On Guyus, if I were in charge of the next Crash game or even a movie, I would make him the villain - An insane, deranged raptor who seeks to destroy and rewrite the world just to bring things back to the "good old days".
I don't think Guyus hates new Crash because he can't buy the game, he actually mentions that he finds it hard to socialise because his interests don't align with people his age, and I'd say that's probably what the issue for him is. Crash, for him, is something in the past and part of his childhood and seeing it modernised brings it into the modern world which he detests and feels like he doesn't belong in. Fun fact btw from listening to your debates, I'm pretty sure Guyus uses a voice modulator. The only part where he isn't using it is when he says "can you hear me now?" at the beginning of the second part.
You're right. Guyus treats the Ducktales reboot with the same vitriol as does with the newer Crash games, and he has access to the Disney channel. Guyus just hates change.

That could be the case but still. When the Titans games came out, I was probably the number #1 hater, I still bought the games and only finished titans, not mutant. I still hated it not because they were bad games but because the characters were completely unrecognizable. I wasn't the only one, there was many Crash fans who really did not like the new designs and we rated the trailer 1 star back on the old youtube. I recently went back to replay them and when I heard Tiny I cringed so... my opinion is still the same, decent games but awful design choices. This to say that, sometimes modern does not mean better. Team Rumble is another horrible mess but the N.Sane Trilogy, CTRNF and Crash 4 are all pretty good.
He reminds me of the ND Crash purists in 2000s and early 2010s. It’s interesting the sentiment has shifted a lot over the years since his type was pretty common. It’s like he got stuck in a time loop. It’s weird his criticisms would have been agreed with before Crash had a revival.
Tbf Activision still fucking sucks and it's was more of a miracle and fluke that Crash 4 turned out well, especially since Vicarious Visions wasn't involved
Not really sure on that given ND purists seemed to be satisfied with the Activision games [given all of them were remakes and the one original mainline game so far was pretty faithful to the originals]. Even nowadays the stuff in-between is generally debated [though if you ask me Twinsanity basically succeeded at making a modernized next-gen formula for Crash that struck the right balance between keeping the series' identity while updating it for the next gen and the fact that they just didn't build off of that was debatably even more of a missed opportunity than the cut content in the game itself]

Obviously most major franchises in any medium tend to have these kinds of clashes, but it feels like Crash and Looney Tunes have a particularly huge contrast between the different creative teams that have worked on both over the years each pouring love and respect for each series into the installments they make and how often higher-ups tend to screw them over by only thinking about the business side of things
This 30 year old man and RH are the prime example of what NOT to do when making a fangame. Fangames are supposed to be about passion. Creating something to pay tribute to the franchise regardless of what you think of some of the official games. Creating games like this in a desperate attempt to take the fans' attention away from the official products because of how much he hates the modern games, as well as adding malware to remove two games he hates (which I'm pretty sure is illegal), only proves to me that RH could never, nor will it ever be the "Sonic Mania" of Crash Bandicoot.
Personally I think the guy had this project on his PC for a long time before the NS trilogy was announced so he wanted to be THE guy who revived crash bandicoot so when the NSane game come out and he couldn't take that tittle he become mad about it
That makes a ton of sense to me. It's like another game dev I've seen who tried to make a RPG with a retro 2D/3D hybrid style and then Octopath came out people said, hey isn't that the style you were going for, and he was annoyed about it for a while too
I was unfortunate enough to be in a Discord server with Guyus about 2 years ago. He’s always been VERY mentally unstable and 100% genuine with his views. I remember trying to give him some advice on how to make his game look less like a cheap unity asset flip. Looking at the footage here, it seems like he actively ignored my advice. lol Anyways, he ended up getting booted from that same server after getting mad about Netflix movie adaptations, calling someone mentally ill and eventually saying they should kill themself. Even before he got booted he was always whinging about the current state of Crash and Ducktales, always on thin ice. It’s funny since it’s been 2 years since I’ve actually interacted with him, I see people still talking about him from time to time without having to even actively look for it. That’s how I came across this video actually!

The most bizarre part, is that I once went into the crash subreddit to ask questions about getting the platinum for crash 1 in the n.sane trilogy, and THIS GUY, who was never EVEN MENTIONED IN THE CONVERSATION, DM'D ME TO HARASS ME OVER IT!
I was in the discord group when this game was starting out production. Guyus was the admin of the group. I was never active in the group but the guy kept messaging me and I ignored most of it. Eventually it got annoying so I just left the server and removed Guyus. I remember seeing a lot of hate for Crash 4 and anything new Crash related, like the N. sane trilogy. Never knew he'd go to such lengths as getting rid of the games from your computer with this. Seems like I dodged a bullet.
I hope Retro Hijinx has a part at the end where Crash says "Prepare for some Retro Hijinx",it would be more impactful than "Consider this your bad omen" and "It's Morbin Time".

if someone doesn’t like the newer names and/or doesn’t want to play them, that’s perfectly fine. But in Guyus case, he has way too much of an obsession hating the newer ones, to the point of calling people the hard R for disagreeing and do several other things that were shown in the video. After all this, I’m really just hoping Guyus can get some therapy, because whatever happened in the past messed him up extremely badly in the head.

I would love to see that too. The guy is clearly talented! He just is mentally unstable. And many people (including myself) have tried making peace with him. But he has proven time after time that he doesn't want peace. I normally don't like making assumptions off people (especially on the internet) but I'm genuinely believe he thrives off drama that's why he makes as many callout posts as he does.

It'd be one thing if he simply couldn't keep up with the new stuff for one reason or another. It's even fair if it doesn't appeal to you. Say what you will of Sonic Omens, but I never heard of it deleting Sonic Forces or Sonic Generations or anything like that off of harddrives.

you're right about one thing, he doesn't own the IP at all, Activision does they've owned it since 2008 because Universal Interactive / Vivendi Games / Sierra Entertainment nearly killed the franchise, how do I know because I read the archives, Activision kept their promise to Naughty Dog to bring Crash back from the ground up in 4 remakes and follow up to the direct sequel Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, but retro hijinx on the other hand it's not saving the crash franchise, the community or the fandom, it's destroying it, I've played the N. Sane Trilogy, Nitro Fueled and It's About Time along with Team Rumble too, I love them and I think they're very excellent games so retro hijinx is going to suck and it already has.

I'm glad I wasn't aware of this game, so I should consider this video as a warning on being wary of fan games like this, before it's too late. Though to be honest, I don't like Activision for what they represent in the modern age. But I will say compared to this, their mainline Crash games look much more enjoyable, much more faithful to the source material, aren't littered with creepypasta content and most importantly, are much less likely to damage my computer!
If I could, I would get a copy of the game and remove the malware, so people could play the game and shit on it for how god awful it is. Either that, or just remake the game from the ground up to be an actually passionate fan game & not be a hate project.

As someone who has modded her 3DS, NES, SNES & Genesis Mini consoles and have played emulated games by using roms of half the games I play downloaded off the internet, I will say this: If Guyus ABSOLUTELY refuses to give Activision his money and he’s never played the Activision-Era Crash games bc he doesn’t own them, would the thought ever run through his mind to just PIRATE N. Sane Trilogy & Crash 4 so he could play them?
Unfortunately, Guyus doesn't have a decent enough PC to run those games. Also, he genuinely believes that playing N. Sane Trilogy or Crash 4 could lead to mental disorders. So, pirating those games is something he would never do.
Someone I know I'm online warned me all about this no gooder. If I was to download a game, I'd rather download one that spams decoy notifications annoyingly, than one that would fatally cripple my PC with malware.

I don't think Guyus hates new Crash because he can't buy the game, he actually mentions that he finds it hard to socialise because his interests don't align with people his age, and I'd say that's probably what the issue for him is. Crash, for him, is something in the past and part of his childhood and seeing it modernised brings it into the modern world which he detests and feels like he doesn't belong in.
Fun fact btw from listening to your debates, I'm pretty sure Guyus uses a voice modulator. The only part where he isn't using it is when he says "can you hear me now?" at the beginning of the second part.

When the Titans games came out, I was probably the number #1 hater, I still bought the games and only finished titans, not mutant. I still hated it not because they were bad games but because the characters were completely unrecognizable. I wasn't the only one, there was many Crash fans who really did not like the new designs and we rated the trailer 1 star back on the old youtube.
I recently went back to replay them and when I heard Tiny I cringed so... my opinion is still the same, decent games but awful design choices.
This to say that, sometimes modern does not mean better. Team Rumble is another horrible mess but the N.Sane Trilogy, CTRNF and Crash 4 are all pretty good.
He reminds me of the ND Crash purists in 2000s and early 2010s. It’s interesting the sentiment has shifted a lot over the years since his type was pretty common. It’s like he got stuck in a time loop. It’s weird his criticisms would have been agreed with before Crash had a revival.
Tbf Activision still fucking sucks and it's was more of a miracle and fluke that Crash 4 turned out well, especially since Vicarious Visions wasn't involved
Not really sure on that given ND purists seemed to be satisfied with the Activision games [given all of them were remakes and the one original mainline game so far was pretty faithful to the originals]. Even nowadays the stuff in-between is generally debated [though if you ask me Twinsanity basically succeeded at making a modernized next-gen formula for Crash that struck the right balance between keeping the series' identity while updating it for the next gen and the fact that they just didn't build off of that was debatably even more of a missed opportunity than the cut content in the game itself]

Obviously most major franchises in any medium tend to have these kinds of clashes, but it feels like Crash and Looney Tunes have a particularly huge contrast between the different creative teams that have worked on both over the years each pouring love and respect for each series into the installments they make and how often higher-ups tend to screw them over by only thinking about the business side of things
This 30 year old man and RH are the prime example of what NOT to do when making a fangame. Fangames are supposed to be about passion. Creating something to pay tribute to the franchise regardless of what you think of some of the official games. Creating games like this in a desperate attempt to take the fans' attention away from the official products because of how much he hates the modern games, as well as adding malware to remove two games he hates (which I'm pretty sure is illegal), only proves to me that RH could never, nor will it ever be the "Sonic Mania" of Crash Bandicoot.
Adding malware is a serious cybercrime. It results in big fines and possible jail time.

I was unfortunate enough to be in a Discord server with Guyus about 2 years ago. He’s always been VERY mentally unstable and 100% genuine with his views.
I remember trying to give him some advice on how to make his game look less like a cheap unity asset flip. Looking at the footage here, it seems like he actively ignored my advice. lol
Anyways, he ended up getting booted from that same server after getting mad about Netflix movie adaptations, calling someone mentally ill and eventually saying they should kill themself. Even before he got booted he was always whinging about the current state of Crash and Ducktales, always on thin ice.

I was in the discord group when this game was starting out production. Guyus was the admin of the group. I was never active in the group but the guy kept messaging me and I ignored most of it. Eventually it got annoying so I just left the server and removed Guyus. I remember seeing a lot of hate for Crash 4 and anything new Crash related, like the N. sane trilogy. Never knew he'd go to such lengths as getting rid of the games from your computer with this. Seems like I dodged a bullet.
I hope Retro Hijinx has a part at the end where Crash says "Prepare for some Retro Hijinx",it would be more impactful than "Consider this your bad omen" and "It's Morbin Time".

But in Guyus case, he has way too much of an obsession hating the newer ones, to the point of calling people the hard R for disagreeing and do several other things that were shown in the video. After all this, I’m really just hoping Guyus can get some therapy, because whatever happened in the past messed him up extremely badly in the head.

you're right about one thing, he doesn't own the IP at all, Activision does they've owned it since 2008 because Universal Interactive / Vivendi Games / Sierra Entertainment nearly killed the franchise, how do I know because I read the archives, Activision kept their promise to Naughty Dog to bring Crash back from the ground up in 4 remakes and follow up to the direct sequel Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, but retro hijinx on the other hand it's not saving the crash franchise, the community or the fandom, it's destroying it, I've played the N. Sane Trilogy, Nitro Fueled and It's About Time along with Team Rumble too, I love them and I think they're very excellent games so retro hijinx is going to suck and it already has.

I'm glad I wasn't aware of this game, so I should consider this video as a warning on being wary of fan games like this, before it's too late.
Though to be honest, I don't like Activision for what they represent in the modern age. But I will say compared to this, their mainline Crash games look much more enjoyable, much more faithful to the source material, aren't littered with creepypasta content and most importantly, are much less likely to damage my computer!

If I could, I would get a copy of the game and remove the malware, so people could play the game and shit on it for how god awful it is.
Either that, or just remake the game from the ground up to be an actually passionate fan game & not be a hate project.
I agree with you, Remake from different developer would really help Retro Hijinx. It has its potentional - which is butchered by Guyus...And ideas like Crash in Savanna or in Mexican Era sounds interesting but he butchered it...
I love to see a remake, Guyus seriously broke the immersion so badly.

I know what you're talking about, and that channel doesn't belong to Guyus. Someone who was in a Crash server that Guyus used to be a part of, made that channel to troll Guyus.

@@kazeta01 Yeah, some of tracks are actually in the game, but the channel's not his. It's still up because it makes Guyus mad. Also, some of the tracks are named after characters who aren't even going to appear in his fangame, and the Crash 4 track that Guyus unknowingly included, isn't part of that soundtrack.
As someone who has modded her 3DS, NES, SNES & Genesis Mini consoles and have played emulated games by using roms of half the games I play downloaded off the internet, I will say this:
If Guyus ABSOLUTELY refuses to give Activision his money and he’s never played the Activision-Era Crash games bc he doesn’t own them, would the thought ever run through his mind to just PIRATE N. Sane Trilogy & Crash 4 so he could play them?
Unfortunately, Guyus doesn't have a decent enough PC to run those games. Also, he genuinely believes that playing N. Sane Trilogy or Crash 4 could lead to mental disorders. So, pirating those games is something he would never do.

Also, now that I'm thinking about Guyus' toxicities online, I've seen him attacking and harassing others on DeviantArt which those violates DeviantArt's policy.
And now knowing that he hasn't played the Activision Crash games and hates them, that does not give him a right to attack people, who enjoys the Activision Crash games, with those hate-filled harassment posts on both DeviantArt and RUclips.
Plus, I played the Activision Crash games (both the N. Sane Trilogy and Crash 4) and they're still playable and I have enjoyed playing Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled, since I'm fun with Spyro, Crash, Coco and Tawna as my mains.
So yeah, I actually liked the Activision Crash games such as Crash N. Sane Trilogy, Crash Team Racing: Nitro Fuelled and Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, but is it a bad thing? No. But dose this give Guyus the right to harass me? Again, the answer is no.
Like I said before, even I liked the Activision Crash games, I still liked the Naughty Dog Crash games to this day, just like I liked both the Modern Sonic games and the Classic Sonic games (even despite there're few rare exceptions, regardless of their qualities).
Guyus the Raptor is NOT saving the Crash Bandicoot franchise, he's actually ruining the series with his crappy game called Crash Bandicoot: Retro Hijinx and if you want a better Crash Bandicoot fangame with PS1-style graphics and gameplay, play and support Crash Bandicoot: Back in Time. Never play Retro Hijinx, instead avoid Retro Hijinx.

Guyus should've just focused on his stupid game getting finished already, minus the hatred vibe, it really broke that 'geniune' immersion that he wanted to implement so badly. Glad I never played Retro Hijinx once, a textbook example of "how to not make a fangame", not to mention, shovelware levels of bad.
