    What a delicacy plantain is 😋! In uganda we call it GONJA and its sometimes eaten roasted over charcoal or steamed in banana leaves .Thanks darling ❤for showing us other versions of cooking it too😊 and I just can't wait to try them out.

    Love your videos Mrs, keep it up. You can just add the salt before frying. You make your salt solution, then you peel and slice the plantains into the solution, you remove and fry. Try this with black eyed beans stew and it would be one favorite meal for the family. In Ghana where I am from beans with fried plantain is a favorite staple for almost every home. A great lunch idea

    Usually if I haven't baked or roasted I also do fry but with I dress them up with cinamonn, ginger, paprika and then deep them in oil..so delicious...

    I love plantains. We use them alot here in Nigeria. The ripe ones are fried and pairs well with beans, rice, spaghetti or with fried eggs. The unripe ones are made into a porridge with leafy veggies, fish, chicken or beef.
    I love mine cut thin. Almost like chips.

    Plantain's are also boiled as they start ripening and added coconut milk as they boil they are great for breakfast and plantain's grow in every banana zone in Kenya

    I grew up eating these all the time. This is a typical side dish used in Cuban dishes. My favorite are the green plantains before they are ripe. It’s more savory then sweet. So yummy. Thank you for sharing.

    Great to see options of cooking plantain. Here in Uganda its mostly roasted/grilled over the local charcoal stove! We I will call you it ‘Gonja’.

    Fried Plantain is one of my favorite food to eat. First time I learnt about oven baked plantains. I will advise against the salt sprinkling of the plantains though, just to control the salt intake in your body. It is very delicious just as it is.     Suzy this is how you add salt in plantains, when they are frying mix water with salt then with a spoon add the salty water in the oil.

    The almost ripe plantain are usually boiled and eaten for breakfast whereas the unripe plantain are cooked with meat or beans for a delicious meal

    Mmmh looks yummy. Never tried plantain, unfortunately:( we have roasted, dryed banana cips in germany taste sweet and crunchy are they taste like that too? I wonder and want some plantain now 😢❤😂

      Just put them in a warm place in your kitchen. They will ripen in a few days.

    I find there is no need for salt when cooking ripe plantain. It's healthier.

    So plantains are not just normal bananas. We were were with my cousin in a restaurant and she ordered plantains and what was brought was bananas made in this manner and thought that's the name they give to bananas prepared like this.

    Good job Suzy but I have a question: Why add salt? I cant stand salt on my sugary food... its either sugar or salt not both.... I cant stand honey in my food too... my take though.... I see people adding salt to arrow roots and sweet potatoes ... I enjoy those foods in their original taste....

    What happens when you eat the plantains without cooking coz I know quite a number of us have eaten thinking it's ripe bananas for eating like that 😅 I knew just a few years ago about plantains and I still can't tell the difference well between them and ripe bananas for eating 😅

      The skin of a plantain is thicker. Even when green bananas are never as firm as a plantain.
