My Haitian neighbour invited my boyfriend and me to a party, and these plantains were on the menu. I couldn't stop eating them. He had his wife whip me up a batch to take home, but I neglected to ask for the recipe. No one is home right now, and I have some plantains to cook. This is what I needed. Thank you.

I didn't wash with lemons I was too lazy and tired.lol
The plantains I had was yellow on the outside so it had a lil sweetness to it. Not the same as what I had from Hatian restaurants which I love. My husband loves it, he didn't complain. Since my husband enjoy it than I'm happy.😊

Washing the plantain then dipping it in water only makes for a dangerous situation. There is no need to do those two steps that involve water. Otherwise, your technique is good.

Well honey us Haitians been doing it like this for years and we are fine. If you feel uncomfortable and you don’t wanna make it that way you can always put a little bit of salt on it after it’s done cooking. The only thing is the salt really won’t stick to it. Thank you so much for commenting.
