Since my car was built towards the end of 2006 it's almost 14 years now and I guess the LED''s in the tail lights just gave up!
So I set out to fix them, not replace them FIX them!
Since I couldn't find any information online about how to actually fix them I decided to cut them open and see what was inside.
Not knowing a great deal about LED''s and exactly how they work, I thought I'd go to the local electronics store Jaycar, now the guy at Jaycar knew exactly how the LED's worked and explained it to me and it was very simple to fix in the end and only cost about $5aud maybe even less.
I hope this video can held a lot more people to fix their taillights themselves or any other LED lights that might not be working properly anymore.
    Thanks for watching!!

If the outer tail lights aren’t working, it’s worth checking that the module is pushed in properly. So it’s not always blown leds

I fixed this on my BMW 2008 Cab. E93.
The housing on E93 is slightly different and thicker, but the print inside is the same, so from this video I could estmate the placement just fine.
I too cut the cobberlanes on the printboard and only used the board as a holder for the LED's.
You do not need 3mm LEDs, 5mm is very fine too.
At first I bought the 1500MCD, but they are NOT bright enough. Is HAS to be the 6800MCD, and if these are not available go UP in brightness, MCD6900 or MCD7000 even.
The metalfilm resister at 110ohm can be at a higher watt, I used a 2W, it was very fine.
I hope this additional info can help somebody else. Good luck with your project!

Thank you my friend, my x5 2021 car, the rear light on the fender and the rear light on the trunk are out of the circuit and sometimes it turns on, and most of the time, the reason , the water leaking from the small wall is a break, do I have to open the inside of the light , or is the problem, for example, the external fuse I have, please advise
