    Hi guys! I hope you are enjoying the video! I do apologize for the low audio volume. I tried out using an external microphone for the first time, as well as pairing it with a new video editing program. I will make sure the situation is fixed for future videos. In the meantime, using headphones while watching does help a lot (at least here on my end). Thanks!

    "cheapest deal is to not buy anything" yes!! I've saved so much money unsubscribing from emails and not knowing about deals.

    • @AbundantlyMinimal
      @AbundantlyMinimal  6 лет назад +1

      Agreed! If I don't know what deals are happening then I have no interest in purchasing anything!

    I'm going to label five clothes hangers Monday-Friday and prep my outfits this way. I also prep my lunches on Sunday and pack them up the evening before, ready to take to work. I definitely appreciate how minimalism reduced the number of decisions I need to make on a daily basis.

    • @AbundantlyMinimal
      @AbundantlyMinimal  6 лет назад

      The hangers option would be great as well! Thanks Kat!

    I try to pair my outfits when I wash my clothes. I have enough clothes for around 2-3 weeks worth of shirts and around 2 weeks worth of pants/skirts. So I try to wash clothes every two weeks. I hang the majority of my clothes (except for pjs/workout/undies, etc.). When I was my clothes I match outfits and hang them that way. (This allows me to match things differently than I may have previously.). Then every day, I pick out my outfit for the next day, but it is a very easy process because the top and bottom are already matched.

    • @AbundantlyMinimal
      @AbundantlyMinimal  6 лет назад +1

      That is a great idea to have outfits already matched! Thanks Alexa!

    • @jmkgraceofgod
      @jmkgraceofgod 6 лет назад +2

      Matching outfits is super stressful for me. For one, I don't think most of my wardrobe actually has matching items. Secondly, I question every decision I make since I'm not confident in fashion. Doing this in advance would save me so many meltdowns.

    I do something very similar with clothes and food. I actually make up my breakfasts and lunches for the week on Sunday and take them in on Monday. Sometimes it's to heavy since I park far away and I take 2 days in and then 1 day every day after that. Then if I forget a day I still have a day's worth of meals waiting for me at work.
    I've also been using YNAB to budget and I feel like it's really working for me. I used it a long time ago, but I didn't allocate all my money out when I received it. Now I plan out my entire paycheck so that when I receive it every dollar is used, including savings, investments, and extra house payments. If I really want to overspend in one category I have to think about where I will pull that money from. Maybe we overspend on groceries one week. I either have to make sure we spend less the next week or pull the money from another category like books or clothing, which I allocate a small amount to every paycheck.

      That is wonderful that you are able to meal prep for work meals! I love that idea! I'm glad to hear the allocations in your budget have been helpful too!

    Hi Sarah. Interesting looking at minimalism from perspective of making decisions. Makes so much sense to me, thanks. I do a similar thing with my clothes by hanging an outfit together so it's in one place & I don't have to decide what to wear with what! Also I'm learning about block scheduling & I like the idea of setting a time then moving on to the next task, I saw someone suggest setting a bell like school, class done move onto the next class subject, then go back to it next class if you see what I mean?! I thought you might relate to that being a teacher 😁

    • @AbundantlyMinimal
      @AbundantlyMinimal  6 лет назад

      I definitely see what you mean, Sandra! The block scheduling method is pretty interesting and can be very helpful for many...thank you for sharing!

    Great tips! I LOVE that you merge minimalism and teaching! It’s not very common yet so beneficial for kiddos. Great job! 📚
    I would love to hear more about minimalism and finances. We’ve tried the Dave Ramsey system but feel overwhelmed with all the sinking funds/savings accounts. It’s too much mental clutter! I can’t seem to find a good expense/spending tracker system either. Help!

    automatic transfer is pretty much the standard in Germany, lol, whereas cheques are virtually unknown. your employer transfers your salary into your account and almost every regular bill you have to pay like rent or utilities will come out of your account as well

      Thank you for the feedback, Jennifer! This is the first video I made using an external microphone instead of the built-in audio from the camera, so it does reduce a lot of the background noise! I will be sure to make sure it is louder for the next video. Thanks!

    "Other things"... like what? There are decisions that have to be made, like it or not, an example would be paying taxes. The trick is not stressing over those decisions one has no choice but to make
    and then move on. I only have a 3 color, 3 neutrals, capsule wardrobe, of 50 pieces, so that's three choices top bottom jacket, done. Leftovers were already packaged the night before so lunch is also done. Mark whatever you don't want to read just mark it as spam and the machine erases it thereafter.
