    I'm from Australia and I love the Sega Saturn, I remember buying it with my Eid money when it came out.

    In 2013 Yu told Gameland magazine(russian magazine "Страна Игр") that Saturn was a test platform, but i don't believe it because we saw scenes from both Shenmue 1 and 2 on Saturn,so i guess they were close enough in development to release the first one maybe🤔
    sorry for my bad english

    The saturn version looked so awesome. The most impressive thing, besides how technically advanced it looked, is how many scenes from later on in the saga are in the trailer.

    IF the Shenmue Saturn beta ever gets out there, it would make for a hell of a video from Pandamonium 😊

    I could hear Nick talking for hours... and I usually do, in his videos! Really looking forward to the Sega Rally episode!
    As for Saturn Shenmue, has anyone asked Yu Suzuki about it?

    it would be unbelievable if the Saturn version leaked, along with a ROM rip for emulation. who knows what amount of cut content we would find, or scenes which Yu Suzuki decided to save for later entries. no doubt it would be very incomplete, though

      We'd still be all over it in an instant.

    Obviously we never saw the limits of the Saturn. I wish it got full support for just a couple more years to see what devs could bring to it

    cool interview! what was the "unreleased" saturn game that is referred to when he was talking about a japanese dev not leaking files but showing gameplay instead?

    Did they planned using the 4MB Memory Cartridge?
    Was the demo playable or just video?

    • @ShenmueDojoVOD
      @ShenmueDojoVOD  Месяц назад +1

      We're not sure as no one outside of SEGA had access to it. It looked playable

      The ram card doesn’t seem to have been utilized by many if any 3D games. I’ve always been curious as to why.

    I'm more concerned about memory rather than processing power, when it comes to probability of the demos running on real standard Saturns. Those pre-baked lighting interior textures take up a lot of space. A RAM extension cart would have probably been in order... as a handful of games did end up requiring one. Also, there is nothing inherently laughable about extension hardware. Your computers are extension galores themselves. It just must never ever be done so shoddily as the 32X was done.

    Such a shame Pandamonium's videos have slowed down to an absolute crawl... I really love his documentary style reviews. Nowadays there are just lets plays...

      I expect work/life balance comes into it. Plus he's editing the monster SEGA Rally episode and if it's as well researched as the Virtua Cop one (it will be) that could take months if not a year to get into a video.
