30 years. It's been 30 years.
It feels like yesterday.
Given I live just a few blocks away from the place where Mortal Kombat first debuted, I feel the need to pay my respects, even though that arcade is now a Walmart Market. I'll just eat at the pizza place across the street; no doubt where the dev team celebrated a successful launch.
That's amazing! I have slightly similar memories; but damn 30 years is crazy when you stop and think of it.
I do hope even if there's no new MK game; I hope there is something planned for the 30th anniversary!
@@eurke Same. I'm not going to tempt fate and take the 76, and burst out of the bus in the hopes that I could storm the gate, hoping to find something.
There used to be an arcade not far from here: Dennis' Place For Games. It had genuine first edition cabinets for the first two games. So genuine, they still had the test ROMs in them, because Dennis' Place was a play testing site.
It was also a great place to buy drugs. Needless to say, that entire building doesn't exist anymore. Now, it's a Blaze Pizza.
Mortal kombat 1 and Mortal kombat 2 was the best game ever played in the super nintendo

For me, technically Street Fighter II was my first fighting game; but Mortal Kombat instantly became my favourite.

This was very good, but it doesn't have that that same raw intensity to it, but this is very good.

Great to hear some covers of old Mortal Kombat tunes after buying a Shao Kahn figure. Now my fingers are crossed for the upcoming film to also impress.

@@eurke Then you might like Shao Kahn figures as well. McFarlane Toys' Shao Kahn and Storm Collectibles' Shao Kahn are two fan favorites.

@@eurke Try not to be alarmed by the price, though. Seeing that the McFarlane Toys' Shao Kahn was cheaper and more available, I chose him instead.
