i play football in the Netherlands as a wide receiver, I'm looking for new shoulder pads. Wich one do you recommend? my budget is around 200.

I like the way the Xenith shoulder pads look but how good are they on protecting.

Thanks for that last reply on your other vid. I have a request for you going forward. Being that its just about impposible for most people to find a store near them where they can actually try on shoulder pads, making an online purchase inevitable for most people... Can you begin to include more about fit and sizing characteristics of the different shoulder pads. I've already experienced returning a pair of Riddell SPX shoulder pads that weren't a good fit at all even tho my son measured out perfectly for them. The Xenith shoulder pad was said to run a little bigger, no? How do they compare, in your opinion? I'm thinking of giving the Xenith Velocity a try, but the shipping and waiting and possibly having to return them just to wait again is pretty annoying.
Will you review the xtech shoulder pads?

Hey IKF... comin' at ya in 2018. This review is a few years old, but I still appreciate it. Seems Xenith ONLY offers the Velocity pads for sale these days for varsity. I went ahead and ordered a set for my son (LB/RB, 5'8-5'9, 135lbs, 18" shoulders, 35" chest). Wasn't sure what size, so got the medium and large and will see which work best. It's hard to find JV/Varsity pads in stores!! As always, appreciate your reviews.

Can you put these pads on with a helmet being a edge guy the biggest problem I run in to is not being able to turn my head down to the ball being in a three point cause of the shoulder bulk of the pad and if there is a pad that some one found that have a low shoulder surface let me know
I play DE/DT for my schools football team. We still have the same old schutt youth football pads, they suck. We also have a “sponsorship” from adidas that gives us some really nice football jerseys. But I can’t seem to find a pair of pads that I can buy personally to make my jersey/pad combo, to look like that of Cameron Wake or Terrell Suggs. Any help?

I think you can find some lower profile pads for QB. These are more for skill positions but not QBs

Question! I'm about 6'2" and play WR. I have a long upper body and always have a hard time finding shoulder pads that are comfortable. They always seem to ride up in to my neck from time to time.. Any specific shoulder pad that would maybe go a little lower near your abdomen area ? Thanks
+Liam Barclay No, WR pads are very short on purpose. If they ride up you need a better fitting pad that is your size. Check out my pad reviews and also read my shoulder pad article on my blog.

I would go with the smaller size if you are in between sizes. That’s what I did and my size is a medium
Hey, i was just wanted your guys options. I am 5,9 weigh 160 and lift weights 6 days a week i have played soccer and have good endurance and am pretty fast for a guy like me. I can run a 50 yd dash in about 6.2 seconds. I am wanting to play football my sophemore year any positions i should try thanks in advance.

What do you think of the following setup for a WR:
1. Riddell Vengeance DCT with EPOG titanium
2. Riddell Custom Pro Lightspeed (with a standalone CarbonTeK extended vest, which is sold separately and covers stomach and lower back).

However, off-the-record: Do I choose the Custom Pro, CarbonTek (full unit), or the Xenith pads? Can't decide, I am leaning toward the Riddell pads only because you can integrate the Kerr Collar with them.
NOTE: for a 15-year old rising sophomore (in the fall), DeMatha Catholic School (Maryland). He is real tall and skinny but fast (thus he needs protection without limiting speed -- his main feature). His weight is working against him due to stereotypes.
Again it is extremely difficult since none of the pads are available to try on before buying.
