R. Bud Dwyer who saved his entire staff by taking all blame for anything illegal they did in a good cause and blew his own brains out on live TV at a press conference that I saw live as a kid. That's why I say hey man nice shot. Good shot man.
Bud Dwyer so so sad.He insisted he was innocent (he was in fact) of the claims against him.Feared his career was finished and his ability to support his family. Not to mention his reputation. He wanted accusers to see the devastation they caused for him.
When this song came out, a lot of people thought it was about Kurt Cobain of Nirvana. The song came OUT after Cobain committed suicide, but was written before that, and as others have previously pointed out, is about R Bud Dwyer. I first heard this tune on a sampler CD I got from some record company. Very powerful, always dug it.
Also, the lead singer is the brother to the guy who plays the fluid metal cop that is after the kid in the Terminator movie. Robert Patrick - Cop / Richard Patrick - singer in the band Filter.
The irony is that he was innocent, which was proven after the suicide. There was a documentary done called "Honest Man: The Life of R. Budd Dwyer". Key witnesses at his trial later confessed to lying under oath in order to secure a better deal for themselves.
Do some better research man, he was innocent! He killed himself for his life insurance so his family would be taken care of. If he would’ve went to prison which was supposed to be the next day, his insurance would’ve lapsed.
It's been a long time since I've seen your videos. Don't know why, but still as entertaining as the first! Stay cool! Be safe and see ya down the road!!
Thanks for choosing my suggestion! I figured you probably wouldn’t be completely blown away by the song but I wanted to choose something different than the typical metal songs everyone reacts to. Broaden horizons and shit. 😄😄 These guys had a pretty cool sound back in the day and I really enjoyed their first album. Love the basketball theory. Lol Peace!!
Oh shit. .. found my way back to the trap.. Love n respect shout out from Toledo Ohio .. stay up and stay you always .. good song choice.. there’s history behind this song.. look it up my guy 💯🤘.. it’s about a senator that committed sucicide becacuse he got caught on live t.v. In the early 1980’s
You said I feel like vampires are coming out which is funny because this song is on Demon Night which isn't about vampires but it does work in that same area.
Always liked this quite a lot... and they went completely out of character with Take a Picture, which I love.... Filter is a solid band man.. and yes, it’s a specific era sound.. which is my fave :-)
I think they sound a bit like Nine Inch Nails. And since Richard Patrick (the singer) was in NIN for a few years, I'm sure he took some of that sound with him to Filter. I suggest "Where Do We Go From Here" or "It's Just You" for something more recent.
Once you learn the inspiration for this song the lyric's really resonate. I remember the song played during the basketball scene in Cable Guy, which is hilarious...even though the story behind the lyrics is about suicide.
There was a lot of industrial metal and 'nu-metal' in movies in the 90s that's probably why the style sounds familiar, the song's not about b-ball it's about R. Bud Dwyer who blew his brains out on live tv.
They alright. Pantera regular people isn't that fast has a killer Groove and a killer guitar solo. Come on let me make it up to you for the biohazard request that you hated LOL
0:000000 one mutha phukin fiddy tree!!!! you tied ov watchin mutha phukin 🐎💩...then watch "Immortal Corruptor " official video.... It's a song by by a band lead by a man from a strand in the 👋...... it ain't that phukin cold btw ...... blauugh!!!!!!🔫
Stuck In A Loop 😮 I’m gone now? Yet we’re here 🤔 curious conundrum we’ve found our selves in... but your right my channel fell off bad 😞 oh well 👋 😀 you have any request? Be well ✌️
RRT Basketball...lol , You be Trippin... This Filter song is covered by some of the biggest bands in the world afterwards including Korn , it's not even Filter best material , better than a lot of todays mumble bodged no meaning music... ,Never judge book by it's cover brother..., .but no subscription today , constructive critisim , your reaction was shallow...peace

That's why I say hey man nice shot. Good shot man.
Also recall seeing reports of it on the news while watching NBR with my grandfather.
"I wish I would've met you, now it's a little late." Kind of says it all. Nice shot man.
Bud Dwyer so so sad.He insisted he was innocent (he was in fact) of the claims against him.Feared his career was finished and his ability to support his family. Not to mention his reputation. He wanted accusers to see the devastation they caused for him.
While it’s very simplistic bass line, I enjoy the hell out it. My favorite riff to play while adjusting the PA.
The singer is the brother of the terminator killer in the movie, Terminator 2!!! Who knew that?!
Take a picture.
Actor Robert Patrick, the T1000 liquid metal terminator. Thanks. You beat me to it.
This was also in the tsles from the crypt movie in the 90s Demon Knight, might be why it reminds you of vampires or demons

Dude. That opening...

The song is about R. Budd Dwyer a politician who was corrupt and went on live broadcast to address the scandal then shot himself
RichYonkers Thanks, You said it for me. The explanation he read sounds like something made up by a record executive.
I remember seeing it live like it was last week.
embersoftheabyss guess we should ask him

They fucked that man over but for what it's worth it was a hell of a shot and he definitely got his point across poor guy
Nice to see you again good song, Triump/ Lay it on the line Live, won't disappoint . Thanks DoubleRT.Still with ya
The reason he shot himself was so they couldnt take away his family's benefits on top of everything else they destroyed. Noble guy. Hey man, nice shot

philiposm ✌️ as always thanks for the help and for not being a dickhead 😃 like a few comments I’ve been seeing lately.
RRT I hear ya man, some people just need to chill. I appreciate your honesty unlike most people who “love” everything on here. ✌️✌️
With all due respect, even though this has heavier elements, this song is not metal. This is post Grunge.
Good song though.

the R. Bud Dwyer suicide is still on youtube, unbelievable
Why and how?
Chad Kowa Jr it’s historically significant like an assassination would be

Thier cover of TDN, One (is the loneliest number) is so freaking good too.
don lemmon of cnn needs to do a Bud Dwyer...

This is an awesome song I remember exactly when I heard it it rocks hey man nice shot
This song is about a politician who offed himself in front of people at press meeting... “those who were right there, had a new kind of fear”
Once you learn the inspiration for this song the lyric's really resonate. I remember the song played during the basketball scene in Cable Guy, which is hilarious...even though the story behind the lyrics is about suicide.
One of the top songs from the '90s this band never got the credit it deserved
There was a lot of industrial metal and 'nu-metal' in movies in the 90s that's probably why the style sounds familiar, the song's not about b-ball it's about R. Bud Dwyer who blew his brains out on live tv.
And I love Filter for making this song for Kurt Cobain
😂 if only that's really what the song is about. Its a sad song. New sub!
R.i.p. Budd Dwyer........
This song’s about basketball your kidding me right
A. Man has gun (shoot’s himself)

Mark Phipps yeah, if you're Helen Keller... sure, they sound "similar" to Tool.
Al Stewart 🥀🥀 Year of the Cat.....

So sad were not talking about his reaction
🤷♂️ ✌️
Still hoping for Laurie Anderson's "O Superman" for WTF Wednesday. Official video. Strange, minimalist, beautiful, disturbing.
Seriously good song and unique. Kudos for being the only person I've ever seen on any Reactor Comments to request it
Listen to War Pigs by Black Sabbath
Joe Jackson- " steppin out"
Would love to see you check out "where I stay" by powerflo. Its sen dog from cypress hill with a metal band behind him.
SORRY HOLMES THE SONG WASNT ABOUT HOOPS. IT WAS SUICIDE.
