Great video, just purchased a 2024 Transalp, will purchase the large Panniers once they have mounting brackets available. Love the ability to lock things up vs. soft bags having less security. Can't beat Tusk pricing.
I think the medium will work great on my klx300. It would make a great mini adventure bike capable of single track. Perfect for getting lost in the woods.
I was thinking of keeping my Givi pannier mount rack, removing the Givi panniers and ordering the large Tusk panniers. I like the idea of having two sets albeit both the Givi and the Tusk large tins are both 37 liters each. My rationale for having two sets is: one for the road and one for trail or back road travel where the possibility of getting scraped or dented would be higher. The Tusk tins are 1/3 of the cost of the Givi brand and the ONLY reason for buying the Givi over the Tusk in the first place is for some reason the folks that make the Tusk mount frames have excluded the 2014 and up Suzuki V-Strom DL1000. I enjoyed the no nonsense, no hype, no fidgety Exaggerated tweaker gestures to prove a point. Very professional. Thanks...
Sounds like a good plan. I assume you can get Givi mounts for the Tusk boxes? I think you'll like them. They are pretty good quality for the money. Thanks so much for the comments.
Thanks for sharing. Really good and simple video. It was exactly what is was looking for. Is there any benefit for have them angled verses level with the ground? You have the option to tilt them, correct?
Thanks for commenting! Good question on the angle of the boxes. It's a preference, for sure. I mounted mine to follow the line of the seat and rear top rack. Also, if you ever carry a passenger, have them sit on the bike and make sure the position of the boxes allow them the room they need. The process is easy. Once the racks are mounted on your bike, you'll snap a mounting plate to the rack, hold up a box to the plate and position it how you want, then mark the back with a sharpie, through the holes in the mounting plate. You then pop off the mounting plate and use it as a template to drill out all the mounting holes. I would then lay both boxes together, and trace through the holes to the other box. This way they are mount perfectly symmetrical. After that you just bolt the plates to the boxes (use thread locker on everything).
If you have a mating piece from your rack system that could be attached to the boxes, I don't see why it wouldn't work. Check with Rocky Mountain ATV before you buy.
@@MattMolnar10 No worries. I'm buying an AT before the spring and will be purchasing these panniers. I'm working through all your AT videos, thanks for the effort you put into sharing this info!
@@479_adv We have had a very cool spring, so far. Got my WR250 out the other day to just fire it up, but no rides yet. Normally the AT would have been out by now. Enjoy your AT...wonderful bike!

Fantastic video! Exactly what I needed to see, made my decisions much easier. Keep the vids coming.
Glad it helped! Thanks for commenting!
Thank you for demo
Great video. I think the Tusk panniers with the happy trails su mounting system and I’m set. I really liked that you measured the total width.
Glad it helped! Safe travels!
Large it is. Thank you for the visual.
perfect video and breakdown, just ordered mine for my Africa twin
Thank you! I have mine on 3 extended road trips now...no complaints! Just make sure to lock tight all the fasteners. I've never had one come loose.
Just bought mediums but enjoyed the video. I’m a more 1-4 day traveler.
Nice! Safe travels.

I tend to use the mediums on my WR 250. Better suited to smaller bikes, for sure.
So simple and sincere review. A gem. Thank you very much.
Thank you!
Thank you for a honest review! Will be ordering the large!

Matt Molnar Well thank you for the quick reply, and the info on mounting the panniers. Hope you keep up with the detailed and quality videos.
Great review, thanks! Will the large fit a helmet?
Unfortunately, no! The opening is not wide enough.
I ordered the medium but they may be returned for the large.
Having both, I almost never put the mediums on.
I wonder if they can work on a different rack.

where did you buy these from can you share the link please

Nice boxes but I've yet to see a great motorcycle dealership. Unless you like paying thousands over MSRP ( not talking about TT&L) in bogus fees.
Is there any way you can mount the medium on the right side and large on the left and post the pictures or video?
My bike is packed tightly away for the winter. Sorry

I think you will really like the AT. Tusk is also making a soft pannier that fits on the same racks. Nice option!
