Not being able to collect other tier sets really defeats the purpose of this for me since I'll have to run the same raid multiple times again anyway. Then it goes back to same old system of getting the shaman tier on my paladin and getting the paladin tier on my shaman and not being able to use any of it.
Literally this. Why is blizzard such a fucking braindead company, and why do morons think this is ok?
Right? Literally the only reason I tend to run older stuff is for tier sets. I get why they don't want to do it for Tokens, but Tokens aren't the problem usually, its the single drops that give me issues.
@@ThatFoxGirl The good news is that a lot of the tier set appearances do have non-tier versions that can be equipped by others. For instance, I looted some of the paladin tier set appearances on my death knight in Siege of Orgrimmar, because it was the non-tier version. Those should, in theory, but unlockable by any class now. What I don't know is if every part of the tier set appearance has a version that is non-tier set.
@@kevinflanagan2543 problem is they're usually recolors, and a lot of the ones I've personally been farming have been the Mythic versions from Legion, which I don't think have non-tier versions, since they have changes not in the Normal/Heroic models. My priest has run so many of those raids, and still is missing all their tier, but don't worry, it totally dropped on my Shaman!

the only thing thats missing from transmog is blizzard removing rings trinkets and necklaces from the loot pool of old raids
also the restriction on class restricted items seems stupid and arbitrary, why draw the line THERE when in a couple of years they are gonna go "oh yeah that wasnt a good choice, now all armor collected even tier sets will be account wide"
Not to mention removing artifact relics from the Legion raid loot pool
how about getting every possible loot when entering an instance without having to kill a single boss while we're at it? or fuck it, have the entire collection of armor in this game added instantly when creating your character, I think that's a reasonable thing to ask for! for fucks sake do people even want to play the game at all, fucking hell
God forbid actually earning the armour for the class you are when they are special. You want everything just handed to you as well?
@@electricwizard5747 I feel like you may be making this argument in bad faith. Rings, trinkets, necks and artifact relics are all effectively trash drops from raids at this point and only serve to contribute to bag bloat while farming old raids. Nobody is advocating for old sets to be handouts, we just want the loot tables to be pruned. Looting a boss and seeing all of the drops only to find out later that none of them are transmoggable pieces sucks, especially if it means you have to leave the instance to sell things so that you can loot the stuff that you are actually trying to collect.
@@OhNoTheFace if they specifically allready make it so that you get armor/weapon for other classes the specific class restriction doesnt make sense (neither does your argument btw) and as someone allready said no one is happy to see 40% trinkets as raid loot especially because vanilla up to bfa dont even sell for an amount thats worth looting them in the first place, gray AP items from legion sell for more gold then most trinkets pre bfa

Typical blizzard. Add something nice but caviat. Want class set entirely? Run it unknown amount of times with said class. Instead running it less times with many classes.
Whenever you get a piece of gear it should be unlock account wide , but you can only use it with the specific class. That way you can have an incentive of having drippy AF alt and also mitigates the feeling of "I've wasted 3 hours into this and I still don't get anything I want"
Also if someone gets loot I want a copy of the loot. Is awful doing dungeons or raid and feeling that everyone is getting new toys except you

they updated this, you can transfer the tier piece through the warband bank to your alt that can use it and unlock it :) kinda dumb its this way, but its something at least lol

And me, as a druid, I still can't mog cloth, even I can wear it. It's totally crazy. These changes would be useful like 10 years ago. They literally should give everyone everything. Even a fckin mage with plate, if somenone would like that. 2024 Blizz ehm... Microsoft :)
They really should add the warbound system and use it on all class specific legacy itens. That would be the perfect solution to avoid still needing to farm with many alts for specific tier sets

Agreed a lot of lovely changes but this feels just like the old toxic behaviour of you feel punish for doing x and y while just going around and doing what you want as the changes does but ye always baffle me with the random restrictions out of no where an perfect cake

How is not getting tier sets from other classes a fundamental cornerstone of this "feature". That IS the feature for me. What do I care about non-class items?! This is a MAJOR disappointment for me. I am honestly a bit shocked. What rationale is behind that? Tokens? OK, but no set items?!?!! I can only see Blizzard wanting you to farm all that shit with different toons to waste time. "Respect your time" my ass. I am very disappointed.
would be aids if u could just get every class tier on any character, its nice that if you see someone with some sort of class tier u know they got it on that character

@@_bm1tv Nope, it wouldn't be. You can already obtain class pieces from repeatedly running in and out of raids to kill the mobs in the hopes of the BoE versions. The only difference is that all of this is locked behind tedious restrictions, so while plate using classes can equip anything else of another armor type, they cannot transmog to that appearance because of these restrictions. The argument that keeps being used is purity for class fantasy yet cosmetic sets have already made that a mute point when plate using classes are now running around as Kirin Tor battlemages and cloth using classes are running around as Wardens. Make it make sense, lol.

Honestly, the ONE thing I want is just a "Hide Item Slot" in the appearance collection. Would make trying to come up with and edit mogs SO much easier!

they should really look into getting rid of the class restriction for transmog unlocks. it's literally the same issue they're resolving with the "any armor type unlock" they're implementing. there is no logical reason to keep it restricted

I don't think they're choosing to keep it restricted, in all the talk about it they've stated it as being the way it is and not as something they're choosing for a philosophical reason. There's presumably a technical problem with trying to have a class-locked appearance not be unlocked on that class and they'd rather just get this out 90% feature complete instead of waiting until they figure that out as well.

To your question if transmog counts retroactive from quests: This already is the case for nearly all quests. Once you logged into a character which completely a quest which gave multiple quest rewards you got all quest rewards as transmog. Valve has a database for each character where it says which characters has finished which quests (you can even use a ingame script to find out if you finished a specific quest). So what you talk about around the 6:30 mark is just an addition for newer quests which probably gave armor type specific rewards like the newer starting isle.
I’ve been hanging onto a Blessed Undead Slaying mail chest on my warrior, in hopes of one day being able to add it to my collection. Yay!

On live you can vendor grey items of a higher level than you can wear and get the appearance so nice to see it being added to greens+
Alright guys so, if you want Garrosh's shoulders? do the mythic/heroic fights on all your toons 60 plus, and if any non plate loots em, just bank, and when prepatch hits, you'll have em. Same with the Xavius shoulders, same with the Eternal Palace shoulders, tht 1h mace from tomb of sarg, make some gold, hoard some mog, and enjoy. Good luck everyone, ALSO If you have Rag's core, and wanna make Sulfuras, make it w/e class, same with thunderfury or Thoridal too

So next step will be abillity to use all armor types in your tmogs, and another to change colors by chosen pice of tmog
For example someone use plate shoulders from mythic nathria, mail necrolord chest and lather helmet from aberus with shoulder colours on all those items in tmog. That would be GOAT.

Bro the class restrictions is so dumb I have save bags of items because they were class items thinking they will also unlocked they need to get feedback and ch mange this the main reason we want this is for those items
I imagine the quest thing is retroactive - a while back they did something similar where it would unlock all items that you could choose *on that class* and that was retroactive, so this is probably just widening the scope.
Thing is, they CAN make the quest collection retroactive. They did it Day 1 when Transmog was released.
Honestly, this is insane.
But I can't help to feel cheated to have purged so much old xpac dungeons with so much different toons to get transmogs accross the board, while now we can just play whoever we want and get them.
The more they add quality of life things, the more I feel like I've waisted my time being a player for so long while I could just get to the same point in a few month now. (looking at how to unlock allied race for example. It was a fun ride at the time, but seriously I've worked my a** to get them while now they are almost free for everybody)
At this point they should also give us a full set of heilroom stuff for roleplayer to be able to fully dress however they want at any time because that's the last thi8ng that bother me about tmog
The point of games is to have fun. If you had fun then it wasn't a waste of time. You should want things to get better for new players so that the game thrives. Also these changes benefit you moving forward as well.
I figured as much with the class restricted sets. This is still a positive change. I collected a lot before things became restricted just leveling alts: warriors, dks etc to get transmog. But this is good for both new and veteran players to get mog appearances faster. When they started adding armor type restrictions that was a negative, likely to increase time spent in game collecting but this is a return to the opposite, which is still amazing to get.
Then those class restricted gear should only drop for the player of this class
Quests completion status is known in the backend so it should be easy to unlock q rewards retroactively. You can even check completion status with a command and the q id. This even works for classic quests. Was able to retroactively receive the q rewards from the old old (pre carrot on a stick) ghaz'rilla q this way.
6:07 - Did I see "Expeditionary Boots"? They aren't even obtainable at all now are they? The reward for that quest used to be gloves that were NOT part of the expeditionary sets. I'm really happy they made this change.

That doesn’t align with us not being able to collect tier sets for other classes. Literally defeats the purpose of this new feature if you have to run a raid over and over again on other classes.
7:50 Is this confirmed? Last news was that it does not count for items you have in your bag. So BoE items you can't equip don't count - as least that was my last info from like 2 weeks ago.

In the exact same boat with not wanting to run dungeons and raids... SO I am grinding reps and more lore master stuff and hopefully Blizz comes through with giving alternate appearances from completed quests!!
I've seen this from Blizzard countless times, they are always late on improvements and no matter how good the improvement, they never do it properly there are always stupid short-comings and half-assery and restrictions that are so unnecessary and a major buzzkill. Who will get harmed if I loot pala tier on my hunter? its only cosmetic just go all the way with these quality of life changes ffs, Fun game + low on Bullshit = Successful game.
I was super excited for this QOL change, but all the armour I would farm for alts is class specific (night hold sets) for example. Why blizzard... they'll only revert it in a few years like they did with legendary tmogs so whyyyyyy restirct it
When will we be able to tmog armor types into other armor types? It's not like you can tell a plate wearer at a glance anymore, why does it even matter?
Most plate wearers are just female belf pallies wearing as little armor as possible anyway, so yeah, why not just let plate wearers wear cloth mogs or something

Honestly biggest fix towards the class sets would be to enable Warbound until equipped for the sets.
To grab each appearance, even though a bigger step than needed.
But it would just be a better alternative for something super dumb.
I genuinely believe that there should be some sort of internal check system thing that sees if there’s a max level toon of a certain class under your account and if so you should be allowed to collect their tier set appearances regardless if you’re on that toon. Cuz you’re gonna presumably be collecting that tier set for that toon anyway, so why not allow your alts collect the appearances for them? It’s all going towards the same exact appearance collection pool, so who fucking cares what toon you actually get the drop on

The class restrictions point is stupid because you’re collecting the appearance, not the tier bonus. Also, if you can conceivably wear a piece of armor in game, you ought to be able to mog into it. It’s stupid that you can’t under an armor type tab.

Not a bug. You can already save higher level gear to your mog collection on Live as long as you have a way to bind it. Not something you'd see a lot of unless you have a second account to carry alts through old content, but since DF launch you can order BoP gear from the crafting system in Valdrakken and receive the appearance regardless of character level.
To the question of whether we'll get transmog from already completed quests - they have the technology. They did this back when they introduced collections (end of WoD?). You got the transmogs your character was eligible for from all previously completed quests. It also still happens with quests that make you choose between multiple pieces. The only difference here would be changing the character's eligibility and doing another pass through their quest history. Side note. My packrat nature has been vindicated once again and I will finally obtain the appearance for the Gates of AQ questline sword that I looted on my shaman back in Vanilla!
I've been saving up gear that I can't use (cloth, mail and plate) for years in my bank. I can't wait until they will add this feature!
Wait why are people questioning whether the quest reward transmogs will be retroactively added? Of course they are, they already have the tech. Did you guys forget that they already did this when transmog changed in Legion and you got given all quest rewards you could use?
New feature is absolutely awesome and a great change, I just hope they remove that class restriction. It kinda defeats the purpose for this feature because those are generally the main target items and it was implied at Blizzcon that we'd be able to get them.
I wish they would let us just transmog other armor types, like why can't my warrior transmog warlock armor that would allow players to really express the fantasy of their characters. It's makes no sense why we can't have that. Anduin is basically a priest in plate armor so there isn't even any lore reason for it or anything.

That seems like a really strange place to draw a line in the sand, especially considering that the only real restriction is pretty much applying exclusively to Pre-Ulduar gear. Please correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m fairly certain that from Ulduar and onwards there are lookalike items for every raid for the whole set
Three main changes I would _love_ to see for transmog:
1. DO NOT exclude Class locked gear such as tier sets from this. That is a HUGE pain point in an otherwise good change to the systems.
2. Separate transmog appearances from items, assign them to equipment slots instead. Basically, you'd choose appearance per slot as normal, but if you get an upgrade and swap it out, you won't have to mount up on your Yak to fix your character appearance.
2.5. This would also allow Legion Artifact style transmog, but using any appearance regardless of what you have equipped. Let casters mog a 1h + offhand even if they have a staff equipped, let HPal and Shaman mog any 2h even if they have a 1h + shield on. (would also allow mogging a shirt or tabard without having one equipped, for example)
3. Make transmog totally free. The inconsequential gold cost is entirely pointless. It may have been intended as some form of gold sink when transmog was first implemented way back, but now-a-days a couple hundred gold is nothing, and the gold cost is nothing but an occasional pain point for new players or fresh alts before you mail them some starter gold from your main.

@@christabelle__ The only feedback Blizz actually reads are bug reports, and ONLY when it relates to bugs with payment or the cash shop. They totally ignore everything else - official forums, the "feature suggestion" submissions, all social media (even on official Blizz accounts on Twitter and such).
so , if i have tusks of mannoroth on my rogue , i'll be able to finally use them on my plate characters ?
A lot of tier sets also have copycat pieces so you can still farm most of a set if not all from certain raid tiers. I.e. i got the throne of thunder achievement for a full set on a demon hunter.
This is big for me. I love doing tmog runs on my alt army.
The class specific restriction is a big bummer, feels like to collect 100% of any given legacy raid, you'll have to run about just as many times as you do now. At least it'll speed up dungeon collecting I guess, tho there's less interesting stuff from there usually.
These changes are really nice to see. I am a bit disappointed about tier sets and class specifics, but otherwise very excited to start collecting.
The class restriction pretty much takes the wind out of my excitement for this feature; I feel like legacy loot shouldn't be affected by it.
The main reason i was excited about the whole "being able to get the appearance of any class or armor type" thing was that i could finally get the legion transmogs without having to run in a million times a week
considering I have done over 18,000 unique quests, they better unlock all the appearances. It would be a nightmare to have to do them all over again.
With so many sets that goes across classes now, they should let up on having basic armour types be tied to a class. So if I want my warrior to transmorg into mail, I could do so (except specific class tier sets).
Man, so we're SURE it's possible to get the gear now (that our character CAN'T equip), then sell it after 11.0 hits to have it added to our collection?

This just created about 100 hours of content for me to do. I might as well run every raid and dungeon 10 time each! Also a gold making opportunity with selling anything while I do that.
Damn, the numbers in TWW... we'll need to get a stat squish mid-expansion or something, with the way Blizzard inflates stats through an expansion

regarding class restrictions on items, what about look-alike items? like, if i run a legacy raid on my mage and a boss drops a tier piece for, idk, priests, will i unlock the look-alike appearance? (thinking of specifically nighthold and emerald nightmare sets here)

I really hope I won't have to do loremaster all over again just to get those missing appearances. True, Id never care about certain armor types of classes that I never play so I wouldn't be doing it all over again if it wasnt account wide, but now when the option is there, the tempation to have it all is too strong
I've heard that the MoP CM portals will be account-wide in TWW, but what about the armor sets? Both the sets and portals are tied to the same achievement, so does that mean if we unlocked one class set ALL will be available?

1:47 ridiculous it took till now to make this happen, all those times I got ultra rare drops on the wrong characters that I couldn't collect because of this outrageous limitation. 2:34 of course I knew it was too good to be true, they can't give us anything without some sort of limitation can they?
Wish they'd get rid of personal loot off rares and certain rewards like cloaks off the Kyrian Arena final challenges [as it stands you need to 4 different characters of each role type to unlick them all]... so stupid.
Seriously sucks being unable to get a 1h STR mace or 1h AGI dagger, for example, off a rare because it'll never drop on my priest main...
The class Restrictions are awful
I have been running Molten core for 3 years on my warlock and the T1 helm never drops and the T2 rogue Pants never drops from Rags while on my rogue but has for other classes.
The Legacy system for Raids and dungeons need to be changed so that Mind control abilities and reduce damage by 99% Abilities that bosses use are disabled when soloing legacy content.
BFA raids are the worst for this, I would like to finish Uldir and Eternal Palace
Dude it's a real shame that blizzard has been doing so well on war within but classic random restriction to really set back the player base by removing the main reason why people want this feature in the first place and that is too collect other classes class sets on their main that way if they ever play those classes you already have them.
learning all Xmog appearances when choosing a quest reward has been in game for a while now. Nothing new. Can't remember if it was Shadowlands, or Dragonflight that started it.
I'm wondering how the new mog system with work with things like Taeshalach. It only drops for the characters that could wield 2 hand swords during Legion; Hunters, and the 3 strength classes. Evokers can also wield 2 hand swords but, according to wowhead, it wont drop for them even though the other legendary weapons got updated to drop for Evokers.
My question is that if I got all the old-school GrandeMarshall gear on my paladin when I got to 1800 will I be able to wear on my warrior even though I didn’t get the achievement on my warrior
