- The STIHL BGA 300 BATTERY BACKPACK BLOWER will be available from Autumn 2022.
STIHL’S FIRST BACKPACK CORDLESS PROFESSIONAL BLOWER
The new BGA 300 is STIHL’s first cordless backpack blower for professional users, offering high performance and a significantly less disruptive sound thanks to its innovative STIHL Noise Reduction System.
With a blowing force of 26 newton, STIHL’s new BGA 300 cordless backpack blower is the most powerful in the STIHL cordless range and features a high air speed to ensure even wet, heavy autumn leaves can be cleared quickly and efficiently. The new cordless blower is powered using STIHL’s professional AR 2000 L or AR 3000 L backpack batteries.
Thanks to the STIHL Noise Reduction System, the BGA 300 produces fewer high pitch frequencies often associated with cordless blowers, meaning operation is much more pleasant and less intrusive for bystanders. Thanks to this, the BGA 300 is well suited for use in noise-sensitive areas such as schools, parks or around public amenities.
The maximum blowing force can be selected from three power setting options via the selector switch, allowing for efficient energy management and longer runtimes. Boost mode may also be selected to provide maximum power for the toughest clearing jobs. Furthermore, the new cordless blower features an LED power display and cruise control function to enable simple energy management and comfort.
For the optimum blowing angle the BGA 300 boasts a curved nozzle as standard, and the blower tube length can easily be adjusted to meet different requirements and operating situations. A straight nozzle is also available as an accessory.
The BGA 300 is exceptionally easy to handle thanks to its slim design and comfortable carrying system that optimally distributes the weight of the backpack device and reduces the strain on the user when used for long periods.
Other features include wide feet for secure footing whilst on the ground, a hook for the blower tube for easy transport and storage, as well as compatibility with the new Smart Connector 2 A.

I was looking for a lightweight blower for my deck. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxgioZQl3J5wPGAeDINzbieKbT5qomSEx3 There are some huge trees around my house and the leaves and pods drop all over my deck. Having to move furniture around to sweep has become too big a chore. This blower was the answer. It is light enough for this 70yr old lady and powerful enough to blow all the tree droppings off my rather large deck. Thank you B&D. Be aware the cord is not included. I use a 3 prong outdoor cord 25' cord for my 12' x 20' deck. The cord retainer works very well, but don't try to pass the plug through it. That is NOT how it works. You just have to loop the cord and it works great. One of my best purchases. Very happy.
For a second I didn’t noticed the number 1 in the weight.
For a second I had my hops high. Thank you for the video. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Enjoyed the video as always 👍
We have plenty of Stihl battery kit but, for us, the mowers and backpack blowers are still a long way off being able to replace the petrol equivalents. It's a step in the right direction.
I feel the same!
Sounds like a little turbo powering up, very cool 👌
I live in California, battery is ok as a quick back up emergency type situation which i think its good. I will never get rid of my Stihl gas equipment
Sound like helicopter start🚁🚁
A very quiet helicopter 😉
@@TheFullyChargedGardener Not for me, i used loud headphones

Hello there! Great movie!
Do you still feel the need of wearing ear protection?
Red some of the comments, i make use of a BG 86 and a backpack blower ( chinese brand not worthy mention) and on a daily basis really enjoy using my 36 V handheld Makita blower.
It is nice they make the steps towards battery usage but i think the time of backpack battery blower with such a weight is just not yet here. And there is one more thing related to the battery usage...
The faster and deeper you discharge the battery, the sooner it will give up.
I wonder what the lifespan of a 100 time deeply discharged battery will be.
Thanks for sharing!
Greets from The Netherlands!
Once we get halfway I'll have to go home and charge finish up tomorrow
9.4 kg AR3000L battery + 7.3 kg blower = 16.7 kg. Br550 10.1 kg. Good luck with your back and retirement.
With the way the harness spreads the weight, it’s actually not too bad 😀
Was excited about this seeing it at the trade show but after seeing the $1500 price tag that’s a hard pass for me. I’ll take my 800 and add another.
How does the air flow of this electric version vs your biggest gas backpack blower?
Also how does it compare to the BG55
Looking forward to getting hold of one of these. Although having to carry 7 of the 3000 battery packs for a full days work would be a huge investment. Still a long way to go with the blowers.
It is great that manufacturers are investing in the development of battery blowers, they are fantastic in noise sensitive areas, still a long way to go before they can match the performance of the BR800 :)
@@TheFullyChargedGardener totally agree mate.
@@scottellwoodgardening287 you use the blower for 7 hours straight day? When do you find time to mow, trim? Haha I would say in a 12 hour day the blower gets used for 1 hour straight maybe a bit longer depending on the jobs
@@cchristianb I’m thinking more of winter time and leaf blowing. Petrol will still be the way forward with the blowers at this time of year.
Just use gas
Nice and quiet Good video thanks
😀 Thank you for watching 👍
That looks a very cool machine, good specs, can it be run with 2 ap battery's in a adapter as well.
👍👍
Unfortunately It does not work with the existing AP adapter.
Hello nice video, I have the Bga 200 with a blowing force of 21 N this one has a blowing force of 26 N more powerful, but between the bga 200 and bga 300 I prefer the bga 200 because it's more lighter.
If you don't use the boost feature, what kind of runtime will you get with your BGA200 using an AP300S?
How long can it blow for before battery runs out of power?
It's a cool unit no doubt about that!
But it's £1500 quid just for a battery and charger 😅, you can buy a BR800 for less than 700quid and its got way more grunt! Madness
Strong Sci-fi vibe from this machine!
It is a cool bit of kit.
I really want one but they’re £2000!
Nice review but over 3000 euros for a garden blower is madness!
What is this blower comparable to from a petrol equivalent? BR 600? 500? Thanks.
I believe it is the BR500
@@TheFullyChargedGardener Fairly good then :)
Just spent an hour messing with a Stihl battery motor, magnetic blades on coils have come loose so whipped them out and hopefully it'll live a bit longer😅 Are Stihl having a backpack you can use that battery on to run other machines on from the cord or is it specifically for that blower, if that makes sense?
This battery fits onto a harness, so it can be used with other kit - I will make a video on this. Cheers for watching chap 👍
@@TheFullyChargedGardener cheers 👍 thought that may be the case👌
How are your shoulders after using more than 20 min?
Absolutely fine - the harness is very well padded and very comfortable.
Thank you for watching
Have they published the CFM airflow rating yet?
I saw 500 and saw 571 not sure which is accurate. 25 newtons. 194 mph
can you comment if the plug end on the ar3000l is interchangeable with the previous equipment (example, bga100) or has it been changed a 3rd time?
Hi, you can attach the AR L batteries to this harness. m.stihl.co.uk/STIHL-Products/Cordless-power-systems/AP-System-Large-Gardens-Professionals/AP-System-Professional-cordless-tools/Accessories-for-professional-cordless-tools/2109239-133978/ar-l-carrying-system.aspx
And with the AR L adapter cable - you can use this battery with the existing range of machines like the BGA 100 👍
Clibbins gobbless
Side by Side with a Stihl petrol blower, how does it stack up?
The key advantage it has over a petrol blower is noise. It is much quieter.
In terms of power - it can’t compete with the BR800. Runtime will also be a limiting factor for some.
But if you need to get a job done efficiently in a noise sensitive area - game changer 👍
Is this sold in the U.S.? If so, where can it be purchased?
Your best bet is to check with your local STIHL dealer about availability.
Thank you for watching 👍
Interesting that they're branding this one as a BGA rather than a BR given it's a backpack blower.
Probably would have had too many funny comments if the had called it a BRA 🤣
when will these be available to buy?
Your Local Stihl dealer is the best person to ask. thank you for watching.
Wow almost 38 pounds without the tube is way to heavy 🤦♂️
at least 600 bucks once this thing comes out, you can get a walk behind blower for that price
They key point about this machine is how quiet it is. Thank you for watching 👍
@@TheFullyChargedGardener Doesn't sound quiet at all, loud high pitched sound is about right.
What is the charge time for the ar3000l
Approximately 220 minutes using the AL500 charger.
16.9 Kg! That's the only thing that puts me off this model. I could handle perhaps 10 Kg on my back. But 16.9 Kg is too heavy in my opinion.
You definitely know that you have it on your back - But the harness is very comfortable and it feels well balanced.
Probably the price of 4 br 600
I love the idea but until they can exceed the power of gas equipment I wont switch
The stand out feature for me, is how quiet they are compared to the petrol machines.
@@TheFullyChargedGardener And It'll take double the time to finish the job compared to gas.
@@Tundra_Guy agreed and time is money. Also, from what I understand this setup is $2300 and you'd have to buy several extra battery packs. Also the blowing force is only 26N and an echo 9010t is like 48N and you can buy an 9010t for like $629. So, it doesn't make sense to lose efficiency and pay 4 times the amount of money for the blower.
Saya dari Indonesia mau beli
Just an hr? That’s it… ?? Not getting one..
Thank you for watching
dont use the bended pipe for a blower.. its gonna fuck up your back and its a struggle to run around with... dont know why they even sell it with that... get a straight peice of pipe or cut the pipe where it bends... it will be so much better i promise... i went from not liking the blower to love it... before it would try to spin me right all the time.. i found a straight price and i could control it on cruise control with 1 finger not kidding...
24 N, not 26 N
Incorrect - The BGA 300 has a blowing force of 26N
Kirim indonesia
61 minutes of boost time to still have less power than gas and it weighs significantly more than gas backpack blowers. Maybe in another 10 years.
Granted, it can’t compete with the likes of the BR800 for power. And runtime will still be a limitation for some.
But one advantage it does have - low noise. It is a great option if you are working in noise sensitive areas.
Thank you for watching 👍
You'll run out of juice with that thing before you're done with it.
Managed to get it all cleared and still had plenty of charge.
The machines aren’t for everyone. If they don’t fit your workflow - then simply don’t buy one 👍
These battery power stuff is a waste of money. Not to mention worse on the environment but ppl just don’t see it. The material it takes to make batteries the energy and fuel it takes to charge, each time you charge the battery loses its optimal charge and after they are junk they become landfill!! Doing lawn care with them is a waste as well.
Looks too big
Compared to a petrol backpack blower?
@@TheFullyChargedGardener yer looks like the petrol version sits higher on your back? I could be wrong!
16kg ? Since we are in America lets go with lbs. for kicks and giggles great video though 👍
