I understand why they changed the majority of Episode 1 so much, as most of the original content truly is an exposition dump (granted, the contents of that exposition dump is sort of what got me interested in Alicization in the first place). Without some "quality action", Season 3 wouldn't do very well retaining viewers early on. So, I really dislike the changes, personally, but I understand them.
Did you know in Original Webnovel, Asuna actually killed that annoying bodyguard of her that tried to kill Kirito ?
She was so mad and she did not care, she killed him.
but in LN, editor told Author to change it coz they wanted Asuna to be the pure "white knight" and kirito do the dirty works. it's interesting that author again mentioned how asuna actually wanted to do it herself now.

Wow amazing job man, this video really really helps fill in the gaps for viewers that would like to know the differences between the anime and novels. I hope you do more of these, as someone who has read the novels I didn’t even come close to remembering all these little details. I can only imagine how much work this took you and I appreciate everything you do !

For me, it was to be able to see GGO Asuna. (So beautiful)
I thought Kirito left his photon sword to Sinon after the deathgun incident and she kept it as a good luck charm or something. Maybe I misread it or it has been a while since I last read the book.
I also liked the scene from the light novel that didn't get animated, (just a really nice interaction between the three of them) where Kirito and Asuna tease Sinon (after discussing more about the soul translator, flucitlight, and memory) about buying them sweets/pastries.
Overall, great content as always!

Not his photon sword. Remember when Shinkawa went at Kirito with the poison syringe? Same model that Johnny Black uses in this episode. The reason that it didn't impale Kirito is because it happened to hit an electrode that Kirito had left on his chest. That electrode is the thing he left with Sinon, and she turned into an amulet for a necklace.

My favourite part of the first episode of SAO Season Three is Kirito and Asuna with their lightsabers. I think those two should fight against Pito in a lightsaber duel.

Yeah I agree.
I think from what they're doing for the Anime series, I think they're doing a great job. It definitely helps that they're condensing the important plot points in Alicization, where in the book had to elborate the Underworld in great detail.
The original content stuff are the sprinkles on the cake for novel readers, in my opinion.

A lot was cut from the cafe scene. Mainly explanations, discussions, and some occasional funny stuff so I was a bit disappointed that they cut them out because some were funny and some made me have goosebumps :P

someone hacked into the experiment, and injected a 'virus' called the administrator that essentially limited everything that the humans (aka the test subjects ) could do so their expirement could not be carried out properly(the goal was to develope a human that is willing to break rules, but because of the virus, only select few would break the rules, which is eugeo and alice)

Actual spoilers:
The "seal of the right eye" is what you are referring to as the virus that inhibits breaking rules set up by a parent or higher authority. The administrator is an underworld inhabitant that stumbled upon admin commands and the taboo index and church were naturally formed due to the circumstances for a different reason.
It's not a virus. It was a traitor inside RATH (Yanai) who put the seal of the right eye to slow down the process of making a Bottom up AI. The crew only noticed it in Vol 17
I just have to be a bit honest, I'm a big fan of the SAO posts you make so you might see me post a comment a bit. Back to what I wanted to say, I would say in all, the light novels, mangas, and actuall anime are WAY different. First, the light novel adapts more to detail. Like if I'm talking about the first light novel (Sword Art Online Aincrad) the scene where Asuna gets naked in front of Kirito (CENSORED) has a bit extra to the novel. They also add the anti-crime activation and Kirito begging for mercy would actually be kinda cool to see in the show. My best guess is, they wanted to make the episodes shorter. So each episode can fit to 23 minutes long and get done with the show quicker. (In a good way.) As for the manga adaptation, when Asuna gets naked, Asuna and Kirito kiss at the end of the whole deal (which is kinda confusing). So overall, all are different. Sorry for the long explanation but thats the reason I have. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Good example is rezero. Theater royal selection speeches were a few lines in anime but were almost full episode worth of content in novel for each lady

author later also released chapter 16.6 and 16.7 and 16.8 and 16.9. each are the following evens after Kirito and Asuna got married, coz chapter 17 is a week time skip ! author said in afterword he might write more and name it 16.91 but i didn't read those yet if he did made them.
I think these are released in SAO ME ( Material Edition )

@@gummi4977 I think I kinda get where they were coming from, but I think it all depends whether the novel or whatever adaptation the book decides to have. The Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon series is a good example going along with Sailor Moon Crystal. Though it doesn't have a light novel or any of that sort, the manga was just a bit different from the real animation. Kinda like the way the manga drawings were vs. the real show animation if you get what I mean. Or if that awnsers what your saying. Tbh, I'm kinda confused by that.
@@LuckyPed10 Yeah, I forgot which chapter it was, but it was with the duel in a safe zone with Kuradeel which I think it had to be chapter 4. The part where Kirito and Asuna go hunting for something. (I forgot tbh.) Then its a cold dungeon their in and Asuna gets cold and gets wrapped around in Kirito's coat just like the scene with Lisbeth in the anime adaptation. (Which I think was Algade. Or that was a different city..?)
Edit: I was totally wrong. It was chapter 8 and while Kirito and Asuna were arriving from the teleport gate, they noticed a guild. So they ducked into bushes their height and Asuna was wearing red and white and didn't have a change of clothes. So then Kirito uses his coat to cover her. You know, so her clothing won't stand out. Then when Kirito removes his coat from her, Asuna said ot was cold.

It feels very refreshing to unlock events in the game that would have made awesome extra content on the Anime if placed properly, plus the satisfaction of raising the characters is fun too

Tbh the blue AI guy from the taboo index could that be Dr. Manhattan from the DC comics? They look pretty similar. Foxen it seems like you really like the opening part where Kirito and Eugeo are synched while swinging their swords, pretty lit scene, noticed that multiple times within the video.

Another thing I noticed is also the fact that in the novels, it was mentioned that Kirito just accompanies Asuna till the train station and bids her goodbye there but all of a sudden Kirito volunteers to accompany her until she reach home which she find unusual because her home is really far. (not sure if it was the train station but that's the point)

Kirito lives in the Saitama area which is way outside of Tokyo
Asuna's family does pretty well so she can afford a big place within Tokyo

I thought that GGO scene was just another way for them to sneak in an SAO Fatal Bullet advertisement, because they literally added the SAO Fatal Bullet logo on one of the buildings and Kureha was playing pool with someone else in GGO for like a split second before they switched frames.

I'm definitely hoping kayaba is going to be a big factor in the overall Sword Art Online world more so then he has I definitely feel the anime has indicated he is actually a good guy there's definitely more to the story hopefully they do bring light to that but as our main character said I hope that's not his ending as well

once I figure out blender and get a team of animators together I really want to take a crack and a vr mmo type of story, the hardest part is I know I want the real world to be actually filmed live action and the game to look like a game but I don't know what kind of art style to go for, thinking just do anime avatars but don't know yet what do you think person reading this

Well friend the only thing that I can add to this review of Sword Art Online alicization is that this mobile game called Sword Art online memory defrag seems to be incorporating some of the characters from the anime and a few of the story plots into it but not too much as to spoil the upcoming contents if you're interested look it up on Google Play you may like it

I would have edited it differently, but...I am not unhappy with the way it has been done. So far. A glitch in Episode 6 is pretty glaring, and it would have been much more dramatic to leave it as written...{!-{>

I only feel bad with the fact that they had to cut out some moments of Kirito showing his true nature of being playful and outgoing... I just felt that it was very essential because in the novels it was mentioned that it was Kirito's nature that led to Alice becoming ..... You know. And his personality is what affected them. So yeah, I felt like it was a bad thing that they omitted it out.

judging by the Opening, The first 13 EP end with Kirito and Eugeo Meeting the brown hair girl with staff in the opening. that probably happen in EP12-13.
and that's the last part of Volume 11, that mean they making 3 volume per 13 ep. plus we are half way to Volume 9 atm, so yeh volume 9 should end at EP4.

i bought the LN in the Kindle tho, up to volume 13, i think 14 is released recently, the Fan translation for 14 to 17 is out. but not 18 yet.
I didn't bother with main SAO manga, but buying all the Progressive Manga, really well made, art and story is great

I m asking cuz if the manga is at least somewhat near the present light novel in terms of story, and if it is a good adaptation, then I would start with the manga instead of light novel... And from the pictures Foxen showed, the manga seems pretty authentic....
@Aron, There is something called Sword Art Online Progressive, or SAOP for short.
It's all the Side stories that SAO author had written and did not include in Main novel + more story he newly write.
it's Basically Aincrad Story ! the Story of Death game from level 1 Kirito Floor by floor.
It got it's own Manga series named SAO Progressive, The Art is much better than original SAO manga.
I bought them all in Kindle android app and prepurchased new ones :D
The Alicization is in Main SAO Novel ! The manga only cover first Volume, so it's only up to EP 3-4 of Anime.
If you wanna read Alicization, you have to Read the Novel ! I buy them in Kindle as well.
Alicization is HUGE and Awesome, it's Volume 9 to 18, and Volume 19-20 are Alicization Side story !
So total of 12 Volume. anime will always have to cut a bunch of it sadly.
