  • Overview of building a BMW 1M Clone, starting with a 6mt, n55 135i. This is by no means a guide on the "best" or "right" way to do things, but I wanted to share the process. Please leave any questions about the build process below and I'll do my best to answer them. Hope you enjoy!

    I like that you're just chillin' and trying stuff out and working hard and hoping for the best. You don't have to be a mega-pro to produce great content.

    Some real good content in here - you should add commentary over the top so everyone knows exactly whats happening - as well as show more before/after. The end result needs a full walk around showing the final result. Keep it up though!

    bravo you have talent, I have a 135i conversion 1m but I miss changing the front fenders, I will ask you for advice when I change them if possible

    • @GrahamsGarage

      Front fenders bolt on, but you'll need the 1m fender liners (same as m3). Feel free to comment with questions anytime!

    Really nicely done! Did you do any research on changing the differential to a limited slip? I think only the 1M has that and the 135is and 135i don't sadly.

    • @GrahamsGarage

      A limited slip is definitely on my wish list! Glad you liked the video

    Does the front bumper have to be a 1m bumper to match the 1m fenders? Where did purchase the rear fender flairs? thanks for making the video. I admire that you take on the conversion project. That's a big job!

    • @GrahamsGarage
      @GrahamsGarage  2 года назад

      Yes it does! I think someone is making 1m style fenders that fit a 135i front bumper if you’re going that route. Rear flares came from na_papi_ on instagram. Thank you for the kind words, it was a long but rewarding project!

      E9x m3 comp/1m wheels with 255/35/19 & 275/35/19 pilot sport 4s. The fronts rub on fender liners, I’d stick with stock size in the future or run 18’s.

      @@GrahamsGarage damn. Thanks for letting me know. How come though? Was under the impression that oem 1m front Fender in 135 with stock hubs would have same offset and clearance as 1M

      @@davidgiannini5220 The recommended tire size for 359's is 245/265. I went 10mm over size (255/275) and that caused the issue.

    Where did you get those rear fenders ?

  • @cstokes54
    @cstokes54 2 года назад

    You made it look too easy. Lol. Did you replace or reshape the EVAP lines for the exhaust? What about the battery and cables? What did you do for those?

    • @GrahamsGarage
      @GrahamsGarage  2 года назад +1

      I trimmed the white evap line that runs to the engine bay but the rest were 1m evap lines. Had to drop the fuel tank some. Battery cables were 1m but in retrospect, 135i cables would've probably worked. IBIS 1m battery cables are expensive! Thanks for the comment Chris!

    • @cstokes54
      @cstokes54 2 года назад

      @@GrahamsGarage I modified my 135i evap lines with heat and shortening for now. I'll prob swap for 1M proper lines eventually. I was looking at other bmw vehicles for the positive cabling and thinking of extending the ground cable by splicing. For now, the battery cables are stretched a bit. Everything else (minus the flares) was mostly plug-and-play. I'm also curious about the interior swap you did. The video was a little vague on what you swapped and why.

    Hey man, did you use genuine bmw 1m bumpers ? I have seen a kit but I want genuine I think with after market rear arch. Do you know if 1m bumpers fit straight onto a 135i?

    • @GrahamsGarage
      @GrahamsGarage  Год назад +1

      1m bumpers do not fit a 135i without this modification. They make narrow body (135i compatible) 1m style bumpers. Hope this helps

    • @GrahamsGarage
      @GrahamsGarage  2 года назад

      Yes, all oem minus the rear. Just counting the oem body panels, I think it was something like 4-5k. Add about 1.5k for oem exhaust conversion. Just a heads up, prices have gone up a bit!
