1:02 that’s my mom, dad, and aunt in the background drinking coffee!!! i don’t remember the whole story but i remember them leaving to go to chicago for the weekend to see nofx and somehow they met fat mike and the band outside of the venue (my dad always managed to get to hangout with cool punk rock bands he did the same with the vandals back in the 90s) and years later my dad showed me this video and i randomly remembered it today…
another fun story ab my dad, he went to a vandals concert in 2001 right after 9/11 and chatted it up with the bassist before the show and when the show started they let my dad up on stage to sing one of the songs from the Hitler bad album i believe, anyways that concert was in ATL and my dad was living in northern mississippi at the time so they drove back home after the concert and some of my dads friends who were supposed to be at that concert with them that for some reason couldn’t make were really upset they didn’t get to see them so they found out that same night after the concert that the vandals would be in new orleans the next day so literally not even 24 hrs later my dad and his friends drove down to nola and my dad, again, spotted the bassist and came up to him and the bassist absolutely lost his mind when my dad came up, he must’ve thought my dad was stalking them 🤣 and again once the concert started they let my dad onto the stage and dave (the singer) backed off the mic and gestured my dad towards it to sing again. i hope to have an experience as cool as that one day
life long metalhead and I agree, NOFX rules. Metal is my first love, but there is waaaaay too much good music out there to limit yourself to one genre.
It's amazing that a song that is, realistically super depressing, can have this much high-octane energy. Right under the surface, you can just feel the overwhelming anger. I love this.
Can't believe this was dropped 14 years ago now. Feels like yesterday I was excited to see a new NOFX video come out. Will always love these guys until the day I die.
Remember when Zach De La Rocha said, "Anger is a gift." It's all about how you funnel it. I deal with anger issues myself but i realized I'm just reacting to the evil system we are in. Forced to feel alienated and exploited. We're just a huddled mass depraved from love and community and sensitivity. Everyone stepping all over each other in search for the almighty dollar. While the billionaire class watch us fight for the crumbs that fall from their bib. Our time will come my friends, and boy oh boy will it be righteous 😊
Saw them twice at resurrection fest and enjoyed as f&%$ing hell. Now i got a ticket to The last show in spain ever (may 24) and i´m afraid the sadness enter my soul for the band that changed my life in 1993 because they´ll quit making so amazing tunes. ETERNAL THANKS TO NOFX, FAT MIKE, ERIC MELVIN, ERIC SANDIN and EL HEFE for making my life so fucking complete. Your albums changed my life in a way i can´t describe but nothing that grateful
i miss going to these shows, i still remember warped tour 02, honestly i really miss this style of music and the people you keep running into over and over at shows
X coke and K? That certainly be one hell of a special blend. Would gladly put my sobriety on hiatus to share a ball of that with fat mike. High or not these fellas always seem to have fun. How can you not love these guys ?
@@helltoupee6664 But Cokie's special blend that he bumps from his flower is a mix of coke, K, and X! Not just coke and we don't know the ratio of one to the others. Don't mean to be such a bummer here but he could actually not remember his party if the blend is K dominant
my ex boyfriend was cokie the clown for Halloween squirting flower and all!! and i think i was tank girl that year. Fat mike has a special place in my heart he always makes my day whenever i see this vid
Hey that guy at 1:06 is Punk Rock Joel, I used to know him. Would always see him at shows, he was a good guy. Weird to just throw a youtube comment here and expect someone to see this and know, but is he around still? I haven't seen him in a while. I hope he is well.
i watched "this is the end", and the part where Micheal Cera blows the coke in Christopher's face and says "what does this coke smell like?" i thought of this video immediately
Wandering along the paseo in Fuengirola last year in November while wearing my HNSNSN Discharge t-shirt, a fellow spiky top was sitting in the Olde London Inn Bar wearing his End of Days camiseta. A quick air pump was exchanged with the devils horns. We are very much alive.
One thing I have always wanted to do is meet fat mike from wat limited information I have from Google n RUclips n listening to his music since before I can remember he seems like a person I would like to know n be friends with along with all of nofx of course don't be silly haha
Con todo lo que se ha visto en el mundo en estos días solo puedo decir que esta canción es más relevante ahora que en el momento en que fue sacada. Grande SOAD!!!
Melvin definitely has a great voice. As a musician and obsessed audiophile of 40+ years I can assure you that the science behind his vocal abilities far passes the majority of singers out there. He also achieves very high note range for yelling in a distorted manner. Not easy whatsoever. Melvin and Mike compliment eachother amazingly.
Nothing like a Nofx binge. I gotta do it every once in awhile to get my bearings.
9 years later, you still getting your fucking bearings, my friend?

The "Melvin Yell" will go down in rock history. It should have it's own entry in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Next to the man himself obviously!

Although Mike's alter ego seems sad, this video makes me laugh every time. Tim McIlrath's reaction is the best one 😁
The fact he's probably using quite rarely given his straight edge background makes this even more hilarious
