Thanks Mark. I had the BR800 with the side pull start. Once you learned how to start it correctly, it worked really well So Much so that My Sister has it now and really likes it, She has no issues starting it... It's not a "JERK" Start like normal LOL... I live in the Woods now with no big need for a Big blower of that size.
@@MarkThomasBuilder The Start recoil works like the Old Briggs windup Push button start. You Gently pull on the Rope to the Compression Stroke, on the next pull the Spring winds up to the point where it overcomes the Compression and spins the Engine over. You have to break the Habit of yanking on the Rope......
Of course everyone is different 2 months of owning the Stihl 800c with side start I was finding myself starting the blower on the ground so at that point i ended up changing it to the regular pull start, so much more efficient for myself but like you said once you learn how to start it correctly it’s a great idea, I just don’t have the patience going from job to job and putting it on my back just to have to take it back off to start it bc it wasn’t working for me
Mark Thomas! Just came across this Video. There is always going to be a power and runtime advantage with gas powered products, of course, but Battery Technology will continue to evolve. We can Thank the Global Warming Zealots for that! 🤭 This blower looks to be very well thought out and engineered. My dumb question is can it just run on two batteries, and what would that run time be? It would make for good video material, to compare this to Milwaukee’s backpack blower, which I understand is a bit underwhelming? @ 04:06 Beautiful imagery there Mark, on your gorgeous Property. Hey, if ‘Oakley’ approves it, how can ya go wrong?! 😊 🐶 SLO Mo was cool! Good stuff Mark! 👍💪🇺🇸
Thanks George, this would be an interesting comparison to the Milwaukee blower. I've only tested the Milwaukee one at the Equip Expo and it seemed to work well for battery power, but I haven't tried it in real conditions. The ECHO website has a runtime chart on this blower with different configurations. 2 - 5Ah batteries run 20 minutes on turbo and 35 minutes not on turbo. I also recall this turning on for me with just 1 - 8Ah battery. I didn't try it out to see if it continues to run. Now I'm curious and will have to try it out.
The price is 😮 thought it would be more expensive. I have an ego mower ❤❤ their back pack is about the same, but I feel they're heavy. My ryobi gas is about as heavy as I can use. And run time is better. Plus , getting extra batteries for extended run time is extremely expensive !!!
I know the great thinking politicians want battery power because of what ever BS they feed us. I'm not againt battery power it does have their place in the world but I want it to be my choice. My neighbor has all battery lawn toys and yes its quiter but he can't cut the lawn on one battery pack. He has to have other packs ready to go. Not to mention when the grass is tall its harder for a battey power to cut it leading to less run time. . My old Craftsman mower I can cut front and back on one tank and have some left over. I feel sorry for the landscaping companies because buying battery tools is very expensive. Of course its less maintenance but battery packs go bad over time and they are very expensive especially the bigger packs. The tool may last for years to come but the battery pack looses efficiency over time and get less run time. What I dont like is big box stores dont have a large selection of gas power items. They give you like 2 choices of the lowest cheapest models but like 10 battey options. You may not notice it but stores and politicians are forcing you to buy battey power but not actually saying it. I'm wondering if the profit is greater on battery items. Now your forced to by backup battery packs.
I know what you're saying. It's all changing pretty fast. I prefer gas for some items and battery for others. The cost for a person to start a lawn care business with battery is a lot of money.
Do you prefer battery or gas-powered backpack blowers?
Echo 9010T backpack blower for the win 🏆
I have the 8010 and it's a beast! I'm planning on upgrading to the 9010, especially for big leaf cleanups in the fall.
@@MarkThomasBuilder Be prepared to go through gas like crazy 🤪 🤣
Good point!🙌

Thanks, I always wondered what the opinions were on that particular model, even after long time use.

The biggest advantage to electric is avoiding the fumes from gas. Thirty percent of of exhaust contains aerosols which are very toxic to the body.

I would like batteries a whole lot more if the batteries were standardized so you could use them in different brands.
In California they’re forcing us by law. You can ONLY buy battery powered equipment now
