The vast majority of young men voted for Milei(the right), while the majority of young women voted for massa (the left) this is a global thing, the gap will continue to grow alongside the animosity towards the other side, it's a spiral that I think will create a lot of tension, instability and further hatred in society

Further, if women get the so-called 'final say' on reporoduction they shouldn't get a vote involving anything to do with the military as that's not their responsibility (no mandatory draft).

During the a movement against sexual violence following cases of it in our Parliament, schools across the country including mine were forcing boys to stand up at assemblies and apologise to women for sexual assault on behalf of our gender. Most men in our country, including myself, would NEVER even think of doing such to women. This villainisation by some in the education system of all men due to a minority of men, has led to men choosing paths that are more radical and more rebellious to that of where other parts of society are moving. This is a global phenomenon.

Anecdote: Ive noticed that when modern young women find out I own guns and go hunting, they near unanimously act like im either insane or theyre in a state of stuttering shock because they literally have never met anyone in their lives who has those hobbies. But when I observe my Dad talking about it with women in my Moms Gen or Grandmas Gen they are usually just like "ok have a fun trip hope you bag that 6 pointer this year"!
Im 30 and straddle the line between Millennial and Gen Z so ive grown up watching these changes. And im not even some stereotypical macho dude and I live in a fairly liberal area of the US, maybe that juxtaposition isnt helping. But I think modern women have created an echo chamber through a combo of only associating with certain groups and social media that has snowballed and isolated themselves from a large chunk of happenings in the real world. When something outside of the ordinary establishment breaks through to them theyre blindsided.

    • @MovieDogg50
      @MovieDogg50 Месяц назад +9

I actually agree with this. People always associate actions and pattern recognition with certain political parties. But this is also true on the other side. People on the right associate liberals as socialists just because of the radical leftists online. Most liberals believe in capitalism, but they subscribe more to Keynesian economics as opposed to pure free market.
There is also an echo chamber on the right too. The main problem is that a lot of fascist and fascist-adjacent (Confederates Sympathizers, Christian Nationalist) people's agenda is facilitated with the Republican Party. The echo chamber on the right that says that Democrats are trying to destroy our country and that Trump is not a tra*tor oR *apist, and that democrats want to destroy our country when Donald Trump said, I quote, "A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution,” despite the fact that there was no widespread fraud (a very small amount of cases won't change the election results). Even with situations like Gore vs Bush, Gore still conceded. You don't try to overthrow democracy or our constitution because you didn't get your way.
Another issue is that this echo chamber will likely hurt way more people. They want to say that slavery was good for the slaves, that gay people should not be normalized, and trans kids should not be treated which others those groups by saying stuff like "black people are entitled, we the white people civilized them by making them slaves, how dare they fight against police brutality" or "the trans ideology is brainwashing your kids." And these people want to brainwash kids into being nationalists who aren't critical of the country's often time horrifying history and that bibles needing to be taught in schools to "fight" "moral decay." Now I don't want people to not be patriotic or anything, I am personally really proud to be an American as we have achieved so much and have caused a lot of good, but our country also has problems. In fact, I really hate that the Union during the Civil War is demonized because the narrative in the South is that it was the "War of Northern Aggression" just because we had military bases in the south. There is also the fact that since we were a democracy, slavery took way too long to outlaw compared to a place like Britain which abolished it quicker.

This exactly social media is ruining this country and quite honestly, the whole of the developed world. Social media and more specifically social media algorithms only show you content that you are interested in. It filters people into their own echo chambers and this is bad no matter what but when you have an entire generation that grows up isolated from the real world only hearing and talking to people that agree with them they have no idea how to handle conflict nor bring about conflict resolution and so when they inevitably find themselves in disagreement with someone in the real world they shut down and result to insults and or avoiding the person. Social media has reverted us as a society to a very tribalistic us vs them, my team vs your team, with us or against us mindset.

@@MovieDogg50 You framing fascism as a right wing issue is incorrect. Ironically, fascism is much more prevalent on the left wing of the political spectrum. Antifa, ironically is a very fascist organization as they attack people, and use violence and intimidation as a political tool much like the fascists in Italy did in the 1920s, and the National Socialists did in the 1930s. That is one example. Censorship like what was common under both fascist and communist regimes is also much more common under the current left-wing section of the government. From things like "hate-speech" which cannot be defined to the governments relationship to pushing for censorship on Twitter, and Facebook for political reasons.
Fascism and communism are very similar ideas. They are both however not right wing ideas. At least not in their entirety. The only thing that you could argue is that in National Socialism (Nazism), nationalism was obviously a central focus. This being opposed to Stalinism which was a form of communism in which did not promote strictly nationalism but more so international communism.
Antisemitism is not right wing or left wing. That should be incredibly clear today. As many on the left-wing hate Jews, or at the very minimum hate the Jewish state of Israel and wish for its destruction in a lot of cases. Also the left wing is largely unwilling to stand up to antisemitism. As it is coming from a pro-Islam direction.
Equating christian-nationalists, and confederate sympathizers to fascists is misleading and wrong. Fascists fought for a powerful government that decided what truth was, and suppressed descent. They fought for a government that took control of the industries, the economy, and the schools.
I dare you to find people on the right wing that would like the government to wield that kind of power. You will not find that. You will find more people that want that from the other side of the isle.
Now to your other argument, Europeans did not make slaves out of any people from Africa. Europeans went to Africa and bought slaves from Africans that had enslaved other Africans. The idea that this helped current day American blacks is that, by their ancestors being slaves in America, that they (the descendants) get the privilege of being in America and not being slaves, as opposed to being in Africa, and possibly even being a slave there still. Police brutality is a real thing. Police presence is absolutely necessary, and especially so in areas that have high black populations. This is a statistical reality. Black persons represent about 13% of the population yet commit about 51% of the murders. That is a very high representation. It is even more so when you break it up by gender and age. There is no exact percentage, but if you were to have a number for black males between the ages of 15 and 30 I would guess that would be about 6% of the population (safely), yet they commit 51% of the murders. This is why police tend to treat this group with suspicion. Most of the violence is black on black crime. So one could argue this police presence hurts blacks, or it helps them. Personally, I would just like everyone to not be murdered. I would trust a policeman more than I would a ghetto thug gangster, because the policeman has to answer to someone.

The men vs women debate is so dumb. This comment section is filled with women saying that men are the issue, men saying women are the issue (mostly the latter) and any inbetween. Some comments that at first glance seem dumb but actually make sense are ones that claim that women are more vulnerable to manipulation when times are bad (2020-2024). And while these come off as insanely red pill, they aren’t. Like take for example, a fatherless or motherless child. A motherless child will be more stoic, less emotion, and harder to take to in times of need, only thinking of logic, which has its advantages and disadvantages which people need to understand. A fatherless child will be more sensitive, and take things much more seriously, but will be way more emotionally intelligent, but more vulnerable. Both are not good, and this perfectly highlights why we need both men and women. Imagine a society where your feelings would be shunned, and you can’t really let out your emotion. And imagine a society where you can’t say anything that somebody would find remotely bad. But we have the in between, because we have both sides.
Way too many women ignore the advantages of having men, and many more men ignore the advantages of having women. This debate is so stupid, why can’t people realize we are both extremely important in everything, of course ignoring that people need to be born, yknow.

Towards the middle of the century, living conditions were rapidly improving and the middle class swelled in the aftermath of WW2. Taxation was high, but the spoils of economic growth enjoyed by more people. That doesn’t correlate.
There are other causes for our current predicament. The ‘Starve the Beast’ and ‘Two Santa’s’ strategies, both engaged by Republicans for decades to substantiate critiques of big government, have deliberately swelled the deficit and kneecapped governmental efficiency in exchange for having a popular issue to run on. Prior to that, Republicans had a much harder time getting elected.
You can trace much of present-day political corruption to the Citizens United ruling. There was a time when dark money was illegal, and wealth didn’t equate to power nearly as much as it did today.
Homelessness is worsened, again, due to deregulation and the gutting of Great Society programs. There is also car-centric zoning regulations, which Republicans decided that they liked. Those regulations prevent housing development in dense, high demand areas. There are also rent price-fixing algorithms where thousands of landlords collaborate, which would not exist if we didn’t permit that kind of cheating in the economy. All of those factors have caused housing to become unaffordable. Plus the belief that housing should be an appreciating asset, which then makes the majority of voters (homeowners) vote in favor of inflating the housing cost.

By 25 I was a conservative Conservative, as I was attempting to conserve the true tenets of modern liberalism, and not fall for a terrible orthodoxy that is indoctrinating our youths into anti-humanist (though their language is utopian,) postmodernist, deconstructionist, and-critically, collectivist thought. This has been a longstanding issue, of course, well predating both of our soirées into conservative ideology, and goes back at least fifty years or more, but the Internet is becoming a great tool to realign college-aged young adults into less mainstream media, which despite running the risk of algorithmic determination, or worse echo chamberization, has ultimately broken the state-arrayed media's (see Twitter files or Canada's CTV's recent controversy) stranglehold on information dissemination. Whether that leads someone down a conservative rabbithole or otherwise, is of no concern to me. What concerns me is people have access to the truth and the Left had become obsessed with telling lies, inhabiting virtually every criticism they had levelled at the Right for years, and so I jumped ship, and here's the biggest issue... the moderate American Left (being the staple,) and by extension the rest of the Anglosphere's moderates on the left, which politically are downstream due to a variety of post-WWII factors that I'm not getting into here, but I digress... The moderate American Left completely evaporated seemingly overnight in November of 2016 after Donald J. Trump was elected the 45th president of the United States. The moderates crept into the shadows, ceding every possible position to the radicals on their side, without even a fight! The gates were opened, as Trump was such a villain he required special resistance, that it seemed leftists had collectively decided, through some telepathic communion, perhaps, that it was time to kick their great utopian project into overdrive, and of course, be "unburdened by what has been." Over the next few months, what were once bulwarks of liberal ideology-freedom of speech, the scientific method, freaking comedy for God's sakes, human rights and even the general act of storytelling... more than I can name here, had all fallen prey to a brave new world of liberal orthodoxy, where a woman can no longer be defined, critical race theory has permeated every aspect of their productivity and relationships. The moderate left, which I can truly say I loved, and never strayed from to this day, had completely ameliorated in a conflagration of leftist fervour.
Neoliberals (not leftists, necessarily, mostly fiscal conservatives or greedy centrists) and corporatists seized upon the new, radical, "uplifting," "anti-racist," "postnational," etc., etc. reimagining of 21st century life in the West, infusing all sorts of capital into what effectively had become a brand symbolized by rainbow flags and feminism, and all of a sudden (though in truth, this had been years in the making)-optically, we had moved into a new era. Billboards, movies, commercials, children's books, video games, seals, flags, politicians... any sort of messaging in any polity that wasn't outright conservative or a Red state (Blue in Canada,) and indeed some that were, had become inexplicably postmodern and radical in their presentation. We had every so called woke trope and talking point hammered down our throats from what seemed like every direction, even to the point that people started to ask the infernal question; "What is a woman?" and then others would answer, "There is no such thing, anymore..." and furthermore, "it's all about how you feel."
This trend has continued until now, eight years later (with forty years preamble,) and has done enormous damage to not only our education/political/judiciary/executive systems, but also our integrity as a society, by tearing at the seams of the traditional mechanisms of our respective cultures, and polarizing our populations into logical conservatives and emotional liberals. At least now people are catching on to how much capital is behind some of these movements, and what the motivations of those patrons and investors really are. Social engineering is a thing, and the Left used to be at the forefront of investigating the actions of the government whenever they meddled, but a great magic trick was played on them, and now they seem only concerned with falling in line with authoritarian policies, such as we see with compelled speech and failed COVID medical policies, that not only violated the Nuremberg Code of 1947, but also further violated at least two sections of our Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms (a document I've since realized is useless, as its legal precedence is always up for loose interpretation, unlike the US Constitution (though Americans also lost their rights in droves those years not so long ago.) Australia had some real bad stories come out of their draconian policies for example, but I'm sure any developed nation could give them a run for their money... and then there's CRT... well not much to say about that other than MLK Jr. already said it best:
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character."
Somehow Trump's presence was so powerfully motivating that MLK Jr.'s wisdom was merely litter to be tossed and forgotten by a now crestfallen American Left desperate to outdo the MAGA, gun-toting Nazis. And thus, 2016 had changed everything, even if it was all just there behind the veil waiting to be lifted. Trump's election just galvanized everyone, for better or worse. The hatred of him was so great on the Left, that they forgot themselves... Hell, even BBC, which ten years ago I may have even deemed respectable, was running state-sponsored dramas that directly accused Trump of destroying the world in a nuclear holocaust within the year. True story, sadly. Look it up (dude who played the Inspector in The Imitation Game is in it,) it is bizarre, unsettling and frankly hilarious at times. This level of propaganda was never unprecedented, but still damaging, especially considering how ubiquitous conservative-bashing and woke messaging was. Love or hate Trump, support or oppose, this is all way out of hand. Cults of personality or personal vendettas aside, we still all live together and need to work together, but I fear balkanization is around the corner for countries like the US and Canada if things don't change. People on both ends of the spectrum need to be willing to sit down at the campfire and share a brewski, but I fear the Left with their embrace of fantastical rhetoric and presuppositions has given into dangerous sophistry, and authoritarianism, and no longer is in a position to debate anything in the liberal democratic arena anymore. I could go on, but surely this is a proper rant... Anyhow... I'll just end with this... I still hold most of my old positions when I was still a "liberal," and I'm considered a Nazi, by today's leftism. Reagan said it best...
"I didn't leave the Left, the Left left me..."
TLDR: The moderate left has disappeared since 2016, and had been replaced by radical elements within their movement. This has pushed many former leftists into conservatism, such as myself. Collectivism, authoritarianism and radical ideology are a threat to liberal democracies, and their promise of individualism, freedom and rationalism, which are central aspects of any social contract between the state and their citizenry. The left in their current incarnation has become the avatar for postmodernist and deconstructionist thought, and as such presents a threat to a fair and free society, as their so called progressive ideology, is in truth regressive in its attempts to repeal freedom of speech, re-institutionalize "race" and redefine conclusions of the scientific method, among other machinations in an exceedingly long list.

The thing no one wants to talk about is the fact that the female points are what is mostly causing this large disparity not the male points. Identity politics have caused this, men simply don't care if she would be the first female president and women do. Its not hard to understand, from their perspective they see it as " For us to gain the rights we want and to truly solidify ourselves as a contender in the power struggle of politics we must show we can hold the highest office". Of course the problem has arose because most men see Harris as a weak candidate who would ruin the economy further. The male perspective seems to be " We will vote for whoever fixes the current largest issues with the country (Economy, foreign relations, and border control). Trump has shown he is capable of running a good economy and keeping other countries at bay while doing so. Harris seemed to have very little idea of what she wanted to do in terms of change, she mostly just relied on the fact that she was of color and a woman to try and gain votes, which of course would work well for the women who see this as a fight to gain power in a world where they used to have no power. The way I see it is, We should at some point have a female president certainly, but we should not vote someone based solely upon the fact that they fit certain gender or racial identies. We should vote based upon what change we want to see. Men voted mostly to fix the economy and war. The only real issue Harris took a large stance on was Abortion, which did win her some votes perhaps, but most people who truly have strong feelings toward this issue were already going to vote one way or the other. So she lost because she relied upon her identity politics and showed zero signs that she would run the country any differently than Biden. When asked what she would've done differently than Biden she very much so backed his every decision.

They will then proceed to justify it with wilful ignorance and standard issue bigotry to pretend they were/are the only people in the world with problems.
So yeah “women bad, men good” is an oversimplification, but generally holds true the minute you bother to hold them to standards. The situation is so beyond parody at this point we have self admitted misandrists being considered authorities on gender equality and anti sexism (justified by their wilful ignorance). I think a big part of guys being more republican and women more democrat is based on how each gender is raised.
Men are raised being told they aren’t worth anything until they make something of themselves and have a lot of responsibility/expectation for tbem to make something of themselves which forces them to look how politics will effect their future in the long term.
While most young women are generally just expected to maintain purity and femininity. So most of them focus on personal issue polices rather than a larger picture. It’s not usually until their late 20s to 30s that they start to pay attention to politics and realize on much the democrat polices hurt them. This more so happens to women when they have to get a job if they do have the privilege of having a man pay for their bills. (Again not all women are like this but it is a majority in their early 20s that fall under this category)
This isn’t anything against women it just usually guys have to wake up to reality sooner that women because of how they are raised and what is expected of them.

I am turning 20 in 5 days, I’m female, and I’ll be voting for Trump. All of my female friends, however, will be voting for Harris.
Here are some things that differ us:
    1. I was raised Catholic, and I am a practicing Christian
    2. My dad is still married to my mom and is an active part of my life
    3. I was raised by conservatives in a predominantly *liberal* area
Most of my friends are liberal (which is unavoidable, I live in a blue state) but they are not stupid. What they are is misinformed, and their priorities are skewed. I believe abortion to be a state’s rights issue-my problem with Roe v. Wade is that it’s unconstitutional, and I support it being overturned.
If I said that to my liberal girl friends (or the average liberal girl), I would get utterly torn apart. Abortion is a vote-winning issue, and for some reason, so many young women think it’s one of the most important facets of freedom.
Most women don’t understand that Roe v. Wade should’ve never passed anyway, since it was unconstitutional (passed on the basis of the vague 14th amendment and a woman’s “right to privacy”-the word “privacy” does not appear once in the Constitution) and think their rights are being infringed upon because of it being overturned.
I know one other girl my age, who has the 3 things listed in common with me, and she’ll also be voting for Trump.
The average woman is misinformed, miseducated, and confident in her errors. The average woman is not intellectually opposed enough, because those who oppose her are labeled as a bigot or incel.
I’ve had civil discourse with my friends on politics, they know I’m a conservative and who I’m voting for, so we try not to talk about it anymore. But I encourage the men watching this to CIVILLY challenge the women in their lives if the opportunity presents itself. And whatever you do, remain civil and do not insult, no matter if she insults you or not. You are not going to convince a woman (or man) of anything after calling her stupid, insulting someone will not bring them over to your side. Be the voice of reason and civility-and know that some people will never be convinced.
We are not finished. There is hope-we just have to talk, and more importantly, listen to each other.
The best thing a young conservative can do, man or woman, is be a force of civility and goodness, especially in an ever-decaying world. The goal is to wake people up and bring them closer to the truth, not to insult their ignorance and push them farther away from it.

It is quite ironic to claim that others are misinformed while being a practicing Christian. I personally, don't care about people's faiths, but it does baffle me that most do not understand that the Bible negates the existence of things we consider to be scientific facts and never bother to do any research on it. I am not educated on other religions, but I am very educated on Abrahamic ones in which the biblical timeline found in the Pentateuch has countlessly been disproven by the simplest things (for ex: sediments in our earth). The main focus of the conservative ideology is in it's name: To Conserve. But this ideology cherry picks at everything. For example: "Roe v. Wade should've never passed anyway". While you may believe that it shouldn't have been passed according to the constitution, you fail to realize that many other things fall under that category. A recent example: Presidential Immunity. The constitution itself was created to be interpreted in many different ways; keeping in mind the need for change in the future. There is no wrong way to interpret a broad list of rules until it specifically points something out. There is nothing in the constitution that prevents abortion. On the contrary, there is something in the constitution that prevents presidential immunity. The reason why many women agree that abortion is a facet of freedom is because there is no debate on how time consuming and financially costly raising a child can be, not even to mention the physical trauma a woman's body goes through during pregnancy. It also becomes emotionally exhausting, especially if you are a single mother. This doesn't even touch the surface on extreme situations where mothers can potentially lose their life or rupture their insides due to medical conditions or age. Or even if the child is a product of incest, where the child will be born to a life of mindless suffering thanks to their genetics. Perhaps your friends support abortion because they've seen the amount of trauma their own mother has gone through and they don't wish that experience on any woman. I have friends that are conservative/republican men that support abortion for this reason. They are financially well off and will vote red because a freer market and less taxes benefit them personally. Keep in mind: these tax benefits will hinder the poor. Morally, they agree it should be up to the woman if she decides to put her body through the bodily trauma and 18 years of caretaking or not. It is great that you have a present father in your life; so do I. I am grateful for that, and I hope for more children to be brought up in the same way. Unfortunately, this will not be the case if there are unwanted children being brought into the world, They will end up with single mothers or in abusive foster homes. I grew up Christian. I've read the Bible back to back over and over again. I suggest you do too.

I’m an ex-atheist, so it seems as if we’ve gone down opposite paths. I don’t plan on debating religion with you, the reason I mentioned it is because it gave me a moral foundation even when I was an atheist, and is relevant to my political views.
I don’t think abortion should be criminalized, but my main issue is with basing Roe v. Wade off of the 14th Amendment, and the supposed “right to privacy” that does not exist in the Constitution. I understand that federally banning abortion would be catastrophic, but my issue with Roe v. Wade isn’t even about abortion. If there is a way to have abortion federally enacted in accordance to the Constitution, I wouldn’t be against it.
But I just think there are so many pressing issues that are more important, and I’m not going to prioritize abortion being federally legalized as one of them, as it’s already legal in 22 states + D.C., and I’m worried about Kamala’s 25% tax on all unrealized capital gains. I’m worried if I’m gonna be able to support myself going into adulthood. I’m not going to vote solely based on abortion policy, and it’s not like Trump is looking to federally ban abortion. Also, I don’t even like Trump. For me, it’s less so “Trump needs to win” and more so “Harris needs to lose”, have a blessed day I wish you the best.

Seeing the political division between genders truly makes me think of how our values have changed. Specifically between being a mother and being an educated corporate worker.
Mathematically, if you push women into education; they will have fewer and fewer children and your birth rate will implode.
Eroding 18-24 of your fertility essentially means you'll be lucky to have 2 children needed for replacement. It typically takes any couple 2-3 years before they even attempt to conceive and on top of that fertility is falling off a cliff after 30. With the average conception taking 9 months.
Also, being removing from the dating pool at 18-24 means you will have to settle for a smaller pool of viable males. Thus leading to a higher likelihood of a mismatched relationship and financial problems.
An A+ woman can have any man she wants between 18-21. An A+ women has to compete against younger women at age 22-28. By 29-35 an A+ woman doesn't have very many options for A+ men, because women will ultimately date (same age + 5 years).

After reading a LOT of comments, here are my takeaways :-
    1) Over 90% of the comments here portray women as soemhow inferior and their choices as inferior. Most of these comments have male names.
    2) About rest of 7% comments are about guys explaining their experiences in schools, colleges, etc.
    3) The rest, ie, 3%, are opinions about why and how this divide was created, and what its consequences will be.
Lastly, my opinion, i am not an american but just follow american politics and that of a few other countries that interest me. If i were an american, i would have voted trump this time. However, i can totally understand why women may want to vote the other way. Most of the guys will never understand how it feels your rights to be withdrawn, just because you have an ability that is supposed to be a blessing for humankind. Instead, it has become a terror, most women in red states are terrified of even prispects of an unwanted pregnancy. Just imagine how it would feel if this laws restricted your rights. If there was a law that penalised men who caused unwanted pregnancy by permanently removing his balls, and thus his ability to reproduce. There could be any punishment for this and it would still fall short of what women have to suffer. Personally, i have not seen a single valid argument for abortion restrictions that can't be debunked. Either way the democrats don't really care about women either. It was under them that the conservative judges were appointed and were able to overturn. Either way i am happy that trump has won since his policies towards my country are very favourable. And his anti war stance is the need of the hour. But i think the guys who are mocking women here need to understand that you will not know untill its your rights which are taken away and you are forced to do something against your will.

I think it also helps that definitions have changed. "Conservative" implies different things now than it did 10 or 20 years ago. Most conservatives are now more in line to what liberals were a bit ago, socially speaking. Most conservatives aren't as sexist as they used to be, recent Gallup polls suggest a majority of self-reported Republican voters support same sex marriage (what the party itself does is separate), and more racial and sexual minorities are becoming conservative as well, leading to conservative politicians leaving race issues out of their campaigns. The main thing about conservatism that hasn't changed is economic policy. So you have a lot of men that 10 years ago would've considered themselves liberal because of their takes on social policy now falling into the conservative camp because new conservatives check those boxes now. I'm a gay man, and while I don't consider myself conservative (I trend more libertarian) I've seen more and more gay men, including younger gay men, question whether they really have to keep considering themselves left-leaning and some even calling themselves conservative, even though their views haven't really changed at all.
