"...the sun blind for the roof can be opened or closed with a simple wave of the hand. Possibly a little awkward if you're the queen on official duty, but otherwise quite fun..." Best lines I've ever heard about a sun blind! Spectacular stuff Mr. Catchpole.
Mr Catchpole; I have long believed that hybrid technology belongs in vehicles exactly like the Range Rover and it's large American counterparts and similarly sized vehicles in the market. It came as a bit of a surprise that you and Carfection seem to agree or at least see the merit in such an application of the technology. Thank you for this and once again, keep up the great work. Sincerely A loyal viewer and subscriber
the hybrid luxury vehicles are god send for countries with high tax rates on petrol and diesal engines for example in sri lanka the range rover p400e autobiography is 35 million lkr about 224350usd from the dealer, and the range rover sport tdv6 is also 35 million lkr. the hybird option in the range rover isnt only for economy its to ensure sales in countires with high tax rates
I thought the columns on the front of my house were impressive until I saw those, well that was emasculating. The new Range Rover is so nice, I much prefer it over the Bentayga. That center console in the back is crazy.
Nobody ever understands me when I tell them that Rolls Royce, Bentley, Range Rover, etc. would only benefit from a pure EV. I guess I will just point them to this video now. Well done!
dude calm down its just a car its a well know fact that hybrids having 2 powertrain 2 sources of fuel means there more things to go wrong and battery are known to loss its charge just look at your smart phone after 2 year it drains the battery almost instantly even the prius have battery issue after a few years but then again range rover owner dont really give a shit most of this people only hold on to there cars for max 5 years that why the market is flooded with 10k s class
Well, at least there's only ~1 moving part in the "E" part of the system, so as long as you only run on EV mode the thing should last a thousand million years. Sadly not - the battery will give out 2 days after the warranty does *xD*
I'm not sure who you're talking about, but just like every other nation on Earth who produces cars, there are both good, bad, and truly extraordinary Japanese cars. Take a second to enjoy the diversity to which we have been bestowed...
I like the content you produce, but there is something wrong with the sound editing of your videos. The monologues are hard to understand. They are somehow as if they have low definition. It is rather appearant in the first min of this video for example and not limited to this video...
Yeah, it all looks great, but how long until the electric gizmos all start shutting down one at a time? I'm not being picky, i'm asking based on my own and mates' experience of shoddy Landy electrics. It started going downhill with the Discovery 1 and then accelerated...
I'm convinced. I think it looks like a great Range Rover, highly capable, efficient and well spec'd in Autobiography trim. I need to get saving now....
Russell It's not really 109mpg. It's the same with the Mitsubishi phev. That figure is based on the short test loop all new cars take. In the real world you be lucky to get a third of that, if for example you were driving to the south of France.
I saw this at Geneva and the rear leg room was simply horrific even with a normal average driver or co-pilot in the front. I don't see any use or luxurious feel about the 40 degree seat back declining or the footrest. It's just a gimmick.
🤣🤣🤣 Make sure the “pheasants” aren’t revolting... I actually like the concept of converting rigs like this to PHEV. The more utilitarian vehicles we can convert and reduce or eliminate petroleum usage from, the less we need to mess with Camaros and 911s and Ferraris. If everyone going in and out of the city was puttering around on electric power, it would be great for the enthusiast cars. Let’s stop wasting petrol on commuter and utility vehicles, save it for the sports/collector/enthusiast cars.
Haha," I'm not a spa type of person" no kidding, he looks like a stressed out Wolverine :) Great review though, I'm a fan, put him up there with Mat Watson, Harry, from Harry"s Garage, and very underrated, Tom Voelk, from Driven Car Reviews.
RR PHEV SUCKS!! Read my nightmare with RR before buying one.New 2020 RR PHEV I bought 3 months ago from Official dealer in GA had orange engine light turned on when I came back home, still turned on after 3 times back to dealer service with changing different parts. Now has been at service 4th time for last month and they said that all this model cars in the world will be recalled for new hybride software that will be ready at the end of September 2020. 3 months after buying a new very expensive car, still stuck to service. Dealer said that JLR refused replacement because any car they replace will need the same software update all p400e models in the world will be recalled. JLR used my car as a lab to find a common defect but still not replaced or refunded.
Hm 4 cylinders... what a shame, don’t know if it can be as smooth as a V6 etc. but I think it’s primarily made for the Chinese market with the tax regulations etc
This one is actually fuel-efficient. Doesn't matter which one you buy you are head and shoulders above other luxury SUV buyers. Bentayga and Cullinan owners being no exception.
I'd still buy the diesel in the end the both gonna have the same real world fuel economy and with the diesel you have less things to go wrong and its much cheaper
probably 5 minutes shorter, if that is even possible. joking aside, I quite like it, but hopefully it didn't lose any of its off-road capabilities. I'm not sure about that
5 minutes, or 30 miles, whichever comes first as they say *xD* In all seriousness though, I'd rather pick up an older Landy... for 1/100th of the price *:)*
Dont get me wrong I like range rovers too, and its not hard to understand why. However reliability is a huge issue for me and i dont understand people who dont care for it.
I am the same, sort of... I don't mind if a car breaks down. Every car in history has had it's fair share of problems. What does frustrate me however, is when a car is so complicated you can't fix it when it goes wrong, leaving you stranded at the side of the road, at the mercy of the elements, and the AA driver who may or may not come to your rescue. Cars are becoming more and more like phones in the sense that when they break, you just throw them away and get another. It's actually quite sad.
pheasants not peasants - I died

skinny wolverine is getting better than the bald head
I'm gonna improve that joke for you: "skinny Woverine is getting better than young Charles Xavier"
hahahaha nice one! Hope James McAvoy & Hugh Jackman sees this!
Getting better? Here has been at this forever.
Barry Quinn yep. Easily
kona328WH he has always been a fave of mine.
With reviews as good as these you don't even have to like the car to enjoy. 👍
Such an amusing intro....thanks
4:55 Audi could learn a thing or two from combining a screen with physical controls for the radio and climate, JLR has done a good job with that
This is by far the best car review I have seen, especially of a Range Rover. Keep it going!
This intro was absolutely amazing! There is a lot more accuracey to it than some may believe. Cheers

The best review of the Range Rover P400 PHEV on the entirety of RUclips.
Henry makes any and every review fun and informative. Keep up the amazing work.
The review is a 10/10, keep it up Carfection
Shame there's no full ev plenty of space for batteries
Not the usual type of car that Henry likes to get his hands on... but the tone of the review made for a compelling watch. Epic as always guys. 👍🏼
Nicely tongue in cheek Henry. Great video.

Great review as always. Stunning palace and background too.
Maccabees Tha GodSon Blenheim I believe
I thought the columns on the front of my house were impressive until I saw those, well that was emasculating. The new Range Rover is so nice, I much prefer it over the Bentayga. That center console in the back is crazy.
I think it should have the v8 and the electric motor together. So that it will be 650 hp suv.
Nobody ever understands me when I tell them that Rolls Royce, Bentley, Range Rover, etc. would only benefit from a pure EV. I guess I will just point them to this video now. Well done!
What a great review. Thank you for that. I was aiming for another S/C V8, but I think you've changed my mind. Need to test it!
Maybe the v6 is better
What did u go for which engine?
At 2:46, the opening mechanism of that cover for charging port looks so cheap and flimsy for such an expensive car.
You’ll never lose that hot hatch though no matter how hard you try...
Great footage and great narration.
Henry Catchpole is one of my absolute automotive journalists. Brilliant!!
Wow, an another Range Rover with triple the chances of things going wrong when the warranty runs out.
Sang Eeth. Are they that bad?
TiggerLiveToo Hahahahaha, the truth stings, eh?

That center armrest in the back ends up blocking the vents.
Seriously mate u r the best car presenter on you tube - pls keep it up - love it. 👍
I really like the videos. Keep it up!
I like the content you produce, but there is something wrong with the sound editing of your videos. The monologues are hard to understand. They are somehow as if they have low definition. It is rather appearant in the first min of this video for example and not limited to this video...
Great presenting Henry, always entertaining and compelling 👌
Great Video Review. I hope plenty of Range Rover buyers consider the New P400e PHEV
I love that silver panel that runs down the front door.jaguar did that for a while. stunning looking car!...
I bet that the combination "Complicated hybrid system" and "Range Rover" means more time in the shop than on the driveway.
P robably
H ave to
E nroll
V ehicle, in extended warranty program (best I could come up with in 5 minutes)...
Well no, Land Rover's reliability reputation has been increasing from being bought by TaTa. Surprisingly.
Brilliant video!
Theoretically 31 miles actual 14 miles WTF?!
Yeah, it all looks great, but how long until the electric gizmos all start shutting down one at a time?
I'm not being picky, i'm asking based on my own and mates' experience of shoddy Landy electrics.
It started going downhill with the Discovery 1 and then accelerated...
I'm amazed the new phantom isn't electric tbh, silent running and gearless acceleration seem like the perfect addition to it.
I'm convinced. I think it looks like a great Range Rover, highly capable, efficient and well spec'd in Autobiography trim. I need to get saving now....
hello!do you prefer the v6 diesel or the hybride ?thank you so much
This guy is actually hilarious
Pheasants sorry not peasants hahahaha. The means by which coffee neatly transferred from my mouth to the screen.
Nice upgrades but I’d stick to the TDV8
Great video, entertaining and informative. Top job.
Very good review.
How close to 100mpg did you actually get?
Great review Henry as always, of a truly great car!
Carfection we will miss you.
Am about to buy a Range Rover I think I will go for the P400e thanks to your review.
Which place are they in?
So what was the average mpg
Range Rover claim 101 mpg but what was your consumption during real-life driving?
Wading that PHEV is really ballsy! Imagine it getting scutch after water entry to the motor or battery compartment.
I like the kid in the window at 0.33
400 hp and 100 mpg? Not bad. Not bad at all.
Russell
It's not really 109mpg. It's the same with the Mitsubishi phev. That figure is based on the short test loop all new cars take. In the real world you be lucky to get a third of that, if for example you were driving to the south of France.
I'm hoping to review this car some day! So far I've done a few reviews of my own, curious what you guys think!
Beautiful presentation 💙
Where this video is filmed?
Blenheim Palace Oxfordshire England.
if America gets this, it’ll be about $250k because it’s a hybrid, not to mention the long-wheel version won’t make it west of the pond. Wanna bet?!
Very funny and good review! You need to be on a big show like top gear!
I would love to see Henry Catchpole, Matt Watson and Chris Harris team up.
Brilliant, and a fully electric would make more sense. It could compete directly with the Tesla Model X, which falls flat on luxury.
I saw this at Geneva and the rear leg room was simply horrific even with a normal average driver or co-pilot in the front. I don't see any use or luxurious feel about the 40 degree seat back declining or the footrest. It's just a gimmick.
Loving the odd bod jr haircut
Masterpiece of a video
The reviewer appears to have stolen his mannerisms wholesale from “Secret Life of Machines” presenter Tim Hunkin. So...I like.
Love it, car and video
I think the Ranger Rover has finally arrived at the place that it always wanted to be...
I'm disappointed. I think I'll have to wait for the new Bentayga PHEV for the ultimate toff looks.
🤣🤣🤣 Make sure the “pheasants” aren’t revolting...

Ahhhh, the Range Rover! The car that makes German carmakers look reliable by comparison!
Hm 4 cylinders... what a shame, don’t know if it can be as smooth as a V6 etc. but I think it’s primarily made for the Chinese market with the tax regulations etc
European too :)
Has it broken down yet?
This one is actually fuel-efficient. Doesn't matter which one you buy you are head and shoulders above other luxury SUV buyers. Bentayga and Cullinan owners being no exception.
2018 RR SVR please!
Range Rover's downside is electrical system, what can we expect from this new variant
A 4cyl in a Range??? I would stick to a Battle ship Grey TrailHawk, De-Baged please. Cheer's from B.C. Canada.
Good alt choice if you don't want 3L diesels
I'd still buy the diesel in the end the both gonna have the same real world fuel economy and with the diesel you have less things to go wrong and its much cheaper
Why not a full EV?
Anyone else notice the ghost in the background at 0:36 ? 😂
Oh, now you're good...
Oh! Now I want one.
Amazing car
Oasis of the Calm
XC90 T8 hybrid more powerful, safer, practical, and arguably better looking inside out.
Plugins are worse for the environment than just straight motors. The more you know
There's no way in hell that's doing 30 miles on eV and never close to 101 mpg.
Wow! it is electric car era already, Range Rover just started to have hybrid?
Popular opinion: Britain is miles ahead of America on the basis of natural beauty
Simply beautiful....
Real luxury 😎
Full EV Range Rover makes much more sense.
Uhhhh ghost @0:34?!
let's see if this takes 5 minutes longer to break down
pardon me sir, will do.
probably 5 minutes shorter, if that is even possible. joking aside, I quite like it, but hopefully it didn't lose any of its off-road capabilities. I'm not sure about that

You could almost call this review ASMR.
Inside it is lovely. From the outside though... Geez are these things ugly.
I rather take the Model X for that price
