"There's only six enemy fighters, destroy them and move on to attack primary targets."
The confirmation from the escort of Su-35 Fighters confirmed. The pilots maneuvering to take on the outnumbered Ukrainian Fighters. It was their Su-35s up against older MiG-29s. The fight would be short, especially as they had the numbers edge as well, 10 to 6.
"This Foreman Leader! We're under attack! Escort where are you!?"
"What?!" the Russian Squadron leader shouted as he turned to see two Su-27s tearing through the Su-34s they were escorting.
"Get them off us!" another of Foreman shouted before his Su-34 was riddled with gunfire and sent hurling towards the ground below.
As the Russian Fighter leader tried to come up with a counterattack, the MiG-29s in front of him began tracking them. With a curse he went evasive only to discover ANOTHER pair of Su-27s were attacking from their flank.
"Where is our support?!" he shouted a second before a MiG-29 got behind him and riddled his Fighter with cannon fire and then pulled hard to chase down a Su-34 trying to escape and got that Fighter with a missile.
"Looks like Ghost already got two kills," one of the UAF pilots chuckled even as he turned hard and kept himself positioned nicely for the missile shot that ended another Su-35.
"Hammer Flight," the Ground Controller began speaking from her hidden location as she tracked the battle on radar, "Talon Flight, Firebolt reporting. Be advised more bandits are heading your way. ID are two regiments of MiG-35s and Su-35s along with at least one regiment of Tu-22M3s. The latter appears to be escorted by the Su-35s and are maneuvering for Cruise Missile attack. Priority intercept. Stand by," the woman left the comms for a second, "Hammer Flight, Talon Flight, Hawk Flight and Wizard Flight are now inbound to support you. Three additional enemy regiments have been noted heading your direction as well. A mix of MiG-31s, MiG-35s, Su-27s, Su-30s, and Su-35s with Su-25s detected at a lower level."
    "Hammer Flight confirms."
    "Talon Flight Confirms."
The rest of Hammer and Talon Flights joined the fray. The Russians are in complete confusion with some chased into the missiles of SAM Batteries. The Russian pilots lost all Situational Awareness and Coordination. The first group is quickly disposed of by the 16 UAF Fighters.
"Second group coming in!" a Hammer pilot had them on his radar.
"Firebolt, Talon Flight requesting a Bogey Dope."
The updated reported was not a pretty thing. Even with the soon to be arriving Hawk and Wizard Flights, they would be outnumbered.
Nevertheless, the pilots pressed forward. They were met with missiles coming their way, fired from almost maximum range. With Firebolt's guidance, though, the UAF pilots pressed in on the RASF planes.
Missiles were exchanged between both sides. The UAF pilots, a number having trained with NATO pilots, especially American F-15 Eagle squadrons, used a few tricks they picked up or developed to counter the vastly superior RASF Fighters. That small edge and little tactical change transformed the fight before it had even begun.
"Biggest fight we've been in to date!" one of the UAF pilots grunted out as he dodged a pair of Su-35s to get a clean shot at the Tu-22M3s, "Confirm, they have Cruise Missiles!"
The RASF pilots did well as the Bombers finished arming their missiles. Though two of the eight planes were shot down, seven Cruise Missiles were launched. Their target a defenseless city, but they would never reach.
"UAF and RASF planes, be advised," a very angry American voice entered the Net, "Those missiles entered NATO airspace and have been shot down. Any plane that strays over NATO airspace will meet the same fate. Now keep your fight out of NATO airspace!"
Two RASF planes failed to listen and both strayed into Polish airspace to try and flank the UAF planes. That in turned invited a pair of missiles from nearby loitering USAF F-35 Lightning II Stealth Fighters. Both planes, working with both AWACs and GCI were able to track, identify, and fire upon the pair. Two Su-35s were destroyed before they could even blink.
Though, secretly, the American F-35s were not alone. There were eight of them and four F-22A Raptors. The twelve planes began sniping at RASF planes thanks to their Stealth and Jamming. None of the Russian Bombers escaped the confused Battlespace as it began to get more confusing.
American and Polish F-16 Fighting Falcons arrived at the border to establish a defense zone. This happened even as Hawk and Wizard joined the fray. A couple of UAF Fighters strayed into Polish airspace, but promptly left when warned. Four additional RASF planes did not and even engaged the Polish Thunder Flight consisting of eight F-16s.
Appearing out of cover, four American F-15C Eagles engaged the aggressive Su-30s.
Among the UAF, was the Ghost of Kyiv. The pilot was already running up an impressive tally. Aside from the two he got earlier, he had bagged a further pair of RASF Fighters. Both were MiG-31s.
The two had come in too fast and he had been able to gun one and fire a missile at the other as it tried to slow down. Now, he was dancing with a trio of very angry Su-35s. Which he reduced by one, running his count up by five in one day.
But the other two were sticking too tightly to him. He wouldn't be able to get away so easily. Unless, as he just did, duck into the clouds breaking visible sight of him.
The two Russians came out and were attacked by Polish Fighters. One went down, the other fired back, downing a Polish plane, but the pilot safely ejected.
The RASF plane then pulled a hard turn maneuver to chase the other. The pilot never completed the maneuver as he was gunned by the Ghost as he flew by. The furball was just so big, it had now entered Belorussian airspace as well, but the Belorussian pilots refused to engage or even take off. Those in the sky quickly landed to avoid being drawn in.
A F-35 pilot briefly taunted them with the reminder their radars couldn't see them.
The pilot was quick with his taunt. After all, they may not see the Stealth Fighters, but they could definitely hear the pilots and detect the transmissions of their own radars, once close enough. Which they were successfully avoiding thanks to their own support.
"AWAC Big Bird here," the American operator rubbed his eyes to keep from going cross eyed, "Bogey Dope is pretty bad," the man informed the Fighters of numbers and altitudes as well as how mixed up everything was, "I thought this only happened in video games. What a mess."
Fighters zoomed all over the place over three countries. Russia tried to force more Bombers and Attackers, but the confused clutter of the battle caused NATO planes and defenses to intercept as much as the UAF defenses and planes were. The Ghost alone had racked up a total of 12 Fighters between three different sorties.
Four American and two Polish pilots reported Ace Status as the fight dragged on until FINALLY, someone on the Russian side called it quits.
As the Ghost approached his runway, seeing two American F-15s flying with him, short on fuel and hopelessly lost due to all the confusion, he ran up his tally after six sorties over an eight hour period.
"Ugh, I lost count," he complained feeling the day weigh in on him, "Still, I'm alive and so is my country and people."
One of the tired Americans summed it up.
    "Pure mayhem today."
    The other didn't hold back.
"Be thankful with combat pilots and not diplomats."

Hell yes! Banger as always. But the metal remix seems to be over powered by the remaster. Just a thing I noticed.
Excited to see what else is on your Ace Combat tribute agenda, Scott.
