Following the battle with Majin Boo, our heroes settle into more normal lives. All seems peaceful, until numerous planets begin disappearing and the Supreme Kai soon realize that Beerus, the God of Destruction, has awoken from his slumber!
In search of “Super Saiyan God”, a being he foresaw in a prophetic dream, Beerus and his attendant Whis travel to King Kai's planet in search of Son Goku, the Saiyan who defeated Frieza. Goku, who is training on Kai's planet, ignores his advice and challenges Beerus to test his true strength. After a brief and completely one-sided battle that leaves Goku unconscious, Beerus heads to Earth to find out what Vegeta knows about Super Saiyan God.
On Earth, Bulma is celebrating her birthday on a Capsule Corp cruise liner, but the festivities have been interrupted by the arrival of two mysterious guests. After quickly dispatching Gohan, Majin Boo, and Gotenks, the uninvited guest sets his eyes on Vegeta, who realizes who he is - the God of Destruction, Beerus!

The Manga version was pretty short but i enjoyed it even though the Movie version is the best, when Goku screamed: I WILL NOT LET YOU DESTROY MY WORLD and then the music kicked was pure hype

Manga of this arc was short but I really like how it connected the previous arcs of buu and next arc of champa vs beerus and further next arc of revenge of freeza in a very interestinn way by showing importantly Goku image training and Champa appearance and unfusion of kaioshin and ofcourse champa destroying freeza recon group.

I love most of the additions the manga version adds to this story, like Goku's mental training, Champa being there looking for the super dragon balls, the chain effect of RoF starting because of that (even if it wasn't covered in the manga), the fact we see Shin and Kibito unfusing and them knowing full well who Beerus and Champa are (instead of being clueless like in the anime) and even Beerus doing his job at the start.
I just wish it was longer, it basically skips almost all of the fights, Bulma's party and so on...
I hope one day they will create a new version of Super that encompasses all the best aspects of the different versions (anime, manga, movie) into one.

I like the movie ver. more! But i wish it had included those scene of Champa, im sure it would have blow up our minds back in the day. Not the scenes with Sorbet, maybe only Champa killing those soldiers in the ship but leaving it there.
I like the manga version of battle of gods even tho it was short it just shows the readers that there’s more to come within the Dbs manga

in the manga: gotenks goes ssj3 on beerus
in the anime: gotenks doesn't even use ssj on beerus
goten and trunks are the definition of wasted potential.

Personally i think that the readability of Toyotaro dbs isn’t the worst but its unfortunately no where near as good as Akira Toriyamas db.
In db most pages have 6 panels with som having anywhere from 1 to 8. But with dbs its a whole lot more cramped and the panels are not allowed to breath especially during talking scenes and while toriyama would rarely use mid tones i believe they’re over used in toyotaros work. And finally the poses aren’t stiff but are over used especially the vegeta one.
Toriyama may have made less use of midtones partially because of his schedule. He’s infamous for using up time for writing on watching movies and stuff and rushing out chapters close to the deadline. He was just that good.

Just a quick question, you gonna do the resurrection F manga? (Yes, resurrection F has a manga, but only has 3 chapters and it doesn’t conclude the story due to it never being finished, it was mostly for promoting the movie) it’s pretty short (shorter than this) and I think it would be worth it.
I thought about doing it, but it wasnt in color (to my knowledge) and like you said, it wasnt finished. I thought about perhaps covering the movie version instead at a later date.
@@justinsden ik this is probably dumb to say but some fan called “roger” made 2 fan mangas (chapters 4 and 5) that finish the story. Ik they are fan mades and not canon but they adapt the movie and some aspects of the anime very well.

I like seeing the differences between the manga & anime so this is a cool video to see & I think the movie covered battle of the gods story the best whilst the anime is sort of ok with its changes 😂 & the manga...wel it's there & I just find it interesting how torytoro changed it for the manga 🤷♂️ movie retellings of dragon ball super are kind of meh 🤔
