Yes clean it just like he did and it’s normal for water to leak out the bottom a little. Also don’t tighten those 2 screws on the inside tight. Leave them a little loose, or it will sound like a lawnmower.
One more thing your mix may be runny because the mix is off. Follow the instructions on the bottle precisely. And it is easier to make a gallon at a time. Or buy the premix version.
I've cleaned my machines many times had it. For several years now 2 questions why would you put a little bit of alcohol in it and do you know if there is a temperature setting because the soap comes out really really hot thanks for your help
the barber there is no temperature setting. The alcohol was suggested by Alan at latherkingrepair.com along with distilled water and seems the make them last longer for me. The do require cleaning, sometimes I can get one to go a year, sometimes only a few months.
the barber not sure, I just know how to unclog them. I have several machines that I can’t fix for other problems. I used to send them to latherkingrepair but for a while they have not been accepting machines to repair due to part shortages.
I have had it happen once. I put clipper oil around the button, pushed it several times, oiled it a little more and it fixed it from what I remember. If not it is repoaceable.
This video was a HUGE help to our barber shop, as we cleaned out our latherizers a few months ago! I do have a question for you...We have 4 of these machines in our barber shop, and for the past two weeks, all of the lather has been exceptionally runny. The texture of the lather is almost a liquid. All 4 of the machines have been having this problem, which leads me to believe there is an issue with the Campbell's shave cream itself. Do you happen to have any experience with this issue/advice on the topic? I'd really appreciate any thoughts you might have...
@@barbermike5018 Yep, but you're thinking along the same lines as the rest of the shop. I feel strongly it's a solution issue, so either the shave cream or the water. We always use distilled though. It sounds like you're very experienced with these things, so I'm gonna try recleaning tomorrow to see if there's a difference, but I just feel like it's still in such good condition. Maybe I'm wrong.
Revellan cambell’s changed the formula of their soap a little while back and in my opinion it is not as good. There are other brands out there but I have still been using mostly cambells. Sometimes if the machine is running watery, I dump all the solution out of the bowl and refill. Did you mix the lather solution yourself? You could mix a small batch and test it, you coukd take a cap full and mix it in a pomade container of water. Just fill the cap and throw it in a pomade container and fill with water, shake it up and dump it in the bowl and test it out. Hope this helps and you can diagnose the problem. Keep me updated.
It’s the mix for sure. It’s a common problem and that’s why they sell a premixed version. It’s easier to make it a gallon at a time. Follow Campbell’s instructions precisely. It’s half a bottle to a gallon and a quarter bottle a lather cleaner in the gallon. Use distilled water.
My machine started leaking water from it. I took it the my local repair shop and they didn't fix the problem. I bought new gaskets for top and inside under where the spring is located replaced both and cleaned the machine and and that didn't stop the leak. Do you have any suggestions any help would be greatly appreciated before I send it back to the company.
There is a bowl needle/orfice under the spring. Where the bottom gasket is at the bottom of the bowl, take that off and replace possibly? Or where the plastic screw piece goes into the lather sleeve there is a gasket there that presses into the chamber, where the motor screw shaft goes into the chamber. Like I have said, I have several machines that I can’t fix so hope this helps?
first barber license 1965 and I'm still learning. Thank you finally found an informed video on Lather King.
This would be great if I could see what you’re doing 😳
Thank you for posting this. I've just put two back into service.
GRAIN TV awesome!!!
Just what I love to do after getting my ass kicked at the shop all day. Work on my lather box
Hey Mr mike, enjoyed your video, do you have a video bye change on how to disassemble a chrome Campbell lather machine?, Thanks..Kelly
No I just have this type.
Dude you just saved me a trip to the repair man and plenty of money. Thank you sooooo much!!!
Where do the white heating wires go
looking to reconnect the wiring of my latherking machine do you have that?
Paul Del Sud not really, I usually take a picture before I disconnect them as depending on how old it is, the wiring can vary a little.
The lather coming out is runny on my lather machine, not sure why? Any help will be appreciated, thank you.
Swingin Sam probably just needs to be cleaned.

So I had an issue with runny lather took apart to clean now it comes out nice but doesn’t warm up any suggestions?
Maybe check the wiring to make sure you didn’t accidentally pull something out of one of the nut connectors or anywhere else?
@@MikesBarberShopMorroBay oh ok I’ll check it again tomorrow or this weekend hopefully I can figure it out wish there was manuals for this

I wonder why my machine gets really hot...thanks you 👍

What’s the problem for taking it apart?
Runny lather, clogged machine.
The top button keeps sticking so it won't turn off what do I do?
I have had it happen once. I put clipper oil around the button, pushed it several times, oiled it a little more and it fixed it from what I remember. If not it is repoaceable.
First be sure to pull off button cap first to expose the black button under it.

Revellan I would guess bad batch of soap. Are you using distilled h2o?
