I semi 'inherited' my daughter's DR-100 wr, its probably 7years old now, so that it could get broken in and some lovin', and I am amazed how nice it sounds. Build quality is very good for the price, sound is pretty amazing, I'm running medium bronzes on it. Stays in tune, is easy on the hands and eyes, built like a tank. Would I buy one for myself? In a heartbeat, but I may not have to since the kid is into uke now :P PS~ I am just a 'beginner' git player (began 3 some-odd years ago) for finger therapy, but have been playing music with my friends and bands since the 70's. I bought a cheap Yamaha a couple of years ago, I thought it sounded (and still sounds) quite nice, but I just love the playability and feel of this Epiphone model, and experienced buddies who do play guitar, are impressed by its over-all quality. Good strings are a must, I opted for medium bronze silicon type, they sing!
If you are looking for a warm tone, epiphone is the way to go. I have the epiphone dr 100 and it's warm and mellow. Also, epiphone has more experience than fender in acoustic guitars
This model does not need a pickup. When equipped with the right strings can easily keep up with amps and a drummer no problem. This guitar is loud. Hands down my favorite acoustic I have ever owned and I have played many I have also loved but this guitar has a solid standing on it's own. John Pearse Bluegrass strings and play away!
I’ve played around with super light strings (10’s) on my acoustics now and then . And yes they played like a dream , so much easier . But (there is always a but !is t there? lol) there’s no denying you lose a ton of tone and projection . Now I’m talking g about mid grade Taylor’s(314 ce , 414ce) and Martin’s (00015 m) with solid wood bodies . So I’m hesitant to try on a laminate ( this whole guitar is laminate including the top according to reviews I’ve watched) , which makes me nervous about using such super light strings . I’d lose about 1/4 to maybe 1/3 of my Taylor’s projection . Though the Martin 00015m seemed to like the super light 10’s... I think because the 00015 being a small guitar there’s only so much room filling sound you can get in the first place . With that small acoustic the only place I noticed a loss of overall projection, was when finger picking . And that loss was minimal ... at any rate if your not mic’ing or plugging into an amp I’d probably not go so light with the strings.... but .... then again tone and all that is somewhat subjective . What’s bad fir me may be great for you
@@Daniel-rd1sy Yes I can see now on the official page of epiphone but it seems weird. I have had lot's of these guitars in my hands, Most straight from the box as this one) I would never say any of these had 13s and unfortunaltey I can't say that I was fooled by a great stock setup. 13s in a beginner dedicated guitars seems risky step. @@toppoeldiospadrotedelunive7637 sorry for my misinformation. It turns out that this doesn't have a pickup either. I would recommend either fender fa125 or fender cd 60 v3. Both sounds amazing
The heck.. it sounds so much better than the Yamaha 310 and the Fender CD 60...such a well rounded smooth sound..just the right brightness. Sweet !
I'm buying one tomorrow for 80 dollars 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This is how you do sound check/sample right.. very well done mate!!

Do You know the type of its strings? Specifications
I just swapped the factory strings on my new DR100 for 10 gauge Elixir Polyweb and it sounds 100% better.
I have my vintage sunburst and i replace new strings ez920 d addario the gauge is 012.054 and sounds pretty impressive. Feels like gibson sound lol!😁

Do You know the specifications of the factory strings epiphone dr100?
regarding fingerstyle. which guitar is the best?
yamaha f310.
epiphone dr100
fender cd 60 v3
You wish it could be that simple ;) I would choose CD60 from these 3 but that's just my personal preference here ;)
Beautiful playing, sir. However, I'm not so sure if I like the sound of this guitar; this particular timbre.
Which is better between this and fender cd60s overall. Like playability, sound, comfort?
Steer clear from Fender acoustics.
Sounds good !
Did you mod the guitar or is this stock?
Can I ask if this guitar has a Pick up?
No, but if you are... Go for squier series in acoustic, by fender.
Very nice
What song are you playing?
can i have the equalizer for this guitar?
No
Co lepsze ta gitara czy Yamaha f310
Yamaha duże taniej. Dźwięk jest identyczny
which is better u think, DR-100 or CD-60........actually i can't understand which one buy..!
mintu sarkar I would go for Fender
what kind of string u use
In general I use elixir optiweb 11 phosphor bronze but these are stock strings

Daniel that’s weird. I bet these were nothing higher than 12s
