Always use the Euro sizings, I don't know if it's regulated but it's much more consistant than US sizing which seem to be decided by each brand randomly. Like me you are a 44 EU which translates to 10 in Adidas, 10.5 in Vans and I have even seen 11 sometimes... but for me, a 44 EU always is the right size no matter the brand or if it's skate shoes or cycling shoes or just shoes.
@@lexi-hx6je it was a joke calm down. ben is a sick skater and tells us good info on products. stop crying over people talking about mongo and posers. its a laugh its skateboarding. get use to it.
its not the shoe. its the skater. however, i think it would be a great series, if you did non-skate shoes like these. it would be cool to just have a pair of shoes that you can use for daily purposes, including skating...
If they're anything close to the 3st.004 Adidas skate shoes then they are definitely good. So far I wasn't able to get some Tyshawns on a sale though, so that's one that I'll have to try later.
@@PHeMoX Been a minute since I skated the. 004 but I would say they're in the same realm. Tyshawns are thicker and stiffer, both the uppers and the outsole so they take a while to break in, the tradeoff for that is that they probably are the most durable skate shoe I've ever tried. Slightly narrower fit too, might be because of the previously mentioned thickness.
Ben, the tip about crazy glue on your laces has been amazing. I was going through laces every couple of sessions. Now I'm getting close to the life of the shoe.
@@TheToxinator I just read my comment again and just realized I meant board feel not board control. It's very nice imo, the leather is really strong aswell! I skated my pair for almost a year before they fell apart lol
When the skate version came out a few years ago I was pumped and bought a couple pairs, by far my favorite shoes. The soles were so grippy and the shoe itself was so light and flexible straight out of the box. I WISH the brand with 3 stripes would re-issue them again in both the navy and green colorway. my school made us do PE with those... so I ended up skating in them. Not good, not bad. I skated just fine. But PE teacher got mad every time she saw a broken lace. never skated "the new ones"... the cupsole is different now, the shape reminds me of those XLK cupsoles great vid btw!!!!!
I got these with the straps no worry about laces and extra protection from the board smashing the top of your foot plus super easy on and off more skateshoes should be Velcro straps...
I'll never forget buying a pair of Stan Smith from "Zellers" for my Canadian Homies back in 92 for 11 bucks lol! That leather was so thick and stiff, barely even marked them😂😂
Hi Ben could you tell me that sweet spot at 2:45 ? Or if anyone else knows pls! I'm looking for a good skate spot as it will get rainy and cold soon ! Thank you! Love your channel Ben !
I'm 63 and used to wear Stan Smiths for tennis and all-around wear. My adult kids now wear Stan Smiths, and I've noticed that the leather uppers seem much cheaper grade of leather than the originals (from back in the mid-1970s). Your assessment of how easily the soles wear down is the same as my experience. You may have tried the Adidas Super Stars before? The soles seam to wear a bit better/longer than the Stan Smith, FYI.
Wanna thank you so much for inspiring me to start my own channel. Just did my first review and even though I know its bad I learned a lot. Going to keep working on it.
Its amazing to see how you've gained mass following now Ben! Awesome stuff and hoping one day I can meet up and skate with you. Remember watching your videos and seeing only yourself to that whole parking lot but its amazing to see so many more people skating!
@@ericperalta8949 Yeah i've got 3 pairs of them since then and the soles do break through fairly fast, the impact protection was good until the shoe breaks down but i would highly recommend if you can find a semi used pair for cheap because the break in process is a bitch
I got a pair of Mark Gonzales shiney graphical ones and couldn't skate them at all. Still wear them but they're stiff and won't break in. Got them at Kona and they got soaked in water retrieving my soaked board in the bowl. Kinda wish I never skated them. Ben could shred in ProWings if he had to!
When he said a bunch of skate shoes were modeled out of these, I immediately thought of the Leo Romero Leo II's. Did you guys think of any other shoes?
Hey Ben i love your vids i would Like to See a Video about cleaning bearings and different techniches like boiling, a toothbrush or using spiritus. I Really struggle with that because i can t afford new ones.
Yes the skate version has the fuzzy mustache on the tongue. You copped the super GR footlocker stan smiths rather than the adidas originals version with the thin tongue and real leather. I’ve owned 10+ pairs since the refresh
Hey, Ben! I’d like to make some shoe suggestions for future videos. I know you have an affinity for white shoes, so how about the DC Pure, DVS Enduro 125, or Enduro Heir? Or if you want to do another “non-skate shoe”, how about the Puma Suede Classic?
I'm surprised you liked these, since you hated skating in standard Superstars, which you compared to moon boots. The midsole/padding are about the same in those two--I've skated both many times. Have your shoe sensibilities changed since you skated standard Superstars?
I never understood how people heelflip with their toes hanging off the board like that. I always whiff when I try it, my normal heelflip position is same as kickflips
Hey. You live Van? That underground is near my house. Just bought a board after 17 years. We should meet up for a session. It’s Dave Bar from Victoria.
all insoles can be removable. some just suck more than others to remove (i.e. vans classics). i removed the sewn in insole on a pair of vans exp slip ons. that sucked, but much better with fp insoles.
I like your review of a non skate shoes, even if i never find those on my size. I used to skate Nike Dunk, the og version! In early 2000, for me they were better than a lot of « skate » shoes! Plus, i was able to find it for cheap!
Yo Stan's kick ass. I've skated three pairs from the ogs to the reissues, only Quam is just the price point. Otherwise great shoes they break in real nice 🧙🏽♂️
I forgot to mention that I find these run large. I wear a 10.5 in Nike and Vans but wear a 10 in these.
Most adidas shoes be a bit bigger though

can you do a review on Karma Wheel CO.? PLS
honestly his skating level can still get him sponsored in 2020

His ledge game 🔥
Easily. I think Ben deserves a guest pro board. He’s a major ripper.
Who here actually doesn't care about the shoe and just wants to see ben skate

i dont wanna see that guy skate, he skates like a Canadian poser lol.

you can use many shoes for everyday shit. i wear dunks day in day out, even to a interview i could wear dunks.
You can wear skate shoes for daily purpose too, you cant even tell the difference usually
I was on your channel yesterday seeing if you did a review for regular stan smiths. then today this happens. lets gooo!

My favorite lo top in early 90s. Even sprayed painted them black
