      I play D&D and Mutants & Masterminds. It’s actually a lot easier to create anime characters in M&M because it’s not limited to level 1 or level 2 spells. There is also some creativity that is encouraged for this game, so if apply the descriptors and flat modifiers correctly, then you can call that power a Spitit Gun.

      I used to play Exalted. It's a great concept but the game itself is kinda over-designed I think.
      That said, for anyone who's familiar with it, I was running a game of it for my friends and I was gonna insert a party of Sidereals as sometimes-allies for my Solar PCs. They were gonna be an ancient First Age sidereal (Genkai) putting together a team of relatively new dimwits to try to restore the natural order of things after her moron compatriots fucked it all up. This was originally in 2nd edition.
      Genkai was several thousand years old, chosen of Saturn (Endings). Gave the appearance of supporting the Bronze Faction while quietly undermining them. She wasn't too fond of the Gold Faction, either. And the handful of Silver Faction ninnies might actually be insane.
      Kurama was reincarnated during the Shogunate, chosen of Jupiter (Secrets). He was gonna be my excuse for insane coincidences. Kurama's a planner. Biggest astrology focus of any of them.
      Hiei was actually a supporter of the Sidereal coup, but after they were done, Chejop Kejak, Anys Syn, and some other Bronze Faction jackasses had him killed because they considered him a possible threat. Chosen of Mars (Battle), reincarnated a few centuries after Kurama, joined up with Genkai out of spite. I never did figure out what kind of powers to give him to reflect just how insane his fighting style was. Maybe I'd have had to invent a martial arts style.
      Kuwabara was reincarnated within the last couple of centuries, chosen of Venus (Serenity). I didn't have much for him other than he was gonna have a big-fucking weapon.
      Yusuke was reincarnated roughly at the same time as Kuwabara, chosen of Mercury (Journeys). His primary martial art was going to be Righteous Devil Style, so he'd fight with flame pieces.

    YES!! Someone other than Tulok gets it! The differences were interesting.
    Now comes the inevitable Hiei and Kurama builds. I've never seen anyone that really nailed Kurama yet

    The only extra thing I would say is that Kuwabara probably would need a higher Con, simply because he can endlessly take a beating. However, I also get that it's a balance with gameplay, as Dex is way more important than Con (for the most part)

      I mean Yusuke recognizes him by how easy it is to punch him as hard as he can with no worries xd

      This always baffles me, cause I primarily play Pathfinder and occasionally play 5E, and in Pathfinder they are of equal importance due to the more simple save system. Dex in Pathfinder only effects Ref saves, AC, and Initiative whereas Con effects health and Fortitude saves(the most important save in the game). Both also can effect class abilities, damage, and a few other things but in the base game that's it really.

    I played for two years in a campaign as Yusuke, a Half-Orc Sun-Soul Monk with a couple of home brews for a focused spirit gun an spirit shotgun. Had a blast flipping everyone off and getting into scraps. Yu Yu Hakusho is one of my favorite animes (so naturally, I love this channel) and dnd is my favorite game. Currently enjoying a campaign as a gun-mage fighter named Gene Starwind. Thanks for the content, can’t wait for 3 kings

    I feel like Berserker Barbarian is a weak pick for Yusuke, considering he's multiclassing Monk.
    - Raging and Frenzy Bonus Action Attacks compete with Martial Arts and Ki Options.
    I'd recommend switching to Zealot. Gives him an ease of resurrection due to his relation to Spirit World via Warrior of the Gods, and we can flavor the extra Radiant damage Divine Fury as his Spirit Energy; particularly with embracing the spirit wave.
    I would advise taking the 1 Barb level, then navigating to Ascendant Dragon level up to 5. Then taking Barb up to 4. Then back to Monk until max level.
    _ _______ _
    Kuwabara is something I'd likely do completely different. But Probably some mix of Soulknife Rogue with Fighter and/or Monk. The Psychic Blades benefit from Dueling, get a bonus action attack innately (so add ability score), and count as a Monk Weapon.
    Maybe Swords Bard mixed with Soulknife Rogue, but def wouldn't want full caster levels for Kuwabara. (Maybe Soulknife Mystic if UA is allowed).

    I'd recommend against using Tavern Brawler on the Yusuke build. It's mostly redundant. The 1d4 unarmed attack damage is already replaced when you dip into Monk, and the bonus action grapple then competes with all the Monk's other, and better, bonus action options.
    I'd instead recommend either just taking the ASI, or the Crusher feat. This would allow Yusuke to push enemies back with his punches, as well as granting the chance to build advantage if you crit.
    As far as the Barbarian subclasses, Berserker is perfectly serviceable, but, Zealot would also be a fine option. Divine Fury could be flavored as Yusuke channeling spirit or demon energy into his attacks for a boost in damage output. Up to you.
    Ascendant Dragon is a good pick to adapt a lot of Yusuke's abilities. Great job.

    I play a lot of warlock and every time I eldritch blast I imagine it to look like Yuske's spirit gun so I would have to pick that up for my build, oh and check out Pugilist Fighter subclass if you can find it it fits Yuske's fighting style perfectly. For Kuwabara I was thinking Paladin.

    I really like the dragon monk breath weapon's versatility for using it like spirit gun and shotgun. I might've started the monk multiclass sooner but I see the logic of getting your strength high before doing it.

    Personally for Kuabara I would've gone with three levels of Soul Knife Rogue and then put the rest into Fighter, probably either Eldritch Knight or Battle Master to give him some clever options in how he uses sword.

    • @NecromancyForKids

  • @casteanpreswyn7528
    @casteanpreswyn7528 Год назад

    For Yusuke, I feel Sun Soul is much more accurate, especially towards the end of the series than the dragon option. Sure, it starts out being able to use its bolt for all attacks, but that's how he is by the end and it includes an improving version of Burning Hands based on ki points and level to do the shotgun.
    Also, I'd never actually give Yusuke Barbarian as a class. Sure, he uses emotions to fuel himself during fights, but it's never usually anger or rage that propel him, it's almost exclusively sadness or regret. Almost every time he fights using his anger he either loses or has to readjust.

    • @casteanpreswyn7528
      @casteanpreswyn7528 Год назад

      For Kuwabara I would have gone fighter, either Psychic Warrior or Eldritch Knight, leaning more towards Psychic Warrior myself due to the extra damage, the forceful movement ability(Spirit Fly Swatter), and the ability to help yourself and allies within 10 feet.

      Kurama is pretty easy, since druids get a thorn whip spell and lots of other plant-based spells. Hiei would probably be a Four Elements monk focusing on fire, or a Warlock with some sort of fire attack?

    • @SomewherePastNever
      @SomewherePastNever  Год назад

      Yeah, there’s some overlap between abilities here for sure. But the idea was to try to keep it simple for new players and give them a baseline framework for where to start. This is definitely by no means the only or even best way to build Yusuke lol.
