It's longer usually at front due to most men having a bigger mid section and bad posture. So the longer front makes the base seam looks even when worn.
Tip for anyone looking to get more use of their lighter jackets into colder weather: get yourself some merino wool baselayers (especially thicker ones 250-320g/m2) You'll be surprised how well they perform. They are also form fitting so it wont take up too much space or change your silhouette. Amazon has good deals on them that come with socks too. Highly recommend, was a game changer for me as a person who hates the cold.
Here for the vintage! Love learning more about them! What measurements do you usually take on wool jackets? I have the same chest size and have been looking around for one, but you did mention you wear them a little looser for a more period correct fit.
Love the collection. The Hercules half-belt is interesting to me. I have a vintage Polo Ralph Lauren leather jacket with the exact same cut- half- belt, zipper with gussets- that is about the same length. I always thought it was a bit too long but maybe, that's just the period correct proportions of that jacket.
Great collection! Each is it's own perfect fit. I really get why you have each of them. Did Sportclad labe inspired Polo Ralph Lauren label? This looks really similar
Fully agreed on the shorter front vs back, why don’t modern makers do this!? I also think it was a wise decision to leave the length on the brown plaid. Thanks Jake!
Personally i prefer longer jackets if i plan on wearing them in the winter. Up north the more coverage the better. Ive been looking at that flint and tinder with wool lining for a while now. Id also like to see a video about your formal and semi-formal wear. I don't recall seeing that from you yet
I have both the wool lined and synthetic lined and I always find myself reaching for the wool lined version. It is warmer, the quality feels a bit nicer, and seems to even fit a bit better.
I have the Wool lined version in olive. I personally love love it! It’s warm and easy to layer under as I sized up to a medium though I usually wear small (36-38). I will say though I am built like an 1800s boxer, 5’10” 150lbs, short legs and a stupid long torso with beefy arms and chest so the length of the jacket is barely long enough to actually provide coverage for my torso which I love the look of!
I agre on the Flint and Tinder jacker. Flimsy, feels cheap and the fit is pretty bad... I though it was because it was made for Americans... Im from Europe a lot of American clothes fits pretty bad on us.

High arm hole makes jacket not float but maybe need more spaces on the diameter near the shoulder

Most period denim is meant to be worn with other denim, most likely. Most period jackets are meant to be layered over more than just T-shirt.
I feel like I just watched a vid about these wool jackets, so I guess I'll catch the rest later rather than sooner [now].
