When I was in Europe, I usually went to a bakery, got a small loaf of bread, went to the butcher and got some hard salami that doesn’t need refrigeration, and got some cheese. Snack or lunch, it was good. Saved a lot of money, and it worked wherever I was - France, Belgium, or Germany.
My wife and I lived on that in Paris. We also carried a couple of those little airline sized wine bottles which we would fill up before we left our BnB. Their whole grain bread was fabulous and cheese and ham was quite affordable. Only problem was I had to carry a knife of some sort to cut the bread and I kept getting it confiscated when I went in a museum or gallery. But I eventually got smart and began hiding it in a nearby garden.
@@JimmyandNatalie I hope you can find some small shops for your supplies. Meeting people in a small shop is a great experience. You would be surprised how far pointing at something and asking “wie viel kostet es” can go.
While in the USAF we spent 3 years in Germany. By far our best assignment. You need to treat yourself to a Jaegerschnitzel dinner. The bakeries in Germany are outstanding as well as in Innsbruck if you go to Austria. Do forget to visit some of the old castles throughout Germany. If you have tome go to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. Enjoy .
I have never related to Natalie as much as when she was holding her giant pretzel and giant beer and said "I've never been so happy" followed by "this is my favorite day". What a fun video with a perfect ending.
I was born in Munich Germany and watching you showing how it looks now was very emotional, I was born there in 1957. Thanks for filming all you did in Munich ❤
In 1966 my father was stationed in Munich and my mother was pregnant and gave birth to me. I haven't been back since i was a child, so i thank yu with all my heart for showing me a piece of my birth place. ❤
Be sure to go that “mechanical” museum. There are great museums not to miss. And don’t forget the Glockenspiel. Take the train , from Munich, to Dauchau Concentration Camp. It is an emotional experience.
I was in Europe with my wife at the beginning of this year , and was amazing trip, we enjoyed it so much, and we travel by bus a lot, from contry to another, and for I tell you the truth we want to go back again , especially to Germany.
That was a great shot of Natalie with the pretzel and dunkel bier. Natalie didn't have to say she was happy; I could see it in her smile. Dunkel is my favorite, too; and Hofbräuhaus is my favorite brew house in Munich. Pro-tip: you can only order the liter mugs after 6 PM, no half-liters. Check out some of the other Oktoberfest Breweries in Munich. I think there are six.
Thanks! Really enjoying the street views of places I have never seen, tower was awesome. Here's to giant pretzels and beers. Next ones are on me. Călătorește cu rucsaci fericiți. 😊👍
This is the first video of yours I have watched and it won't be the last! You guys are adorable. I love your pace and enthusiasm and the mix of food, strolling, sightseeing, and history.
Travel tip: avoid those ATMs that say CASH or Eurostar, Volksbank Reifeisenbank, or have something in English. they usually take high fees. Use ATMs from Sparkasse, Commerce Bank, Deutsche Bank, Postbank or ING. Most ATMs have a little sticker that tells you what card comes with what fees. For example, the Hamburger Sparkasse takes 5 Euros for non-member master cards but no fees for Visa and Maestro/EC so you only end up paying your own bank's conversion rate.
When I saw y’all had posted I thought no way! But yes way!! And it was a really good video! I love to see Natalie that happy even if it’s a HUGE beer and a HUGE pretzel lol❤️❤️
Lovely video. My wife and I returned to India a couple of months ago after spending 3 months with our son in Munich. It is a lovely place, and we've visited all those places quite a few times. I wish you had walked down to Karlzplatz---it is less than a mile from Marienplatz.
OMG. Look at that town hall building wow. The churches in Europe are so big and beautiful. Ceilings....very nice. Those HUGE beers and pretzels . I don't think I could finish either one of them. Thanks for sharing.
We couldn't agree more! The buildings and churches here look so incredible! 😄 And you're right about the pretzels! We could barely finish them and they even ended up being our dinner! 😅
So nice to see you in Europe! I hope Austria is on your GoTo List! 🙂 Innsbruck, Salzburg and Vienna are very nice cities to visit! Greetings from Austria! 👋😁
Very interesting and not only are you sharing all this information with us but you will have a verbal diary of the places you visited and you will not forget those facts that you would forget later. I’m having fun even though, at my age I would not want to go. I get to go along with you!😀🥰
Our trip to Europe was great, we spent a month there, we stayed at military bases , Try to see the Neuschwanstein Castel ,, we took the Tran to the top of a beautiful mountain Pilatus in Switzerland , went to the top and had lunch, the ride up the mountain was just wonderful , The Eagles Nest is so much worth seeing, we took a crunch down the beautiful Rhine River, ,Berchtesgaden, it’s all so much fun and like I said before , the Beer and food is great, I just thought I would throw in a few places we enjoyed so much there, 🤗👍
Oh wow that sounds like an amazing trip! 😄 We’ve seen the Neuschwanstein Castle once on a previous trip but haven’t done any of the others you mentioned! We’ll have to try those next time! 💚
My wife was stationed at Hanau for the Army, and she went to visit Munich during the Oktoberfest. And she loved it. Your video brought back a lot of memories for her. Have fun you two and enjoy Munich.
It must be amazing to see all that artwork in person! Especially knowing it's older than the USA. Thanks for the extra video. You got some amazing shots! It's fun to watch the puzzled look on people's faces when they pass behind Natalie wondering what y'all are doing😂🤣 We can't believe you compared Natalie to the Devil, even if it was just a shoe size😈👟😍🐢
We just moved to Germany from the US. Once we get a house we will start exploring. I can't wait! I am wondering if you guys live here or if you are visiting.
Hoping you got to enjoy Volksmarches in Germany. Great hikes/easy walks through small villages/towns and their countrysides. Super cheap and happen every weekend all over. Usually end at a town hall with refreshments. Such a great way to see the country and its communities.
Apfelschnecken literally translates to apple snails, probably because it’s rolled up like that. I’ve been a few times in Bavaria, but never to Munich. Whenever I’m in a public building like that, I live by the rule that as long as there isn’t a locked door, I’m probably allowed to be there. 😅 You’re probably no longer in that area/have already made your itinerary, but 129 km north of Munich is Nuremberg, also a very interesting city. I live 5 minutes from the German border, so I regularly get my groceries there, and whenever I do, I buy a pretzel to snack on, on my way back home.
THANK YOU for your loving report about Munich/Bavaria ❤❤ It's really nice to see that you enjoyed your stay with us so much. 👍👍 your German is fabulous *Apfelschnecke* *danke* *Rathaus* *lecker* *Eisbachwelle* 😀😅 I watch YT videos from the USA to improve my understanding of English. First thing I learned, how friendly and personable Americans can be 😊🤩 You made me very happy with your video. Kind regards from Nuremberg/Germany 🍺🍺
Just a little clarification. the Eisbachwelle definitely isn't put there for the surfers on purpose. Its just the spot where the underground spot reaches the surface again and to prevent it from eroding the canal floor, they put a ledge there that creates this continuous standing wave.
Just a girl on a mission to get beer! 😂 I've been binge watching the last ten videos or so. Had some catching up to do. I'm loving the Europe series already. It looks like you guys are having a blast. Looking forward to seeing what you get up to in the Netherlands. That's were I'm from 😊
Thanks for the tour, one of the best one's I've seen. You two look as if you are having a most excellent time! Only one litre of dark brew for me...........
Glad to hear you're enjoying your travels through Germany. Have you seen any videos or photos of the thunder storms and severe flooding that hit Frankfurt on Aug 16th? Passengers were stranded at the airport which was shut down. Some 90 flights were cancelled. Looks like you just missed it.
I am happy that you guys enjoyed your visit to my hometown. But for breakfast you should have tried Weißwürste. Which is a typical bavarian breakfast. And yes, we do drink beer (especially Weißbier) with it. And for Lunch I would have recommended a Leberkässemmel. You can get them in every butchery and the normally cost between 2-3 Euros
Hi Jimmie & Natalie I've been in Germany during my Navy days and loved it. Make sure you sample the ice cream, it's so tasty and very different.. Just curious on overseas adventurers. Love your travels, keep the coming. Take care of each other, you guys are super.😊😊
Love watching you two. I am sure your planning on it but you have to go to Neuschwanstein castle. I got to visit it on one of my trips to Europe. The castle that inspired Disney.

If you are still in Munich, Dachau (concentration camp) is about 19 miles north, and it was a very humbling thing to experience.
You missed a lot of good food. When I travel, I am never cheap as it is a once in a lifetime experience.

Sure thing! I believe it was called Ali’s Superfood!
Thank you!!
As someone who was born in munich and living there ever since i am always so curious what tourists think of my city when they are visiting.
Heh, Sweet Spot is absolutely one of the best spots to go to for great coffee :)
I went on vacation to Bavaria a few months back but was very unlucky, because Munich was closed for repairs.
I was born and raised in munich and i think its funny to watch
I don't know why but I'm happy for you both that you had so much fun in my hometown. You have visited some of the most important places, including the Eisbach. You even mastered the toast with the huge beer perfectly the German way
You are very welcome to come back :)
I love your videos, this one is not lone enough. Just keep them coming.
