میں اسے واقفِ الفت نہ کروں
سوچتا ہوں کہ بہت سادہ و معصوم ہے وہ
میں ابھی اس کو شناسائے محبت نہ کروں
روح کو اس کی اسیرِ غمِ الفت نہ کروں
اس کو رسوا نہ کروں ، وقفِ مصیبت نہ کروں
سوچتا ہوں کہ ابھی رنج سے آزاد ہے وہ
واقفِ درد نہیں ، خوگرِ آلام نہیں
سحرِ عیش میں اس کی اثرِ شام نہیں
زندگی اس کے لیے زہر بھرا جام نہیں
سوچتا ہوں کہ محبت ہے جوانی کی خزاں
اس نے دیکھا نہیں دنیا میں بہاروں کے سوا
نکہت و نور سے لبریز نظاروں کے سوا
سبزہ زاروں کے سوا اور ستاروں کے سوا
سوچتا ہوں کہ غمِ دل نہ سناؤں اس کو
سامنے اس کے کبھی راز کو عریاں نہ کروں
خلش دل سے اسے دست و گریباں نہ کروں
اس کے جذبات کو میں شعلہ بداماں نہ کروں
سوچتا ہوں کہ جلا دے گی محبت اس کو
وہ محبت کی بھلا تاب کہاں لائے گی
خود تو وہ آتشِ جذبات میں جل جائے گی
اور دنیا کو اس انجام پہ تڑپائے گی
سوچتا ہوں کہ بہت سادہ معصوم ہے وہ
میں اسے واقفِ الفت نہ کروں
