How to make vanilla swords better: give big glowing effect and make the swords have ranged attack.
Copper short sword:
glowing is pretty thats why it works
funny human monkey brain likes pretty glowy
Basically, but not every sword need it
or just make them bigger
And make them actually aimable too so you can swing downwards!
Not sure how I feel about it adding so many projectiles to swords, however the unique swings and combos are awesome.
It's a weird balance where you have to make sure to give the weapons more range while still being melee since most enemies deal contact damage. Despite insane amounts of armor you can sort of understand why the late game gives more ranged attacks to enemies as enemies get more attack damage and speed
@@Whispitt still would be very cool if melee class was more about defence/dodges/life regen and generally was on a bulkier side but still having true melee weapons without projectiles
Dashing abilities like modded Terra Blade and some defensive abilities would be much better. It still keeps being a melee instead of some nonsense projectiles.

So the way to make *melee* better is giving them projectiles, dash across the screen and add so much glowing effect that it gonna permanently blind you every time you use it.

As if getting fucking murdered by a boss because you got close to their 600 kilometer range is any better (Melee is a shit fucking class without projectiles

This mod looks quite nice. I'd rather the melee weapons stay as melee instead of reverting the existing changes from 1.4.4, but all the other content looks phenomenal!
Honestly these mods just make terraria so much more fun

I always appreciate these kinds of mods. I love Calamity, Thorium (pleeeease update soon), and all sorts of big content adding mods. But I get overwhelmed by the new stuff sometimes, so the Vanilla stuff is all good for me. Tweaks to weapons like this while remaining the same is god tier for me.
His accent gets thicker every video. His power is increasing and if we don't do something about it now, he will become unstoppable
I think a better way to rework melee weapons is to keep them as melee weapons but give them some type of extra movement tool
Tbh, I’m not a huge fan of the melee reworks, but everything else is absolutely incredible. I just feel like melee should actually be melee and not just pew pew laser sword

@@minusone7529 I personally think that a greater emphasis on true melee is the best for Terraria's melee, even if it's just to make it more distinct from the other classes. But the spell tomes in this mod are 👌 ✨Distinct ✨

terraria mods reworking everything better than terraria themselves is just funny
I think that adding ranged attacks to most melee weapons severely misses the point of a 'melee' weapon, while it's fine for end-game melee weapons to have projectiles early game it should be more of a brawling type close range weapon type as it is in the first place a 'melee' weapon, I do like some of them, for example the volcano (fiery greatsword), though I think if it left the fire wall in place where you swung the weapon rather than firing it outward. The magic weapons though, chef's kiss, magic is the quintesential 'looks good and makes you feel like god calling upon the elements' combat style, so enhancing that and giving magic weapons some more identity through the charging mechanic is imo a great idea.

Once I finish my expert mode ranger playthrough, I think I should start playing some mods. This and calamity both seem the most well thought out that I've see so far

This mod's minion AI change is so good that my minions tracked the infernum mod queen bee's swoosh charges perfectly
I think that attacking weapons with accumulation have such a system:
1st stage 1x,
2nd stage 2x,
3 stage 5x,
4 stage 7x,
5th stage 10x.
listen the updates to the vanilla weapons were nice but the nerf to my baby the terablade hurts beyond what words can muster. this mod makes me happy
I'm not all that fond of the projectiles being given to a lot of these. I get it, projectile swords are cool, but so are swords that incentivize Leroy Jenkins-ing bosses.
personally i hate screen clutter from effects in platformers but terraria has always been one that is an exception. Problem is, some glow effects on swords are like flash bangs and some dont logically make sense to have projectiles
without these mods I don't know what I would do thanks bro
I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that this version of the space gun, despite looking more powerful, seemed to have lower overall damage than the vanilla one in the tests you ran.
DUDE, i'm doing a new playthrough of calamity and you bring me THIS masterpiece of a mod.
now i gotta start over with this included...
The people in the top section keeps complaining about melee being ranged but some bosses especially if you play in expert or master mode always have very damaging contact damage despite the armor
Though certain mods fixes that and some mods like calamity make a different class for melee without projectiles
Sometimes improving how the weapon swing is needed in most terraria weapons, most spears in base game are underwhelming and short sword are essentially a niche no one wants to use, heck boomerangs only have a proper viability in early to mid game
Yoyos can only do so much, the range on a truly melee build tend to not be adequate for long term fights or bosses, especially when on a higher difficulty

Tmodloader isn’t in 1.4.4 yet. I’m sure the mod developers will add toggles when Tmod updates.

Judging by the quality of this, and many other mods (such as calamity) lately, it's looking to me like we've entered a new age of terraria modding. The move to 1.4 for mods was tough but clearly well worth it as mods have not only adapted, but improved altogether; it's like 1.4 is the EVERYTHING update, including mods!
Is it compatible with Calamity? Does it change modded weapon animations too?
Which one is better the MEAC mod or this mod? If both is better can we combine both?
for a true melee player this is a nightmare since almost all melee weapon now shoot projectile

I personally feel like the vanilla ones fit way better than the mod ones, but they really did a great job with those weapons
Might as well playing Ranged class than playing melee but almost all of it projectile based weapons.
Most of the mod's rework or effect is too much. I can understand if more end-game or post mech bosses weapons get fancy effects but giving pre-HM weapons more effect is just too much.
The only thing i loved from this mod's weapon rework is their Phaseblade effect.
So the melees are basically much more flashier and flexible utility.. And it's also create projectiles.
the range on the phaseblades is kinda unecessary, maybe replacing it for knockback would be better
I’m doing a playthrough with Dawn and Calamity, and it was going great until an update released which made the custom swing animation apply to modded swords too. This severely handicapped some of the weapons I had, like the Wind Blade and Biome Blade by killing their attack speed. I wish there was a way to disable the effect only on modded swords, as well as all of the other non weapon rework stuff
