T2 was probably his biggest hit and that came out in the early 90's, but everything went downhill from there as far as being blockbuster successes. Most everything he's best known for came out in the 80's. While I liked movies like Eraser, True Lies, and Last Action Hero, if you ask somebody about Arnold they are going to bring up Conan, Predator, or Terminator, which started in the 80's. Malkovich, Cage and others have played slightly altered versions of themselves in movies, so this Hans and Franz movie could work. Also, congrats on providing a format where these action stars like Schwarzenegger and Harrison Ford can show their brutal comedic timing.

This is so wonderful. Arnold has spent nearly all of his adult life as this imposing figure in everyone's eyes, both as a bodybuilder and an A-list action movie blockbuster star and here... it's so clear in his expressions and the way he looks around the room after a punchline that he truly enjoys it when he's able to be funny and make everyone around him laugh. 😊

As a boy growing up in Austria I saw the episode where Arnold ridiculed Conan's body when it aired (I must have been around 14 then). It was one of the funniest things I had ever seen at that point in my life and it burned itself into my young, impressionable brain. I actually couldn't believe what I was seeing, because up to that point I had known Arnold from dubbed action movies only. Witnessing him in this context, speaking in that thick Austrian accent was surreal.

This is one of the hallmarks of a great Conan podcast episode. Conan just joking around with his guest and Sona laughing uncontrollably on the background.
