These changes seem like a good idea. Assigned seating (and the option of more leg room) will accommodate flyers wanting more space. I particularly like the addition of red-eye flights. I hope the new and yet defined boarding strategy will be to board rear seats first and restrict flyers to the overhead bins in their section of the plane. Additionally, I hope they amend their policy for oversized flyers. If a person needs 2 seats, they should pay for 2 seats. The notion that anyone gets a free seat (denying that seat to someone else) is unfair. As someone that fits in a single seat, I object to subsidizing anyone else's fare.
Their customers did this to themselves. Stories about how flights will have 10-15 request for wheelchairs to board, but on the other end, none were taken. They only requested the wheelchair to board early. The airlines have to pay a fee to the service provider for each chair requested, even if they're not taken.
One of the last great American travel companies with a focus on innovation + equality. Now, they fall in with the rest of the opportunistic crowd. Nothing distinctive or refreshing about this new plan.
Wouldn’t have cash fall if you didn’t cancel so many flights and take you to North Carolina for 5 hours to fly from DFW to Austin TX. Who y’all fooling?
I dont like assigned seats i like southwest the way it is . Its the reason why i fly southwest airlines if the become like the rest then i guess ill quit flying them ! I dont like the other airlines !
