    Just came back from The Woodworking Show in Timonium, MD. The folks who make Drillnado were demonstrating and selling their new bandsaw dust collection system which is very similar to yours, except their dust collection cavity is less than half the size of yours which allows easier access to the lower guide and thrust bearings and they are using a 1-inch hose for maximum suction velocity. Charging $50 (show price was $40). You get 3 (6 if you buy at the show) magnetic templates which mount under the table, a plastic adapter which is the dust collection cavity and adheres to the table via two magnets and a length of one inch diameter hose.
    Since we have been wrestling with this problem for awhile, we bought the new system. Had I seen your video two days ago, we wouldn’t have.
    Nice elegant idea. Thanks.

    That would have to be the best bandsaw dust collection in existence.

    If you make a v2, you should put dowel holes under the magnets to line things up and make gluing easier.

    At first I thought you were going to put magnets in the holes and stick it to the table top. I was trying to figure out how that would work. Then you stuck it under the table and was like well that's just effing brilliant. And then I was like why didn't I think of that? Great idea!

    Is your dust port fitting purchased or leftover from another machine? Cannot find anyone that sells anything like the one you are using which is small and a perfect fit.

    You’ve obviously got a 3D printer, why didn’t you just print the laser cut wooden section?
    Also, what is the laser cutter you used?
    Someone asked in the comments below a few years back but you didn’t reply. 😊

      @mirockswoodshop  6 лет назад +1

      Oh Joe... it was one of my experiment from 3d printing. I was planned as hose for grinder but then I had changed model and this one remained for waste. I have took it but it can be hose from vac set. I have some useless nozzles from vac.
