Hey guys, thank's for the tests! I think the methodology of measuring airflow is quite usefull and it's good to see you test a real world scenario with the radiator. I just wish for an additional data point, where you normalise all fans for either same airflow or same noise by reducing speed. I never run fans at full speed and I need to know, which fan is the quietest at a certain amount of cooling required! Also it would be nice to describe the noise quality (or just record the sound). I was very confused, that you praised the Corsair fans for quietness, after measuring them the loudest (yet not the most powerfull). That might be because they just sounded more pleasant? And by the way: The box said "Aigo", not "Agio"
PCooler fans are really good and even though I love my Corsair fans they are really loud if ran at medium to full speed...my PCooler fans are completely quiet even at full speed...
Hi guys, you have a serious calculation issue for the CFM. it should be AF = S * Pi * D^2 / 4, where S is the speed in m/s and D the diameter of the anemometer in meter. you'll get the airflow in m3/s. To get it in CFM, do CFM = AF * 60 /(0.0254*12)^3. All your numbers should be roughly 5 times lower. :)
@@Hellamoody absolutely. Connect the fan controller to a molex connector and simply use a wireless remote to change colors, speeds, modes etc etc. Super easy.

try to include at what RPM these fans are being tested at since if they were all tested in max rpm, well, I personally don't need 2000rpm spinning fan all the time. Although this might add more time to your testing, I'd suggest you guys test these fans at a couple of RPMs, say 1000, 1500, 2000, etc. then afterwards sees the noise and airflow from said fan at said RPM. Thank you, hope this helps, and keep up the good video, you folks are awesome

@@2GuysTek I've got some experience with RGB fans, currently running Noctuas, might get Phanteks Halos RGB stuff for them sometime, but i like them with yellow rubber things that reduce noise for now, had Balanced RGB Cooler Master ones before this, they move a lot less air and are not quiet. For all who didn't know the uphere fans called uphere rgb 123 because they're 120mm fans and they come in a pack of 3, there's also a uphere rgb 125 pack wich includes the same fans but comes with 5 instead of 3 fans
The Corsair QL fans are pretty new on the market and we have yet to test them. We actually just ordered a set to put through testing! We’ll have a review of them soon! Thanks for the comment!
I just install a five pack of the UpHere RGB fans ($34.99 Amazon) yesterday (March 20) in a Phanteks P350x case. They are much quieter than the mix of basic Coolermaster and Arctic F12 ( had them set to run about 700-900 RPMs) that I had and the airflow is much better for the noise level and actually dropped my Ryzen 5 2600 idle temps down from 34C to 30C. The UpHeres look great and there are lots of option with its remote. The downside it that they do not connect to a MB fan or MB RGB hub and they only spin at a constant 1100 RPMs. They have there own proprietary fan and RGB hub that connects to a (ugh) molex. They seem solidly built, but time will tell if they last.
This must be old. I even pulled out the packaging and have it in my hands as I type- Corsair LL120 now has a 2200 RPM maximum @ 36dBa, though I do see that your packaging says otherwise. I do have the White versions. I think I got them in late 2019 though so maybe the specs have changed since then? I do love these fans, other than the proprietary garbage.
Deepcool CF120s are also a great budget RGb fan. For 35 USD you get 3 fans, an RGB controller (not required if you mb has an RGB header), and a fan hub. in my opininion, they have a premium look with a low price.
I’d have to give it to Thermaltake because their fans have that look I personally like where the fans aren’t lit up all the way and also they still look good off if you don’t want to run the rgb.
Cooler Master ones are terrible, had them replaced them with Chromax Noctuas, Deepcool are not bad, just overpriced for that they give, but they do have similar performance to Thermaltake ones, just not as good RGB
Is it going to be a display piece as well? Lots of glass and RGB? You can’t beat Noctua NF-A12x25 or Gentle Typhoon for good quiet fans that don’t have RGB, they are on the expensive side though. If you want color and you don’t mind spending more go with Corsair LL120 fans, or if you want color and value, look to upHere RGB fans.
@@2GuysTek Thanks i was leaning towards performance since ill be doing a lot of rendering but its also going to be my daily driver so ill probably get the corsair LL120

Great question! The issue with CFM is that measurements are based on airflow through a certain diameter apparatus. We measured CFM through a 4” circular opening that ducts into our anemometer. The size of your opening effects your numbers and unfortunately we know nothing of the test setups each company used to measures their product’s CFM. We actually stopped providing CFM rating on subsequent videos because the numbers felt misleading and now only use m/s as wind speed is always wind speed. Thanks for the comment!
@@2GuysTek the CFM to me is moe important a metric because that tells you the volume of air a fan is expected to move per minute at maximum fan speed. Fan speeds won't tell you much at all because the size of the fan "80mmvs120m!vs140mmvs200mm.etc" will have a considerable impact, including the number of fan blades, then the fan design (grooved vs smooth etc). The CFM is a consideration of the final output of the fans regardless of other metrics. If you go by speed you have to do a lot of guessing on just how much air a fan is capable of delivering to the case. A 2000 rpm 120mm noctua will deliver similar or even less air than a 140mm noctua at 1400 rpm of the same model but if you go by fan speeds alone the buyer will be subject to much confusion.
@@vincentpatrick886 We really appreciate hearing what's important to you! We can certainly add CFM calculations back into the videos moving forward. Thanks so much for the reply!
GREAT Video! Debating between Thermaltake and Uphere >_< I want Uphere for the price (buying 3 120mm fans and 3 140mm rans) But Thermaltake seems to perform better. hmm..
@@Nobaris9961 Corsair LL Series LL120 RGB 120mm Dual Light Loop RGB LED PWM Fan Single Pack --24.99 on Amazon for a single fan. For a 3pack+controller, it's currently on sale for $102.99 on amazon.
Are your sure you tested allright Aigo CFM? Cause in your test you say Aigo DarkFlash DR12 has 147,3 CFM / 3 fans = 49,1 CFM/1 fan, but wen i look to the amazon link you posted for Aigo there it say ''and deliver an air flow of up to 20.34CFM ''? so it is 49 CFM like u say or 20,34 CFM like they say?
Hi Dan D - Great question! To calculate CFM, we used a formula that takes the m/s flow of the fan along with the diameter of the duct the air is pushed through, in our case ~89mm. We measured everything in m/s because CFM is subjective to the size of the duct, but we calculated it because many people want the CFM number. So in short, we felt that CFM wasn't an accurate representation of true airflow because it all depends on what's on the other side of the fan. Also, the result of 147CFM is for a single fan based on the m/s airflow. We really have no idea how Aigo measured their fans or where their numbers come from. Thanks for the comment!
I think you guys forgot to count the blades on that "six" blade asia horse fan. Anyways, liked and subbed. I've been looking for something like this for a couple weeks. Odd situation, but I'm actually looking for the best looking rgb fans from the back, and seeing them out of a full rig setup gave me a nice view. My desktop is on my desk to my left facing forward (only space there's room for it)so I can see through the acrylic side panel, and my eye level sits just above the top of the case. The only spot in my case where I would get a decent view of fans are the front ones but I need those for intake.
@@2GuysTek Np. You guys had a better point of view than we did. Which of those in your opinion looks the best from the back? I really like the corsair LL120's, but both of the rgb rings are kind of hard to see from behind. Do any of the light strips stretch the whole width of the fan?
@@robertlefeaux If you're looking for a little bling from the backside the UpHere's have the RGB diffuser in the front and the rear of the fans, so you see everything on both sides. If you have the money though, you can't go wrong with the Thermaltake fans, their RGB ring is in the middle and is visible from ether side of the fan too. Good luck!

Im getting the lls
GREAT Video! Debating between Thermaltake and Uphere >_< I want Uphere for the price (buying 3 120mm fans and 3 140mm rans) But Thermaltake seems to perform better. hmm..
Thank you! Are you going to do another one of these with 140 fans? Pretty please? 😀
This is a great idea! We'll add it to the list! Thank you for the suggestion!
i got my LL120's at 30 bucks each on amazon, good deal for a great fan

Running from RGB setup now is like running from John Wick.
You're never gonna get away from it!
Oops! I don't know how we missed that! The Asiahorse has **7** blades! Thank you for pointing that out and watching the video!
Good luck!
would've been nice if u guys included cm master argb fans too
